Emma’s POV- December 2014
Filip took a bite of his omelet and looked down at Winnie who was wagging his tail at him. I smiled and took a bite of my omelet.

“Is he always this friendly?”

I laughed when Winnie tried to get Filip to scratch his head.

“No” I said.

Filip looked at me and nodded. He laughed when the dog whined because Filip wasn’t paying attention to him.

“Winnie” I scolded.

The Beagle let out a small whine and sat on his bottom. We heard the doorbell ring and Winnie ran to go bark.

“Must be the wine” I said standing up.

Filip raised an eyebrow.

“For New Years, I just need to sign somethings off” I said.

He nodded and I made my way to the front door. I opened the door and smiled at the two men. Willy and TJ, they were a year older than me but I grew up around them.

“Hi guys, come on in” I said picking Winnie up.

He growled at them as they walked in with the boxes of wine.

“Come on Winnie, you’ve met us before”

He barked at them and I shook my head as we made our way into the kitchen. I put Winnie outside and he barked at them from the glass door. TJ handed me a clipboard and I looked at the numbers.

“Your mom ordered 12 boxes, how much wine are you guys going to drink?”

I laughed and signed off my name.

“There’s a lot of us, aren’t you guys coming?” I asked.

They shook their head and I frowned.

“Why not?” I asked handing the clipboard back to TJ.

“We’re going to Cabo”

I laughed and nodded.

“So are you going to introduce us to your boyfriend?”

I nodded and turned to Filip who was taking a sip of his orange juice.

“Yes I am, you guys never let me get to that” I said.

TJ laughed and nodded.

“We know who he is. Talked to Jackie and you know”

Will nodded and made his way over to Filip.

“I’m Will, a family friend”

Filip shook his hand.

“Filip”

Will smiled and nodded.

“We know, you’re kind of a hotshot in the hockey community at the moment”

I laughed and nodded. Filip was the Rookie of the Month for November. Filip also had a good laugh this morning when he saw his roster picture was next to a picture of Jonathan Quick.

“I’m TJ”

Filip shook their hand and they talked for a bit. Will’s phone began ringing and he pulled it out of his pocket. He looked at the screen and hummed lightly.

“Well we must go”

I nodded and they hugged me.

“It was nice meeting you Filip”

Filip nodded and TJ grinned at Winnie who began barking at them again.

“Love you too Winnie!”

I laughed and led them to the door.

“I like him”

I nodded and they both nodded.

“Take care of yourself Emma”

“You too” I said as they left.

I closed the front door and Andy made his way down the stairs.

“Wine?”

I nodded and he walked into the kitchen.

“Nice, mom got the good wine”

I raised an eyebrow.

“You’re not even allowed to drink” I said.

Andy smiled as he held a bottle.

“But you can’t get drunk” I told him.

Winnie let out a whine and Andy looked up.

“He growled at Will and TJ?”

I nodded and he made his way to the door. He let Winnie back inside and he wagged his tail at Filip again.

“That’s fucking werid”

Filip looked at Andy as he began scratching Winnie’s head.

“What?”

“He doesn’t warm up to guys like he did with you” I said.

Filip looked at Winnie who stuck out his tongue and wagged his tail.

“Oh”

I nodded and I took a bite of my omelet.

“Why do you guys need so much wine?”

Andy looked at me.

“You didn’t tell him”

“Dad told him” I said.

Filip nodded slowly and Andy leaned against the wall.

“We drink wine and talk with people”

He rolled his eyes and shrugged.

“There’s also no food, unless you count appetizers as food”

Filip shook his head and Andy smiled.

“Good”

I laughed and looked at Andy.

“Mom makes a great dinner before” I told him.

Andy nodded.

“Hey do you know if Jake is coming?”

I shook my head.

“I heard he isn’t from Angie. She said something about him having research to do” I said.

“Dad’s gonna be pretty pissed”

I laughed and shook my head.

“No he’s not. Both him and Uncle Manny cry when you mention Jake” I said.

“Who’s Jake?”

“Mason’s little brother” I told him.

Filip nodded.

“Oh”

Andy frowned a bit.

“That’s the second New Years he isn’t here, and he did miss Thanksgiving”

I nodded and shrugged.

“He’s gonna be a big hot shot Neuroscientist Andy, he’s got no time for us common people” I said making Andy laugh.

I smiled and took a sip of my orange juice.

“When does he graduate?”

“May of next year” I said.

“Damn, time flies”

I nodded; just like that Jake was about to finish his doctorate.

“So do you have your gown?”

I nodded and took a sip of my juice.

“Yes I do, it’s purple” I said.

Andy nodded knowing which one I was talking about.

“Did they fix it already? Mom said the waist wasn’t going to fit you”

I nodded.

“In Nashville, don’t worry it’s gonna fit” I told him.

“Of course I worry, we’re taking our usual picture”

I laughed and Filip let out a yawn.

“You’ve lounged enough, what are you doing today?”

I shrugged.

“Probably going to LA, want to come?” I asked once I saw Amelia was back

Andy agreed, and we went to change.

“Why’d you dye it brown?”

I looked at Andy and shrugged.

“I wanted a change in it, but I might go blonde sooner than I thought” I said.

Andy nodded and we made our way to the car.

“Where’s Josh?”

Andy looked at Amelia and stuffed his hands into his pockets.

“He went out with a few friends”

“Why didn’t you go?” I asked.

“Not my friends”

I hummed lightly and we ended up picking Jackie up and going to Rodeo Drive. Amelia needed a pair of heels that she wanted; Filip got some clothes there, where as Andy got his shoes he needed. I ended up buying myself a bag I really liked, and Filip tried to buy it but I swatted his hand as I swiped my card. Jackie bought some gifts she needed and made sure Andy behaved. Andy ended up talking to Filip much more after this.
