Chapter 38
I have no clue what time it is all i do know is that its light out and we've landed in Sydney. Ash and I were like zombies moving through security and baggage claim. I honestly don't even remember getting on the 2nd plane from Dubai but obviously we did as we are here. As we were waiting for my suitcase my phone buzzed. A message from my dad saying he was at the airport.
"My dads here" i said to Ash
"Is Ayla with him' he asked
"I don't know, he just said he was here, maybe she is with your mum"
"Yeah Maybe, theres your case" he said going to get it off the belt.
we brought it back to me and we headed towards the arrivals where my dad should be. Ash wrapped his arm around me and i leaned into him as we walked, we truly were just on auto mode, not fully aware of what we were doing but knowing enough to move in the right direction. We went through the nothing to declare doors and into arrives, i looked around the people, it was busy which gives us an idea of the time, we must be mid afternoon or something. I looked around and then i saw it. My dad and Ayla in his arms and him holding a sign in front of Ayla saying "Welcome home mummy and daddy" I smiled as my dad and i made eye contact
"Over there babe" i said to Ash
his face lit up when he saw Ayla
"don't be alarmed if she doesn't remember you right away, she probably wont with me either" I said as we started walking over.
"i know" he mumbled
But i was so very wrong, when she saw Ash she reached out her arms and started waving them around for Ash to take her from my dad. i laughed, why did i ever think it would take her a minute to recognise him, shes still very much a daddys girl. Ash had a smug face on as he took her
"Hey baby girl, miss me" he said kissing the top of her head, she pushed her hand onto his face and he pretended to nibble at it and she giggled
i turned to my dad
"hey daddy" i said hugging him
"Hey sweetheart, have a good time" he asked
"Yeah, good to be home though"
"good to have you back, shes getting to be a handful, crawling is your worst nightmare"
"oh no, is she really moving now" i asked
"only a little, but more than she was at the beginning of the week"
before i left she was scooting along the floor and slightly figuring out crawling, i didn't think by a week she would be on all fours.
"Hey Jay" Ashton said from beside me
"Hey Ash, good to see you"
"Good to see you too"
"shall we head out" Dad said
"yeah lets go"
"you want to go to mummy" Ash said trying to pass her over, but nope, no love for mummy.
i just laughed.
"don't worry babe, i still love you" Ash laughed
"She's lucky shes cute" i said
"takes after her father"
"yeah" i rolled my eyes, even though it is true; shes a mini Ash in girl form.
We got to my dads car and he put my case in the boot while Ash put Ayla in her seat, i took the back seat leaving Ash the front passengers. Once we were moving, i looked over At Ay and she was staring at me and then moved her hands wanting me to lift her out
"too late for that now sweetie" i said taking her little hand and holding it. She looked at me and started crying. i love her but being in zombie mode and having a baby crying next to you wasn't a nice feeling. i rubbed her little legs trying to calm her down.
"we'll be out in a minute" i said to her
she open and closed her mouth repeatedly which was her signal she wanted milk/boob
"dad did you bring a bottle with you" i asked
"no she had milk before we left" he replied
"She just wants you Liv" Ash said
luckily we pulled up to our drive and i was so happy seeing our house, only been gone for a week but man did i miss this place, i can't even begin to think what Ashton is feeling being home after so long.
I unbuckled her and pulled her onto my lap to get out of the back while Ash got the suitcase, dad stayed in the car
"i'll leave you to it then, if you want me to take her later so you can have a proper rest just let me know"
"okay thank you dad"
"Thanks Jay" Ash said
we went up to the frotn door and gave one last wave to my dad before we went inside and he pulled off the driveway.
"it's good to be home" Ash said
"so good" i replied.
Ayla was still making the mouth motion and pulling at my top
"okay princess hold on" i said moving her hand from the top of my shirt.
i moved into the living room and settled on the couch and finally let Ayla have what she wanted.
"See she loves you" Ash said walking in after changing into his pajamas pants and going shirtless.
"only when she wants something you cant give her"
i rested my head back on the couch and closed my eyes
"i could literally fall asleep right now, i'm exhausted"
"me too, when shes done lets go take a family nap"
"she doesn't even need this, it's just comfort right now" i said
we waited another 10 minutes before she was done and we made our way to the bedroom, i changed into an oversized shirt and shorts and climbed into bed with Ayla between us. i looked over at our clock and saw it was 4:05 which probably isn't a great time to take a nap while jet lagged but we are doing it anyways. Pretty much as soon as my head hit the pillow i was out.
I woke up and looked at the clock 6:20, so i didn't really sleep long at all. I looked over next to me and Ash was still passed out and Ayla too, it was a cute site she was pretty much on top of him and he had his arm wrapped around her. Their faces fell into the same form, with their lips slightly open and Ash's curls were over his face and her little mess of hair was all over the place too.
i got out of bed and grabbed my phone to snap a picture, i debating keeping it to myself or posting it. i decided to post it, the world needed to see the cuteness.

i watched the replies flood in while i went into the kitchen, i decided even though i could fall back to sleep Ayla needs dinner and we really need to eat too.
i pulled out some rice for Ayla and mashed up a banana while the rice heated. i put it on the high chair and let it cool while i opened the fridge and freezer trying to find something to eat. I found a frozen pizza at the back so i decided that would do and put the oven on. after waiting for it to heat up i put the pizza in before going back to the bedroom where i found Ayla on top of Ash banging her hands on his chest. He had his eyes closed so either he was sleeping on pretending, i did she his hands lightly holding her side so she doesn't fall off so i'm guessing he's awake. I picked Ayla up off him and he opened his eyes
"where did you go" he asked
"to make dinner, we're having Pizza, Ayla's is ready now"
we moved into the kitchen and i started to feed Ayla after a battle of getting her into the chair. Ash got the pizza out when the timer went off and we ate before going back to bed. We we;re together again our little family. Even if it is for a short period and a week goes fast like we saw with the previous week. But when a week is all we have we will take it.
