Don't Forget

Humbert Day

“I thought today was a Wonder-Boy day.” Connor said pushing Mia’s legs so that there was room for him to plop on the couch next to her.

“Excuse you!” Mia said putting her feet across his lap, “Beatrice got sucked into going to a wedding and she always uses Eric as her beard for family functions.” She smirked, “So today’s your special day Humbert.”

“Don’t call me that.”

“Don’t call Eric Wonder-Boy.” Mia shrugged, “It’s rude.”

“What I call him is actually accurate.” Connor said, “He thinks he’s all bad with his dragon tattoo but you hit him with your puppy-dog eyes and he turns to fucking mush. Plus he’s all protective and nice.” Connor shivered.

“You get over protective.”

“I get jealous there’s a difference.”

“Humbert get’s jealous too.” Mia snorted, “Don’t want your Lolita going on any long trips?”

“Mia if I was preying on you everyone would know it.” Connor smirked, “I’m not very good at keeping secrets.”

“I don’t think that’s true.” Mia shook her head. She moved so that she was straddling him, “I think you’re a master at your feelings especially hiding them. Isn't that how you trained me?” Mia tilted her head to one side as she fidgeted with the end of his T-shirt. It was a game they played. Mia would push the boundaries that Connor had set for their relationship from day one, “There are still some gaps in my training you know. Eric’s taught me how to kiss already”-

“What else has he taught you?” Connor asked.

Mia smirked and shrugged. In a few swift movements, Connor had Mia pinned under him his knees pressing her thighs apart. This was new. Usually Mia invaded the personal space bubble and eventually Connor would do something to turn it much more innocent than Mia’s intentions. Like tickling her until she ran away. Mia wasn't sure how to respond to this.

“You wanna play hardball? Fine, I’ll play.” Connor said. His icy-blue eyes weren't blinking. Mia was afraid she’d lose herself so she closed her eyes instead of looking at him, “Where does he touch you Mia?”

“What?” Mia’s head was all fuzzy. He was so close. It was intoxicating. Her ran his fingers through the tangles at the back of Mia’s head and pulled so that her neck was more exposed to him. He kissed her down her neck and Mia’s legs clenched involuntarily. Connor laughed and pulled away setting her free. Mia’s face felt like it would burn off, “That wasn't fair!”

“Life’s not fair.” Connor snorted as he continued to laugh at her, “We shouldn't play that game anymore anyway. You have a boyfriend.”

“So what? Eric doesn't know anything we do here.” Mia shrugged, “I've already told him that you've got seniority over him, he’s getting over it.”

“Yeah by fucking hating me.” Connor scuffed.

“Maybe a little,” Mia said holding up her fingers to indicate a tiny space between her index finger and her thumb.

Connor shook his head, “You just go for what you want no matter what don’t you.”

“It’s how you taught me.” Mia shrugged, “If I play my cards right I can always have my cake and eat it too.”

Connor shook his head again.“I taught you how the world works and you decided to conquer it.”

“Potato Tomato.” Mia snorted.
