Rikers Island Jail Football Program

Earlier today, Connie Jenkins officially unveiled the 2012 Rikers Island Inmates football team and “The Warden’s Jailhouse” dome. Connie knew that she needed to officially change the name of the dome to pay respect to the man who gave his life making this dream a reality.

The entire football roster, and cheerleading roster were present albeit chained together. The coaching staff proudly stood behind Connie as she announced that the team would have a scrimmage the upcoming weekend to officially kick off “The Warden’s” dream of Rikers Island football. The crowd erupted in cheers, and Connie could only look up towards the sky and smile. She had made the dream a reality!
