Teenage Casanova

EVERYBODY TALKS

Don’t freak out, Kennedy…

It was too late. She was already freaking out and she was freaking out badly.

What the hell had just happened? She wasn’t even supposed to be there. She didn’t plan on it, anyway. She had every intention of not going when she arrived at Harry’s door. She was going to tell him that she was sorry, but she couldn’t come.

And yet she couldn’t do it. She was sure it was because he was staring at her. In her mind telling someone no turned out a lot better than reality. When you’ve got someone begging you to go and using, what seemed like, mind control to get you to do it, it’s hard to actually follow through and say no.

Dammit.

She weaved through a jungle of people and stumbled out of the crowd. She needed to calm down. She needed to calm down or she would probably go back there and either slap him or kiss him.

Kennedy had no idea what she was feeling. Of course Harry was an attractive guy who seemed into her. Wouldn’t anyone want that? She thought she did. But every time she got close to accepting the fact that they had a connection, she pulled away and left.

No, she ran away.

She let herself become so caught up in the moment that she was going to kiss this guy. This guy that she hardly knew anything about. She knew that was nothing like her. So why was this guy different?

Kennedy pushed her way through some people blocking the bathroom door and flung herself at the sink. She quickly turned the knobs and let the water fall right into her hands before tossing it up at her face. Her breathing began to slow and the cool sensation from the water was helping her calm down.

She had to figure out what to do.

She looked up at her reflection in the mirror and sighed. She wasn’t Hannah. She didn’t know how to act in these kinds of situations. How do you decide on whether or not you want to kiss someone? How do you even decide on whether or not you should stay or leave while you can? Kennedy had no idea. This was all new to her. She never had someone who wanted her as much as Harry came off as. It was confusing.

“You’ve got to calm down and think rationally, Kenny,” she groaned after accidentally calling herself by her nickname. She had been talking to Hannah too much. “He’s a boy. You’re a girl. These kinds of things happen. He seems like a good guy, so why not?”

Even the words that came out of her mouth didn’t sound like herself. If she were home in Seattle, she would be sitting in her room right now watching Netflix or tweeting about some band she was into. But now that she was forced into spending her summer in new territory…she had no idea on how much she would change. And a part of her was afraid that the girl that would be sitting in her bedroom is going to be a lot different because of this one boy.

Or…maybe she was overreacting.

She leaned her head against the sink, trying to ignore the two girls who were walking into the bathroom at that moment.

“- sorry that happened to you, Emily,” one of the girls was saying as the door behind them swung shut. Kennedy looked up at that moment, seeing two beautiful, tanned girls moving towards the mirrors and checking their appearances. “I can’t believe you slept with him though. You didn’t know him!”

“I know,” the other girl, Emily, groaned as she pulled some mascara from her purse, “but you didn’t see him or hear him. He just…I was so captivated by him. And after Brian stood me up I needed someone like him, Kate.”

“I heard from a lot of other girls that he’s quite the charmer. And very easy on the eyes,” Kate, Kennedy assumed, turned her attention to Emily as she let her elbows prop her up against the sink. “I also heard he sleeps with a lot of girls.”

“I wish I would have known that before I saw him. Seriously, he treated me like shit this morning. I actually thought I had met a decent guy.”

“What even is a decent guy? They’re all pigs.”

Kennedy couldn’t help but subconsciously agree with the two girls about that. With her experience with the male population back home, she had come to realize that guys only wanted one thing.

“I just was really hoping that maybe for once I could have something good. Damn, the moment I saw those green eyes I was hooked.”

Green eyes? That caught Kennedy’s attention again. She couldn’t help but think of Harry right then and there. But it couldn’t be, right? What are the odds that she was here with the guy these two girls were talking about?

“Again, I’m really sorry that happened to you. I feel bad for the next girl that gets caught in his path.”

“You and I both,” Emily chuckled slightly. “But really…as much as I hate that guy…he was fantastic in bed. I had never screamed so loud in my life,” she shook her head, smirking. “He just kept yelling at me to scream his name and all I could choke out was ‘Jesus Christ, Harry!’ It was a bit embarrassing.”

Harry. There was no way. There was no way that they were talking about the same Harry. Not the guy out there that seemed like a decent person. That guy was a completely different Harry than the horrible person they were talking about.

But the more she thought about it, the harder it was for her to think that way. This was the same Harry that she was so hesitant about. The same Harry that came off as someone who wanted her. And it was at that point that she realized that he didn’t want to date her.

He wanted to sleep with her.

Kennedy could feel her blood boiling as she gripped the sink with both hands. She felt like, if she tried, she could have crushed the sink and let it crumble to the floor. She had never been so angry in her life. And she wasn’t even just angry.

She was completely embarrassed.

How could she have been so naïve? She knew there was something about him that was telling her to stay away. And she didn’t listen. She just had to come with him tonight. She just had to make conversation with him. And she just had to almost kiss him.

She felt like an idiot.

“I’m sorry to interrupt,” Kennedy turned to the two girls, her heart pounding not only from being so pissed but also nerves from talking to random people, “but are you sure that the guy you’re talking about…his name is Harry?”

“Um,” Emily made a face, obviously surprised by Kennedy’s sudden outburst, “yeah, I’m positive.”

That was all Kennedy needed as she bolted from the bathroom. She was raging. She wanted to run right up to him and hit him right across the face. She wanted to tell him to his face that she wasn’t one to be used. That he wasn’t going to get what he wanted with her.

But as she neared the corner which would reveal herself…she stopped. What the hell was she doing? This guy was putting on a show to get her to fall for him. He was playing his own game.

And she was going to let him off the hook with a little yelling and maybe a slap across the face? Hell no. He wasn’t getting off that easy. She didn’t just want to yell at him. She wanted revenge. She wanted to get even.

She wanted payback.

But how was she supposed to get that? She was such an open book, at least according to Hannah, and she had no idea on how to even get revenge. She never felt the need to. But now…now that’s all she could focus on.

This guy was going to pay for trying to use her.

She leaned against the wall and took a deep breath. What could she do? She didn’t want to cause him physical pain like getting him hit by a car or thrown in the ocean. She wanted to hurt his feelings, or even piss him off.

That’s when it hit her. This guy was expecting her to fall for him. So…why shouldn’t she? She got good grades in acting class. She could pull off a fake connection. She could lead him on and turn him down the moment he thought he was going to get what he wanted.

“You can do this…just act…slutty,” she tried to convince herself as she peaked around the corner and scanned the room until she found Harry back at the bar. She clenched her hand into a fist just at the sight of him. No, calm down…This won’t work if you can’t conceal your feelings.

She leaned back against the wall and closed her eyes, preparing for her biggest role. She had to make this guy believe that she wanted him. She could do it, right? She just…had to act like Hannah. You can do this… she mused silently as she pulled away from the wall.

She was surprised that her feet weren’t acting like they were glued to the floor, but instead they were carrying her right in Harry’s direction. She tried to keep her cool as best as she could and forced a smile when he looked up and saw her.

“Hey, you’re back.”

Kennedy narrowed her eyes at him and tried her best to fake a “sexy” voice. “I’m back.” What the hell was that? She definitely sounded like she was trying too hard. She sounded like one of those strippers you would find leaning over you and smirking right in your face. She sounded ridiculous.

She swallowed hard and let out a fake cough, pretending as if her previous voice was the result of a sore throat. “I’m back,” she repeated in her normal voice and forced one more smile.

Harry eyed her with a confused expression, but soon it faded into his gorgeous grin that she had, to her dismay, become a little fond of. She held her hands behind her back and practically clawed at her arm with her nails trying to get out the anger she was feeling without being too obvious.

“Do you want to get out of here?” Harry stood up and pointed behind his back towards the door with his thumb. “It’s getting a bit noisy.”

“Sounds like a plan.”
She felt him take her hand and he began to pull her towards the door. She wanted to jerk her hand back or even dig her nails into his arm, but she knew that if she was going to get her revenge that she had to force herself to continue to hold his hand.

Harry must have been surprised that she hadn’t pulled away, because he glanced from her eyes, down to both of their hands intertwined, and then back up at her eyes. She just gave him a smile as they headed back out the door.

“So, Kennedy,” he squeezed her hand a bit as they walked down the path that led from the club towards the beach. She couldn’t help but cringe internally just at the sound of him saying her name. Now that she knew his true motives, she couldn’t help but hear the way he talked so clearly. He was obviously trying to pull her in. “What would you like to do?”

What would she like to do? I’d love to hit you with a bus right now. She kept her thoughts to herself, though, and looked up at him. “We could go back to the hotel and…hang.”

She couldn’t believe the words that had come out of her mouth. Was that her excuse for flirting? She wanted to yank out her hair at how ridiculous she sounded. As much as she tried to act like Hannah, she knew, for sure, that she was nothing like her sister. Her sister knew how to talk to boys and knew how to make them know how she felt.

And Kennedy? She knew nothing.

“Really?” Harry stopped walking, his hand still holding Kennedy’s, and stared at her. “You want to go back to the hotel with me?” She could see the skeptical look crossing his face and she couldn’t honestly blame him. She had been pulling away from him each time they met and now she wanted to go back to the hotel with him? If she were Harry her red alerts would be popping up.

“Really!” she grinned widely, obviously hiding the fact that she could puke at any moment from nerves and, still, anger. “We can hang out in my room.”

“You’re not trying to trick me, are you?”

Kennedy felt like her eyes were going to pop right out. Did he find out? How could he possibly know? There was no way he could know unless he could read her mind! Maybe he can read minds, she groaned internally, her chest hurting from all the panic she was suffering. No, no way he can do that.

She honestly felt like a deer caught in the headlights. She was supposed to be getting revenge and she was beginning to think that wasn’t going to happen. He knew. He had to know. How could he have known though?

“I’m just joking. You look like you’re gonna have a heart attack.” He pulled his free hand up and ruffled her hair. She wanted to just bite him at that moment. How dare he even touch her? But she knew if she were to bite him, he’d either find it arousing or think she was insane.

“Of course! I know that, silly!” Silly? What the fuck are you doing? She was completely losing it. He was going to catch on if she didn’t start acting normal. And she wasn’t sure she could act normal knowing his motives behind asking her out.

He obviously could tell something was off by the look of confusion he was giving her, but he shrugged it away and tugged on her hand in the direction of the hotel.

As they walked inside and neared the elevator, she could feel the panic rising again. Could she really do this? How the hell would she be able to pull it off? It wasn’t like her. She’s never done something like this. She had never been mad enough to.

But he deserved it. He deserved to be led on. She tried to keep telling herself that, but as much as she wanted to believe it, she knew that in her heart what she was doing was wrong. She knew she should probably just stop and let him know that she was on to him now.

But as she opened her mouth to spill the beans, he got his words in first. “I had such a great night with you, Kennedy. Hopefully we can have some more fun.”

He did not just… She had to contain her feelings again or else she would have ripped into him right then and there. Maybe he did deserve it. Maybe she could pull this off. She had to try at least. This guy was not going to get away with treating her like his own toy.

“Definitely,” she forced out, deciding to go forth with her plans.

As they got off the elevator, she found herself pulling him down the hall towards both of their rooms. When her door was coming up quick, she realized how stupid this idea was. She was going to bring him into her room and fuck with his head? What was she thinking? There was a possibility that if she did that, he wouldn’t leave!

She had to think quick. She had to get her revenge, but how? There was no way she was letting him in her room. So…that left them with his.

“Oh shit!” Kennedy sighed as she leaned against her door, letting go of Harry’s hand. She had to come up with an excuse. What could she possibly say to get them out of using her room?

“What is it?”

She thought fast. “My sister’s here. She’s not feeling too well…” That was a good enough excuse, right?

“Oh really?” She could see the concern crossing his face as his own plan was dying. Maybe she didn’t have to lead him on. Maybe her excuse was good enough for him to think it wasn’t worth it. “Well, I guess we can chill in my room.” Dammit.

She felt like she was going to begin hyperventilating any minute now as she watched him swipe his card through the door and push it open. She didn’t want to hang out with him. She had to make her move now. She had to do something. But what? What could she do?

As her feet carried her through the door, she knew it was now or never. It was time to finish this once and for all.

Harry closed the door and began to turn towards Kennedy. “So, what do you want to–” He didn’t get the chance to finish as Kennedy pushed him against the wall. Keep calm…you can do this… She kept her eyes on him as she thought quick on her next move. And her next move led her to pressing her lips against his.

She couldn’t help but feel a bit of success as she could tell how surprised and caught off guard he was. He stood frozen for a while, his eyes wide, as Kennedy pushed herself against him harder.

As much as she didn’t want to admit it, and she really didn’t want to admit it, once he settled down and placed his hands on Kennedy’s face she noticed how good of a kisser he actually was. She knew he would be good, but she never pictured herself being the recipient of said kiss.

The kiss intensified and Kennedy couldn’t help but feel herself slipping. She was actually enjoying it. She pushed her hips to his, forcing him harder against the wall as she deepened the kiss. She slipped her tongue across his bottom lip, which rewarded her with a quick moan on Harry’s part.

Success.

She felt that she had led him on enough and tried to pull away, but found herself not being able to. She was so consumed in the way Harry’s lips felt that she couldn’t find it in her to pull away.

And she knew there was no way Harry was letting her go now. He pushed forward against her and she found herself stumbling backwards as his hands met the bottom of her shirt. She wanted to pull away at that moment again but, once again, found herself unable to stop kissing Harry. Why was this happening? She didn’t want this. He was a sleaze and she just wanted to teach him a lesson.

So why was she still kissing him?

When her legs hit the bed, she found herself grabbing him by the shirt and flipping their positions, before pushing him down against the bed.

“Oh, you want to be in charge, huh?” he smirked up at her as he yanked his shirt over his head and tossed it away. “Whatever you want.”

“Just shut up.” She was completely stressing out as she turned away from Harry. “Give me a moment.”

“Whatever you need, love.”

She took several deep breaths as she tried to calm down. All she had to do was turn around and admit that she didn’t want him. That she knew what he was up to. She just had to come clean and tell him off.

She placed her hand on her chest as it moved rapidly up and down. Why had she kissed him? Why couldn’t she just have said some slutty words to him and call it quits? She just had to go and lose herself in the idiot.

After one last deep breath, Kennedy turned quickly and soon wished she hadn’t. Her eyes went wide and her face completely turned red as she stared at Harry…who was laying on the bed completely naked.

She looked away quickly, trying her best not to look back down at him. She began to wonder why he was like this. Why did this guy have to go after her? Why couldn’t she just have been left alone?

As her eyes wandered everywhere other than Harry, she found herself staring at a box with something shiny in it under his nightstand. “What’s that?” She moved towards it and kneeled down, pulling it right out.

She finally glanced back at Harry, completely shocked that he had a box of handcuffs just sitting in his room. “Why in the world do you have these?”

“You never know when you’re gonna need them,” he shrugged, a smile appearing on his face and she could only think that it came with dirty intentions. “Why, do you want to use them?”

She was prepared to say no, but a new idea popped in her mind. She looked back down at the box and smirked, pulling out a couple of pairs.

“Why don’t we?”

She knew exactly how she was going to get her revenge now. Maybe it wasn’t right, but she didn’t care. He had completely used her and he thought he was going to get what he wanted. But she wasn’t going to let him have that satisfaction.

She tried to steady her hands as she grabbed Harry’s wrist and quickly cuffed it to the bed. She felt a bit of satisfaction, knowing that this was going to work. She wasn’t only going to make him pay, but she was going to humiliate him.

She worked her way around the bed and soon enough finished handcuffing both his hands and his legs. She stood at the end of the bed, avoiding his lower part as she stared right into his eyes.

“Do whatever you want, babe. You’re in control.”

She just smirked and crossed her arms. “Nah, I think I’m good.”

“What are you talking about?” Harry raised an eyebrow at her, wondering why the hell she wasn’t all over him yet.

“I actually think I’m going to head back to my room. It’s been such a long day.” She turned around and began to head towards the door.

“You’re kidding, right?” Harry’s tone completely changed and she was sure she could hear a bit of worry in it. “Whatever, if you’re leaving then let me out of these.”

“Yeah, I don’t think I will.”

She could feel him staring at her now. She knew that behind her he was looking a bit panicked and wondering if she was serious. She wanted nothing more than to just laugh and show him that he was screwed.

“You can’t just leave me in them! Stop joking around and unlock me!” Harry pulled on the cuffs, jiggling them so that she would hear his silent pleas. “Kennedy.”

“You sure are something, aren’t you?” She finally turned around and faced him. She could let him down easy now, right? “You really thought that you had me, didn’t you?”

“I have no idea what the hell you’re talking about.”

“Oh, but don’t you? Isn’t this your game? Trying to seduce women into sleeping with you?”

Harry’s face dropped and his eyes went wide. He had been caught. But how could she have known? Kennedy just laughed, reading his face and knowing exactly what he was thinking at that moment.

“I ran into your little friend from last night. The girl you screwed over.”

“Fine, you caught me. Big deal. Now let me out.” Harry shook his hands again, his mood completely dropping. Not only was he not getting what he wanted, but he didn’t want to be tied to this bed anymore.

“No,” she mumbled as she crossed her arms. She wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction of hurting her feelings and then getting off so easy.

“What do you mean no? Let me out!”

“I won’t. Have a nice time, Harry.” She turned back around and headed towards the door again. When her hand met the doorknob, she could hear the jingling of the handcuffs hitting the bed again.

“You can’t just leave me like this!”

Kennedy turned to face him again, completely pissed. “You think you are so sly, don’t you? You think just because you have great looks that you can get away with whatever the hell you want. Well you can’t! You can’t just treat people like they’re yours to play with, you idiot!”

“Look, I’m sorry. Just please let me–”

“No! If you want out so bad, then you find a way. Because I’m done here,” she laughed a bit as she tossed the keys to the handcuffs across the room. “I got my revenge, so I’m good.”

“Jokes on me, okay? You got your stupid revenge. Now. Let. Me. Out.” His face scrunched up in anger as he clenched his teeth. “Let me out!”

“I’m sorry, but this isn’t my problem anymore,” she smirked as she pulled the door open. A little part of her felt bad as she heard his pleas for her to come back, but she held tough and rushed out into the hallway, slamming the door shut behind her.

Relief crossed over her as she leaned against the wall. She had never done anything like that. She was usually like a doormat that everyone walked all over. But now she finally stood up for herself. She finally made someone know not to mess with her.

And it felt good.

Sorry, Harry. But don’t you know the saying? Payback’s a bitch.
