Giving up My Humanity and My Servitude to a Vampire

Why You?

Dinner, on the third night, was unbearable. Though I was glad to have my family with me, I couldn't help but to feel something important missing; Matthew. Who knew what they were doing to him and not knowing was worse than any pain.

God, I missed him already. His touch, his smell and his reassuring smile. I wanted to run and get him, but then, my family would be left unprotected and they had to come first, always.

{Matthew's Point of View}

"I'm going to ask one last time, where is the headquarters?!"

I remained silent and kept a blank face. He hits me again with his whip, with much greater force than the previous one. I arched my back instinctively in pain but not moan or groan escaped my lips.

My hands tied together above me. I faced the brick walls of the cold dungeon in the Chanel palace.

"Where is the headquarters?!" He gripped my hair and pulled it back and my head along with it. I gritted my teeth and glared at the officer. His eyes red in anger and a sadist smile on his face. He threw my head back and stepped back and he hit me again with the whip.

"Stop." The voice belonged to a female.

I looked down at the ground and thought of Emily.

[At least she's with her family again.] I thought.

I felt them move me but the pain blinded me and so did the darkness. The only light source came from the moon that hit the little opening above me.

From the shadows stepped out a red-haired women. Elizabeth. I could barely make her out because my face was slightly swollen from my eye from the punches of the officer with the whip.

Her cold, dead, hand gripped my jaw and made me look her in the eyes.

"We do not wish to hurt Emily, or her family. We just need to talk to her and things would go a lot smoother if you would just tell us where the headquarter is." She cooed.

I tried to smile but it hurt and it when I chuckled it took my breath away.

"Do...you really think...I will tell you?" I said between gasps of pain.

"Your life depends on it." She stated with a cold glare.

"My life would mean nothing if I knew Emily was in your grasp because of me." I said.

Her cold hand made contact with my cheek.

"You are lucky your parents fled the country or otherwise they would be dead."

I was glad they fled the country. Maybe to Brazil or Spain, as long as they were far away from here.

She stormed out of the room with a cry of anger which only made me happier to see her suffer.

On the third night, Edward came to visit.

I sat on the far corner of my cell. I had dranked from a near rat. I was used to it since I drank animal blood back in the headquarters with Emily.

"Leave us." Edward ordered, the guards behind the bars obeyed, skepitcally, but left us alone.

Edward paced back and forth in front of me. He had something to say and he blocked his mind from mine. (Matt blocked his mind so they wouldn't read his mind and get the information they wanted.)

My eyes followed him and I was getting annoyed.

"If you have something to say, then just fucking say it!" I barked.

He stopped in his tracks and looked at me.

"Why you? I mean, why did she chose you? All I ever did was love her and protect her!! Why did she chose you?!" He accused me with his finger and I rolled my eyes.

He was desparate for answers, he ran his hand through his brown hair.

"I gave her up for her own safety. Mother would've killed her if I didn't."

This got my curious.

"What are you talking about?" I asked. "You bit her and then turned your back and married someone else."

"After I bit her mother's guards took her away from me and made an ultimatum, either I married Anne, and keep the family line pure, or Emily dies." He confessed.

So he didn't betrayed her. He never did. He loved her so much that he gave her up. He saved her life, while I...made it hard.

I didn't deserve Emily, Edward did and his actions proved it. But I still love her unconditionally. She loved me back, she was certain she didn't love Edward and she had proved it to me.

Poor Edward.

{Emily's Point of View}

I silently cried on my pillow on the fourth night of Matt's kidnapping. I couldn't stand the pain anymore, the hallow feeling in the middle of my chest. To wake up every morning and not have his deep blue eyes looking at me like he had just found a long lost treasure.

There was two light knocks on my door. I sniffed and told the person to come in. By the steps and scent I knew it was Olivia.

"Emily." She whispered, I felt the bed shift up when Olivia sat on the edge of my bed. I got into a sitting position and smiled.

"Olivia-olive." I said, reaching out my hand for her, she took it and placed it on her cheek, she closed her eyes.

"You're cold." She whispered, I took my hand back and smiled faintly .

"Yes, I'm always cold." I said looking my hand. I shook my head and looked at her. She had grown so much, physically as well. She had well formed body. Her black hair went well with her eyes. Her heart-shaped face, and her full lips.

"You'll get him back, you'll see." She encouraged.

"Thank you." I said. "I need him."

"You love him?" She asked, I looked her in the eyes and laughed a bit.

"With all of my heart and my entire soul belongs to him." I confessed with a chuckle. "That's if I have one." I mumbled to myself.

"Why?" She asked, she tilted her head. "Why do you love him?"

"Because he loves me as well. He makes me feel all sorts of emotions at the same time. Sometimes I feel like a fool for falling so hard but I don't regret anything. When you fall in love, you'll know." I told her.

She looked away with a blush on her cheeks and a perticular smile on her lips. I cock an eyebrow.

"You're already in love." I stated.

"Did you read my mind?" She asked.

I chuckled. "I didn't need to. Your face said it all. Who is it?"

She giggled. "William."

I blinked several times and my smile faded a bit.

"William, as in werewolf William?" I asked.

Sure, werewolves could stop not aging if they wanted to, I mean, William still looked like he was seventeen, like me.

"Is there something wrong?" She asked.

"Uh, he's a werewolf." I said.

"Uh, I know." She scoffed. "He said he has imprinted on me."

William had once mentioned about this imprinting thing. Werewolves were able to find soul mates. When they found their soul mates, by making eye contact with them, they would forever be bound to them.

A lot like love at first sight thing.

I guess I was too wrapped up in my own misery to notice how William looked at Olivia during dinner. I never had noticed, but he looked at her the way Matt and I looked at each other.

I smiled genuinely at Olivia.

"I'm glad you've found love, Olivia."

She squealed in delight.

"Oh, I knew you would understand."

"And you're okay with him being a werewolf?"

"You were okay when you found out about Matthew?"

"No, I actually freaked out." I confessed. "It's a long story for another time, sweety."

"Well, I'm not freaked out. There are worst things that werewolves in this world."

"Yeah, vampires." I teased.

We both laugh.

"You should go save him." Olivia said, seriously in less than a second.

I became serious and shook my head.

"Your and your brothers' safety must come first." I pointed out.

Olivia groaned and got off the bed a bit angry.

"Stop worrying about us for a change! You've given up everything possible thing for us. Take care of yourself instead of us!" She yelled.

"But without you there is no me to take care of."

"We'll be fine, we have William, his dad and not to mention the fact that they don't know where we are." She pointed.

This was tempting.

"I would never forgive myself if something happened to any of you." I retorted.

"And would you forgive yourself if Matthew dies knowing you could've done something, that you could've saved him?!"

Her words hurt like no sword or bullet could ever hurt me.

"Go tonight, I won't tell anyone." She whispered.

I smiled at her and nodded.

"You're right. I have to save him... or die trying." I got off the bed and ran to my closet and opened the doors and looked at my weapons.
