Run Away With My Heart

“Look at you” Callie giggled, noting expression which sat on Olivia’s face. It had been a couple of days and Callie couldn’t help but be a little amused by the look on Olivia’s face. She had been grumpy since Iker had left and it made Callie smile, she doubted she had ever seen her best friend so loved up before and it was still a refreshing change. Olivia didn’t have good taste in men, she never had done, but the decision to enter into a relationship with Iker was easily the best call she had ever made. The keeper was, as he had always been, the perfect match for her and Callie was pleased to see things were working out for her. Olivia deserved to be happy and with Iker, there was no doubt that that was what she was “You’re still moping and it’s been almost 3 days since he left. Are you going to mope until you’re back in Madrid?” she giggled.

Olivia, who had been pushing her breakfast around the plate, shook her head. “What do you want Callie?” she mumbled, earning yet another laugh.

“I just wanted to say how cute you are” Callie grinned “And to inform you that Jacob and I are taking you out after breakfast to cheer you up. As cute as you moping around is, Oli, Jacob and I thought you could use a little time out” she explained.

“I don’t want to go anywhere, Cal. I want to get my work done, and then go and skype Iker” she mumbled.

Callie rolled her eyes. “Come on. We could go shopping and then get lunch. I think you and Iker are adorable, but you need to get used to the idea of not being together all of the time” she commented.

“But…”

“No buts” Callie interjected “Once you’ve finished breakfast, go and get your bag. Jacob and I are treating you” she smiled.

Olivia sighed, but nodded her head, knowing deep inside of her that Callie was right. It was somewhat sad, the notion that Olivia had become so consumed by her and Iker that she couldn’t function properly without him, but she didn’t want to mope. She knew that he was fine, that he was behaving himself and not doing anything that was likely to cause them any sort of problem, and that should have been enough for her. “Alright” Olivia murmured “I’ll go with you, but you and Jacob are so treating me” she noted.

Callie scoffed. “Why?” she posed.

“Because you never bought me an engagement gift?” Olivia quipped.

Callie sighed. “Fine” she noted.

Olivia grinned. “You love me, Cal” she giggled.

Callie rolled her eyes. “You’re very lucky I do” she teased gently.

“Look who’s not staring at her laptop screen” Jacob grinned, greeting Olivia with a small hug.

“Your lovely girlfriend suggested that I ought to come out and I am a little glad that I have. It’s been too long, Jacob” she smiled, hugging him tightly.

Jacob smiled before he stepped back a little, moving to introduce the other man who stood beside them. “This is Juan” he commented “He’s the boyfriend of some other reporter. I met him the other day whilst the pair of you were in that press conference” he explained, gesturing to the handsome blonde man who stood beside him. Olivia greeted him with a polite smile, but didn’t attempt to speak. She had little interest in speaking to strange men, especially ones that seemed to radiate trouble to her. “Juan, this is my girlfriend, Callie and her friend, Olivia” Jacob explained.

Juan smiled at Callie but quickly flicked his attention to the brunette who stood beside her. He recognized her, he had seen Olivia around before, and he couldn’t help but notice how attractive she was. His own girlfriend had pointed it out more than once. “Olivia” he noted gently.

Olivia merely smiled in return before she turned to Callie, engaging the other woman in conversation whilst Juan watched her. He could see why Sara was so irked that Olivia had captured Iker’s attention.

“So, you’re dating the Spanish captain yes?” Juan mused as he sat down on a bench beside Olivia, trying to engage her in conversation. It hadn’t been easy, Olivia had spent most of their day out talking with Callie and Jacob, but at last Juan had her alone. Olivia, who had been actively attempting to avoid the blonde man, nodded. “Yes, I am dating Iker. We’re engaged actually” she enthused.

Juan nodded. “That’s serious” Juan mused, shuffling a little closer to her, his eyes peeking a little away from them. Olivia caught onto the strange look, but opted to ignore it. Juan gave her the worst sort of vibes and she hoped that Jacob and Callie would be back soon. She didn’t like the idea of being anywhere near Juan. “You love him?” Juan quipped.

“Of course I do” Olivia noted as though it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Juan nodded his head vaguely before he slipped his arm around her shoulders, something which made Olivia shift away from him. “What the heck are you doing?” she posed.

Juan shrugged. “I’m just a hugger, Olivia, it’s just a thing” he mused innocently.

Olivia offered him a slightly odd look before she spotted Callie and Jacob moving back towards them, ice creams in their hands. Olivia quickly pushed herself away from Juan, who smirked a little as his phone beeped in his pocket, signaling that his work for the day was done. “I ought to go” he noted, stepping towards the trio “It was nice meeting you Callie, Olivia” he quipped, moving to press a kiss to the brunette’s cheek which Olivia greeted with the nicest smile she could muster. Juan flashed one last smile before he padded away, greeting the other brunette on the edge of the park.

“Do we have them?” he posed.

Sara nodded her head. “We have them” she confirmed gently before she peeked down at her phone, sending a selection of images of Juan and Olivia to Iker. They weren’t explicit, they weren’t overt, but they were enough. The pictures showed Juan with his arm around Olivia, they showed him kissing her cheek and her smiling back at him, and she knew that that would be enough to make Iker doubt his flawless fiancée. It would give her a shot at winning back the man she had regretted losing since they had ended things.
