What I Did for Love

Shocking Discovery

Ana forced a smile on her face, as she thanked the well wishers, today had been really hard, but with her family's support she was getting through it. Ana had yet to speak to Robert's family, they hadn't barely spoken to her since she arrived back in New York. Ana couldn't help but feel that they were somehow blaming her for Robert's death.

Ana watched as people paid their respect, then left as they headed for the wake. Ana noticed a woman with a small child, she smiled at Robert's family, but she shot Ana a nervous smile.

Ana walked towards her, she had never saw the woman or child before. She was a little curious about them.

Ana saw the worried look Beth shot her husband, they were clearly hiding something.

" I am sorry for your loss" the young woman said to Ana.

Ana stared at the child, he couldn't be any older than two, who would bring a child that young to a funeral.

" I am sorry, I don't know who you are" Ana said, not trying to be rude.

" She is just a friend of the family" Frank said, panicking a little.

" Why have I never met her before?" Ana asked, a little intrigued, if she was a friend of the family Robert would have introduced them.

Beth opened and closed her mouth, she couldn't lie to Ana anymore, it wasn't fair she had a right to know.

" You may as well tell her Rachel" Beth said, she knew the minute the truth was out Ana would hate her son.

" I don't think this is the right place to tell her Beth" Rachel said, she wasn't cruel.

" Ana is going find out anyway, so you may as well tell her" Frank said.

Ana looked between the three of them " Will one of you please tell me what the hell is going on" Ana hissed loudly.

" I am sorry to tell you, but Robert wasn't exactly faithful to you" Rachel said, feeling bad for Ana, she hadn't wanted this to come out especially not today.

Ana looked at Robert's parents faces and she could tell that Rachel was telling the truth, she looked down at the child and gasped, he was clearly Roberts.

Ana took a step back from them, all the tears she had cried over Robert and it turns out he was cheating on her, she felt like such a fool.

" Ana, please let us explain" Beth said, she hadn't wanted Ana to find out like this.

" There is nothing to Explain, It's clear what he was getting up to behind my back" Ana spat angrily.

" It wasn't like that" Rachel protested, Robert had never loved her like he had Ana.

" I don't want to hear your excuses" Ana yelled, she couldn't believe what she had just found out.

" Ana please" Frank said, stepping closer to Ana, they always had quite a good relationship, but the look she had just given him, told him that nothing would be the same again.

" I can't believe you lied to me, all of you" Ana hissed, before she turned and walked back to Robert's graveside.

Beth watched helplessly as Ana walked away from them, she would never forgive them for hiding their son's secret.

Marco wasn't sure why he came today, it wasn't like he knew the guy, but he had been in contact with Ana a lot recently and they had grew into uneasy friends.Marco knew she would be struggling today, so decided to fly out and support her.

Marco watched as Ana yelled at what he suspected as Robert's parents, she seemed to be upset at them and the young girl that was with them.

Marco waited till everyone left, he ignored the curious stares as they walked past him. Marco watched as Ana screamed at Robert's graveside, she seemed to be angry at him. He slowly made his way over to her, she didn't seem to notice him, she was too caught up in her own anger.

" How could you do this to me, I thought you loved me" Ana yelled at the freshly dug grave.

Ana had just finished yelling, when she spotted Marco walking towards her, she was surprised to see him here.

" Why are you here?" she asked, too wrapped up in her own anger to really care why he had come.

" I thought you could do with a friend" Marco said,.

" Are we friends?" Ana flung back at him, she was lashing out and taking it out on the wrong person.

" I would like to think we could be" Marco said.

" Then please don't lie to me" Ana whispered.

Marco stepped closer to Ana " You know it's perfectly normal to be angry today" Marco said.

" I don't know what I am feeling, I Have just found something out, that changes everything" Ana said, glaring down at the dirt.

" I am a good listener" Marco said.

Ana smiled at him, he was being nice to her and here she was shouting at him, it wasn't his fault that her dead boyfriend was a cheating rat.

Ana stared back down at the ground, " He was cheating on me" she finally said.

Marco couldn't help but feel sorry for Ana, Today would have been hard enough on her and then she finds out about his cheating, he was surprised that Ana wasn't more angry.

" How did you find out?" Marco asked.

" His girlfriend attended the funeral with their son" Ana spat.

Marco didn't know what to say, so he put his arms around her and pulled her into an Embrace, he held her tight as she fought against him, finally all fight left her and the tears came, he comforted her as she let all her pain out.

Deana looked around for Ana, but couldn't see her, she saw that Frank and Beth had arrived at the wake, with a girl and young boy, but no Ana.

" I am worried about her Henry" Deana said, they shouldn't have left her on her own.

" She will be fine, she just needs a little time" Henry said, hiding his concern, he had to be the strong one.

" I hope so" Deana mumbled as she watched Frank fuss over the young boy, he had arrived with.

Beth made her way over to them, Deana felt bad for her, no parent should bury their child.

" I am not sure Ana will be attending the wake" Beth said quietly.

Deana stared at Beth in confusion, her daughter wouldn't suddenly decide she wasn't go to come, unless something had happened.

" What has happened?" Henry asked Beth.

" Not here" Beth said, nodding her head in the direction of the kitchen. They didn't get that far as Ana's laugh rang out.

Henry glanced back at his daughter, she was laughing hysterically and she wasn't alone, a blonde guy was standing beside her, he looked vaguely familiar, but he couldn't place him.

Ana walked into the wake with Marco and started laughing Hysterically, he looked at her oddly wondering if she was on the verge of a break down.

" Ana are you okay?" Henry asked his daughter, ignoring the guy standing beside Ana for the moment.

" Define okay?" she said, reaching for a glass of white wine, she knew that people were staring at her, but she just didn't care.

" I would like to say a few words" Ana said loudly to the room.

Marco could see where she was going with this and knew it was going to end badly.

" Ana please don't" Beth begged, she didn't want people to think of her son differently.

" What is wrong?" Deana asked, looking at Ana then at Beth.

" Please don't do this Ana" Beth begged again, but Ana was too angry to care, she wanted everyone to know, what Robert had did.

" Today I buried the man, I thought loved me, the man I was going to Marry, to find out it was all lies" Ana said loudly, earning a few gasps from the crowd.

" Ana you sure you want to do this?" Marco asked.

" Yes, now stop distracting me" she hissed back at him.

" You see that Man didn't exist, he was a liar and a cheat, he had a son with another woman" Ana declared.

The tension in the room, kicked up a notch, Beth stepped towards Ana, but Henry got in her way.

" Is this true?" Henry asked, barely controlling his anger.

" Yes, but he didn't mean to hurt anyone, he loved Ana" Beth said.

" No he didn't" Ana replied bitterly, then finished her glass of wine, she was done, it was time to leave.

" Ana, please hear us out" Beth pleaded, she lost Robert she couldn't lose Ana too.

" I am done with you and your family" Ana spat coldly, then turned and fled the house, she took a deep breath as stepped outside. Ana looked back as Marco approached her, she could see the pity in his eyes and hated it.

" Come on lets go to a bar and get drunk" she said, pulling him away from the house.

" Are you sure that is a wise Idea?" Marco asked, as he looked back at Ana's parents, they were headed in their direction.

" I want to forget about today, so yes lets go" Ana said, ignoring her parents shouts, as she hailed down a taxi.

Marco had a bad feeling about this but went with Ana, someone had to keep an eye on her.
