Emma’s POV- July 2014
I was leaning on the wall as I watched Amelia put make up on. She put so much makeup to look natural yea my sister was something. I admit I put make up on but only when I want/need to.
“So how are things with Filip?”
I nodded at her and smiled as I replied to a text of a close friend.
“They’re going well, I got to see him when I went to see Angie” I said.
She frowned a bit.
“I wish I would have gone”
I hummed lightly and grinned.
“But then you and Mason wouldn’t of had made out” I said.
She laughed and nodded.
“So uh the boys mentioned you were seeing Martin Jones or something” I said.
She looked at me and laughed.
“You didn’t even casually bring it up”
“Why would I?” I asked.
She shrugged and hummed lightly.
“That was like in January. We met at the Tip a King event and we bumped into each other at a bar. We ended up at his place and you know”
“What stopped it?” I asked.
“He got to clingy, wanted to take me out on dates”
I laughed.
“Lia, no offense but how is that bad?” I asked her.
She looked at me.
“I didn’t want a relationship though”
I nodded and crossed my arms.
“You and Mason are in a relationship though? Right” I asked.
Angie would kill her if they were just sleeping with each other.
“Yea, we haven’t slept with each other though”
I rolled my eyes and she smiled.
“What?”
“A relationship isn’t just about having sex Lia” I said.
“I know! I was kidding!”
“You better be, that’s Angie’s bestfriend” I reminded her.
“I know he is, that’s kind of why not many people don’t know. Please keep it to yourself”
I looked at her.
“Ok, but I do like him so don’t break his heart” I said.
“I won’t, I actually do like him”
I nodded.
“So, is Jones as good as he looks?” I asked as I confirmed my plans with my friend.
She looked at me and started laughing.
“You did not just say that!”
I shrugged and she smiled.
“Kinda, he’s great but”
She shook her head and finished putting on her mascara.
“Not my type”
I nodded.
“What’d you and Filip do?”
“Just hung out and ate” I admitted making her nod.
“Martin still isn’t over me, Josh mentioned that he always looks at out seats before the game starts”
“How’d they find out?” I asked.
She sighed and shook her head.
“Martin called them over after a game. Asked if I was doing ok. Josh figured it out and told him I was incredibly busy with work and all. That’s why I didn’t go to the parade. He would have seen me and then you know thought I wanted to talk with him”
I nodded slowly.
“Wow” I said.
She nodded.
“I miss being home because I forget how soap operaish our life is” I said making her laugh.
“You’ll have your own soap in Nashville now though! James Neal was traded to the Predators over the summer”
I looked at her.
“You’re serious?” I asked.
She nodded.
“I don’t think Angie knows, and if she does she’s keeping cool about it”
“I wonder if they dated” I said.
She shrugged.
“I don’t know and not even Ella and Liv know”
“She probably just slept with him and you guys are making things up” I said.
“Maybe, but god if she did. Lucky her”
“Wasn’t he eww looking before?” I asked.
“I guess, but he was nice and that’s what matters. Right Emma”
I laughed.
“So you’re just dating Filip because of his good looks?”
I shook my head and smiled.
“No, of course not. He’s a total gentleman and we talk about the weirdest things. I like it” I said.
She smiled and nodded.
“Gosh Emma, you’re blushing”
“Shut up” I told her making her laugh.
“It’s so cute”
“You can take a cab to the airport” I said.
“You wouldn’t”
I smiled and nodded, I would.
“Ok, I’ll shut up”
I nodded and she hummed lightly.
“You and Max haven’t spent as much time together”
“All he does is pout” I said.
“Well his foot does look disgusting Ems”
I nodded.
“True, but it’s not my fault. I told him we could go out but he’s refusing to use the wheelchair and he gets tired limping around” I said.
“That’s true”
I nodded and shrugged.
“I still go bug him” I said.
She nodded.
“So what are you doing today?”
“Uh well after I drop you off I’m having lunch with Jackie” I said.
“Cool, take Mason with you. The loser is probably going home and do nothing”
I laughed and nodded.
“Jackie is lovely as well, it will keep him entertained”
I laughed and nodded. Jackie was my closest girlfriend. She was a childhood friend and I did consider her my bestfriend.
“When does school start?”
“I move in the second week of August” I said.
She pouted.
“You can come visit” I said.
She smiled.
“I know, Angie has beds in her house. I would also get to meet Filip”
I nodded at her.
“You would” I said.
She smiled and she finished up her makeup. We went downstairs and bumped into Mason who had just arrived.
“Morning” I told him.
He nodded and my dad and mom left. Josh and Andy left a couple of minutes later and I got to witness them being gross.
“When do you go back to school?”
I looked at Mason and smiled.
“In like a month” I said.
He nodded and I grinned.
“Why? Want the house to yourselves?” I asked.
He blushed and I laughed.
“I’m kidding. Are you going to Thanksgiving dinner?” I asked him.
He nodded and laughed.
“Angie would kill me if I didn’t”
I nodded and hummed.
“Got another reason” I said winking at them.
Lia rolled her eyes and he laughed.
“I guess”
“What time do you have to be at work?” I asked.
“I had a meeting already, I’m done for the day”
“Well, you can come drop her off” I said.
He nodded and we made our way to my car.
“Nice car”
I nodded and thanked him. He sat in the back with her, and they made out like teenagers the whole way there. Once I dropped her off I looked at him.
“Lunch?” I asked him.
“Sure”
I nodded and made a stop at where I was set to . He was due to fly to Denver tomorrow for a meeting. Today he didn’t have much to do except email a few contractors. He could do that later on at his house.
“So, you’re seeing a guy?”
I nodded and took a sip of my lemonade.
“Yea, since April” I said making him nod.
“Treating you well?”
I nodded at him and he smiled.
“Good, so is Angie seeing someone?”
“I actually don’t know, have you not spoken to her?” I asked.
“I have, but she doesn’t mention anyone”
I smiled at Jackie who put her bag down on the chair.
“Hi guys! I need to go to the bathroom. Order me my usual”
I nodded and she walked away. Mason shook his head slowly and looked at me.
“How are you two so close?”
I smiled at Mason.
“My mom says I keep Jackie out of trouble. Tell her right from wrong” I said
He laughed and nodded.
“That you do”
I looked at him.
“You know what went on?” I asked.
He looked at me.
“I’m her bestfriend of course I know”
“What happened?” I asked.
He smiled.
“I can’t tell you”
“What if I guess?” I asked.
He signaled for me to start and I nodded.
“Ok, we’re they dating?” I asked.
He laughed.
“James Neal doesn’t date now, and he didn’t date back then”
“So they were just sleeping with each other?” I asked.
“Kinda”
I nodded slowly.
“Ask her yourself, I’m sure she will tell you”
“How do you not tell Amelia these things” I said amazed.
He laughed and shrugged.
“It’s not Amelia’s business. Angie is my bestfriend and I’m not going to blurt out secrets”
I nodded and smiled.
“I knew there was a reason why I liked you” I said.
“So what’s your boyfriend’s name? He is your boyfriend right?”
I nodded at him.
“Yes he is, his name is Filip” I said.
He looked at me.
“Forsberg?”
I nodded and watched as Jackie made her way over.
“Yea, how do you know his name?” I asked.
“He’s a top prospect. I keep up with hockey”
I nodded and Jackie sat down. Just as she sat down the waitress made her way over. We ordered our food and once we were done ordering Jackie looked at me.
“So Jackie, how’s life?”
She looked at him and smiled.
“Great, I picked up surfing. Who’s the boy on your snapchat?”
I smiled and laughed.
“That would be Filip” I said.
Her eyes got a bit wide and she grinned.
“Is Filip your boyfriend?”
I nodded and she squealed earning some looks from people.
“Oh my god! Ahh I’m so happy for you! When can I meet him?”
I looked at her and shrugged making her pout a little.
“He’s a busy guy Jackie, he’s a hockey player”
Jackie hummed and wiggled her eyebrows. She then leaned over and smiled.
“Is he as flexible as they say?”
I smiled and shrugged as Mason groaned.
“I wouldn’t know Jackie. I haven’t slept with him” I said.
She huffed a bit as she leaned back.
“Cause there is this guy back up North. He’s a hockey player as well”
Mason looked at her.
“I thought you were up there for school”
She laughed.
“My roommate is from San Jose. She takes me home with her all the time. We met at an icecream place. It was after a game and well I didn’t know who he was. My roommate doesn’t keep up with her hockey so she didn’t know as well. He’s a sweetheart”
“What’s his name?” I asked.
“Matthew”
I nodded and Mason asked for a lastname.
“Nieto”
I pulled out my phone and googled him. Mason leaned closer to me to look at the screen.
“Click on his Stats”
I laughed and did so. A picture of him appeared and I shrugged a bit. He was 5’11 born 1992 in Long Beach.
“He went to Boston University” I said.
She nodded and smiled.
“He didn’t finish though”
I nodded.
“Is he nice to you?” I asked.
She nodded.
“He’s a total gentleman. I haven’t really spoken to him this summer though. I don’t know if he’s in Cali right now actually”
I nodded and she looked at her hands.
“You know how I am”
I nodded, Jackie was loud but she was shy when it came to boys.
“Enough about me, show me a picture of this Filip”
I showed her a picture and she awwed when she saw the picture.
“He’s so handsome! He has a bit of a baby face, but damn Emma get it. He looks foreign”
I nodded.
“Swedish” I said.
She grinned.
“Swedish men are male models, lucky bitch”
Mason just laughed and thanked the waitress as she handed us our food.
“He treats you well?”
I nodded and Jackie smiled.
“I have to meet him!”
I smiled and nodded.
“When he’s in town” I told her making her nod.
“I love him already!”
I laughed and shook my head. Jackie would probably freak him out a bit, but he’d grow used to her. She was my bestfriend afterall. Later that night Jackie followed him on instagram and liked a bunch of his pictures. I got an excuse to see videos of when he got drafted. He looked damn adorable on his draft day.
