Ineffable Plan

Thirty-Three

It was about two in the afternoon and Aaron and I were still lying in his bed. His arms were wrapped around me and I could feel his breath on my cheek every time he exhaled. My legs were tangled with his and whenever I moved I felt his hot skin against mine. As I moved closer to him, I felt his had sweep across my back.

"I love you." Aaron mumbled running his hand over my bare stomach. His eyes were still closed and I wasn't sure if he was really awake.

"I love you too." I whispered back.

I ran my fingers down the side of his face to his neck and across his chest, taking in the bright red blush on his skin. I smiled softly to myself at the memory of the past couple of hours.

I heard footstep coming towards Aaron's room and pulled the blankets up higher. As the door burst open, I buried my face into the crook of his neck.

"Go away, Julian." Aaron chucked a pillow, from under his head, at his brother. "We're busy."

"No you're not." Julian answered. I could hear his smile. "I made sure you two were done before I came up here. By the way, nice job on de-flowering the virgin, she enjoyed it."

I sharply turned my head to look at him. "Julian!"

He simply tapped his temple before continuing. "We're taking a trip to our world."

"Can I come?" I asked with surprising enthusiasm.

Aaron turned my head to face him. He shook his head slowly.

"Why not? You said you were going to take me there one day."

"Not today, baby love. It's not safe. Not yet."

I looked up at the doorway to see that Julian had disappeared. Aaron was climbing out of bed and getting dressed. I watched as he put his jeans and shirt on and then his sneakers.

"Where are you going?" I asked sitting up, holding the sheets over my chest.

"To feed. I'll be back in a little bit." He walked over to me and kissed my forehead lightly before disappearing.

**********

It's been about fifteen minutes since Aaron left. His brothers went the other world a little after he left. I was in the kitchen making a sandwich when I heard footsteps in the living room.

"Justine, where are you?" It was Aaron.

"I'm in the kitchen." I asked frowning slightly. He usually just sniffed around the house to find me. The scent of my blood was supposedly strong and easy to follow.

I sat at the counter as he entered the room. "Hey. That was quick." I said turning to face him. He smiled and I got a funny feeling in the pit of my stomach.

"Are you okay?" I asked looking closely at him.

Aaron nodded and sat at the stool next to me. "You're beautiful." He said; his voice barely above a whisper. He was leaning towards me and his fingers pushed roughly through my hair stopping at the back of my head. Suddenly he pushed my head forward and his lips crashed into mine nearly violently. One hand tangled into my hair, while the other pressed my body against his. He was freezing and I shuddered under his touch. I pushed away from him, managing to break the contact between our lips, but not our bodies.

He smiled again and I flinched back trying to move away from him, but his hand in my hair and around my waist kept me in place. His smile grew and my eyes opened to the size of saucers. He looked like a maniac, grinning from ear to ear with his fangs protruding and piercing his bottom lip. Blood slid down his lip, leaving droplets of blood on his shirt. My stomach lurched and pained slowly radiated through my body. Oh, no. The feeling had come back.

"Aaron?" I whispered quietly.

Almost painfully slowly, his head shook from left to right, the crazed look still in his eyes. "No." I gasped slightly from the deep gruff voice that came out of his mouth. "Not Aaron." He spoke so slowly and calmly. It was very unnerving. I was suddenly having trouble breathing. My entire body ached.

His fangs lifted from his lips and more blood bubbled out before the wound healed. I squirmed to get away from him but his grip on my hair tightened and I screamed out in pain. I could feel my hair being pulled out by the roots. His hand dug into my side, his nails piercing the skin. "Where are they?"

I shook my head slightly but stopped when I felt his nails dig deeper into my skin. Suddenly there was sound heard upstairs and then another Aaron was in front of us. In flash I was spun around and I felt the cold steel of a knife at my neck.

"Don't move, Aaron." He warned. "I will kill her."

Aaron's fingers twitched and suddenly the knife slid a centimeter across my throat. I felt the warm liquid slide down my neck.

"I'm not kidding around, Aaron. She'll be dead and I'll be long gone before you even move a foot. That's not what you want, is it?" Aaron didn't respond but he didn’t move either. "Good."

"I can see why you're so fond of her." I felt something rub against the side of my neck and out of the corner of my eyes I could see that he had his nose pressed into my skin. He didn't look like Aaron anymore. He had white hair and olive skin that seemed to be tinged with a slick green sheen. His hand, on my waist, felt wet and almost slimy.

I looked away from him and let my eyes focus on Aaron. His eyes were not on me but on the man holding me hostage. I could see the fear in his eyes but behind it was a lethal primal rage. His normal brown eyes were a murderous black. I wouldn't want to be on the other end of that gaze.

"What do you want, Eisle?" Aaron had finally found his voice. I flinched at the harsh sound of it. It was obvious that he was trying to keep himself from completely losing it.

"Did you really think that we wouldn't come for her?" I felt the man's head shake against mine. "You should have walked away, Aaron. The first night you met her, you should have turned the other way. But you were being selfish. You only thought of what you wanted; about how lonely you were; about how you couldn't live without her. Well, Aaron, she can't live with you. There's a very big possibility that she'll die because of you. You knew the risks. Now let the chips fall where they may."
