It's Time to Rock the Dragon

Chapter twenty eight

Silver took a seat on the aged chair behind the desk. I was a little hesitant to; it looked very old and didn’t look very safe or hygienic.

Silver, noticing my discomfort, said nothing but handed me a clean, new looking cushion and smirked.

I quickly sat down, not wanting to anger him, still being a little frightened of him.

“The Red Ribbon Army, are not after the Dragon Balls this time. We’ve already created a wish, and we do not want to find them again to make more wishes. Instead, we’re focusing on the millennium items.” Colonel Silver stated.

“I see. Because of the power when all millennium items are combined, yes?” I replied.

“So, you know about these millennium items?” Silver asked, cocking up an eyebrow.

“Yeah, I know a little bit but I’m no expert. I may be Gohan Son’s girlfriend, but I’m Seto Kaiba’s ex. I also used to hang around with Yugi Motou, and we all know the dramas that follow him.” I giggled.

“I see. I did not know that. I guess I don’t need to explain the items then, that will save us time. But I do however, have something to show you. Can you keep a secret, Charlotte?” Silver asked, referring to me by my first name.

“Yes, I’ve been known to keep secrets. But I’m not being a pushy curious person, so you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.” I quickly interjected.

“Nonsense. You seem like a very sweet girl, Charlotte. Gohan Son is very lucky to have you. I’d love to share this secret with you.” Silver smiled.

I smiled back, as I saw him get his pile of keys, instantly picking the right one and opening something in his drawer.

I had no idea what to expect, but when I saw what he presented to me, I gasped. I definitely wasn’t expecting this.

Suddenly, I felt a little more confident than usual. I knew what he showed me held great power, and should only be in the hands of very few people. Even if Silver’s intentions were good, he wasn’t meant to hold this item.

“What…what are your plans for the Millennium Scale?” I asked him, getting up from my chair and backing out.

“Charlotte I’m happy to discuss this with you. Just please, calm down. Don’t do anything hasty. I’m a good guy.” Silver said.

“Why do you have it then?” I asked, getting ready to run.

I don’t know why him revealing he had the scales was bringing such actions upon me. But I was panicking. He may state he’s a ‘good guy’ but he was a part of the Red Ribbon Army, and even though it was one item, it still held power. I wasn’t panicking for my safety anymore; I was panicking for the rest of the world’s safety. I was planning on running to safety and raising the alarm, even if it didn’t seem like a wise move now. I was being unselfish for once.

“Don’t do it, Charlotte. I can’t let you escape right now until you hear me out. I don’t want you to think I’m a bad person. It would break my heart for me to have to run after you and grab you and do something against your will, but I can’t let you think what you’re thinking right now.” Silver growled.

I took one look at his muscles, and my senses came back. The same fear I held before was the same, and I automatically took the seat in front of Silver.

“Good girl.” Silver stated.

I remained silent, my heart beating wildly. That was such a crazy action.

“Now, don’t panic. Remember, I am on your side. I am keeping these safe for this war. The Red Ribbon Army has entrusted me with these scales for safekeeping. When this war is over, I will do what is necessary.” Silver explained, calmly.

It made me calm down a little. Fact of the matter is, he has these scales right now. Even if he were to do something evil with them, he would do anything in his power to keep them. What I was about to do was silly.

“Which is why I need you on my side, Charlotte. I need you to go back out into the world and talk to your friends about our conversations. I need their trust, and I need to know what to do with these scales since they would know. Can you do that for me, Charlotte?” Silver asked me.

“Um, I don’t know. I can try, but they’re probably not going to be too trusting…” I trailed off.

“I know. But just let them meet with me, just once and I’ll explain this all to them. That’s the best way to get through to them.” Silver explained.

“Okay. I’m sure they’ll meet with you, if only for me to lead them to where you are. So you better be prepared, not only with weapons but with your words.” I warned Silver.

“I anticipated this. I am ready for whatever is in store. I’ll hand you a cell phone and you can call whomever you’d like to come. You can discuss whatever you’d like with them, whether you want them to meet me one on one or you can go do any duty you like and come back with everybody. It’s up to you.” Silver stated.

I just smiled as he dug through his drawers. I had only been here for a few hours, but it felt like a lot longer. I hadn’t seen Gohan since this morning; it would probably be about sunset now. I missed talking to him; especially after all the events of today it would be comforting.

Silver handed me the cell phone, muttered ‘I’ll leave you to it’ and left the room.

I got my own cell phone out of my pocket. I completely forgot about it, until now. I didn’t know Gohan’s number off by heart, we’d only been going out for one day. I also didn’t completely trust Silver yet, and who knew what recording and tracking devices were on this cell phone.

I rang Gohan’s phone, and seconds later he answered.

“WHO IS THIS? I KNOW YOU HAVE CHARLOTTE, AND WE’RE COMING FOR YOU!” I heard Gohan snarl.

“Gohan calm down! It’s me. I have a lot of explaining to do. So hear me out, okay?” I started.
