Love Bug

Emma’s POV- May 2014
I looked at my brothers who were roughly almost the same height. Andy would probably grow a bit more, but I hope Josh was done growing. Josh stood at 6’4 and Andy was 6’0.

“You two are so tall” I said as I uploaded the picture I had taken with them.

I was squeezed in between them, all of us smiling. I had literally just got back from Nashville. My suitcases were in the car because my mom said we’d get to that later, and it’s not like I needed those clothes at the moment.

“You’re just small”

“Not as small as Liv and Lia though”

I nodded and Josh sat to my right.

“What’d you caption it?”

“Check yourself” I told him as I responded to a text from Filip.

“Fine, I will”

Andy sat to my right and leaned his head on my shoulder.

“Tired?” I asked him.

He nodded and yawned.

“Yea”

I turned to him and I caught the scent of Chlorine.

“Did you two shower?” I asked.

“Yea, you know how impossible it is to get the smell of Chlorine off”

I nodded and Josh stood up. A few years ago I always smelled like Chlorine. I used to swim competitevily, but I retired when I was 18.

“I’m gonna go see what mom has cooking”

I nodded and turned to Andy.

“You’re so tall” I said giving him a squeeze.

He groaned a bit and yawned again.

“How’s diving going?” I asked.

He nodded against my shoulder.

“It’s well”

I laughed and nodded.

“Your coach asked for you”

“And what did you say?” I asked.

He looked up.

“Told him you were going to visit soon”

I nodded at him, I was going to visit soon.

“I am” I said.

He hummed lightly.

“I will” I assured him.

You see I didn’t visit him at all last year, and I know coach was a little hurt over this.

“You have a lot of mail”

I nodded, slightly thankful for him changing the subject.

“I know, I forgot to change my mailing address” I said making him laugh.

“Nice one”

I nodded.

“I have a good amount of mail though, it’s going to be like Christmas” I said.

He hummed.

“Early birthday present”

I nodded and he looked at me suddenly.

“What are we doing for your birthday?”

I shrugged at him.

“I wish I knew” I told him.

He laughed and looked at me.

“You kept your weight”

I nodded and smiled.

“Emma”

I looked at Josh who was stretching as he made his way over.

“Mom wants you in the kitchen”

I nodded and Andy groaned as I let go of him.

“No!”

He clung on and I laughed.

“You can come to the kitchen then. Let’s all go to the kitchen” I said as I pulled Andy up.

Josh laughed and followed us to the kitchen.

“You called mom?” I asked.

She nodded and smiled.

“Yes, come talk to mom”

Andy pouted at my mom and she seemed unphased.

“You guys can have her back in a few. Go check if the dogs have food and water. Find your cats as well, and vaccum your rooms”

They grumbled but did as told. When they left my mom smiled.

“How was school?”

I nodded at her and she nodded.

“It was well then?”

“Yea, I mean I know I passed my classes” I told her making her hum as she cut up some veggies.

“That’s good”

I nodded and I glanced to the glass doors. My beagle, Winnie began wagging his tail when he saw I was inside. He also began whining lightly making my mom laugh.

“He spotted you”

I laughed and nodded.

“Are there any boys?”

I looked at her.

“Mom” I said.

She smiled and nodded.

“I knew there was a boy”

“Yes, but we are just talking. I can’t tell you more” I said.

“Why not?”

I looked at her.

“Because it’s weird, he’s really nice and he treats me well” I said.

She nodded.

“That’s all I ask for. Olivia and Amelia are so into work that they don’t have time for boys. I haven’t had a boy home since they were in college. Your father loves it, but I do miss my girl on girl time with them. They are successful, as you will be as well”

I nodded and went to the fridge to get some iced tea.

“So is he your age?”

I nodded and she smiled.

“Do you have a picture?”

“I do not” I said.

“Ask him to send you one”

My phone vibrated showing I had a snap from him.

“Is that him?”

I nodded and she leaned over as I pressed my finger on the screen. It was actually a picture of him. He was smiling and his hair was slightly wet.

“Are you home though?”

“What a handsome guy”

I smiled and decided to send him a text message. I turned my phone around and leaned on the counter.

“You can go see your dogs”

I smiled and grabbed my phone. I walked outside and my beagle began whining.

“I missed you to Winnie” I cooed as I picked him up.

He tried to lick my face, but I didn’t let him. I spotted my brothers’ cats sitting on the lawnchairs.

“Hi kitties” I called out.

They didn’t acknowledge me as I made my way to the back. Biscuit, my dog spotted me and he began running at me.

“NO!”

He sat down in front of me and whined lightly.

I laughed and looked at Josh as he shook his head at the dog. Biscuit was a big dog that loved tackling me onto the floor or anywhere honestly. Since I had surgery my family was more careful about his brut force. Oh yea, I had hip surgery on both of my hips when I was 18. I smiled as Bear the other dog made we way over and nudged my leg.

“Hi girl” I said putting Winnie down.

He found a butterfly and began chasing it as I pet my two big dogs. Bear and Biscuit were the housedogs. I had rescued Winnie last year as a puppy he was technically still one.

“I missed my pups” I said kneeling down to kiss their foreheads.

Andy looked at Josh and raised an eyebrow.

“Pool time?”

Josh shook his head earning a raised eyebrow from me. Those two were always in the pool.

“Mom said the pool cleaner hasn’t stopped by”

“When has that stopped you two?” I asked.

“He doesn’t like us very much, you on the other hand he loves”

“You two probably never speak to him then. Offer him a beer and be nice to him” I said.

“Are you going to swim?”

I looked at Andy who stuck out his lip a little.

“Not right now, I’m tired. We can swim tomorrow” I said.

He pouted and I shook my head.

“No” I said.

He whined lightly and Josh laughed.

“Aww looks like people are growing out of your pout little bro”

He huffed and I smiled at him.

“It works a bit” I said.

“Can we go get icecream?”

“That we can go get” I said.

He smiled and Josh frowned.

“It’s not a part of our diet”

I looked at him and made a face.

“You two have diets?” I asked.

Andy shook his head.

“I don’t, he does. I like food”

I laughed and smiled at Josh.

“Come on, you can get that one flavor you really like” I said.

He looked at me and nodded.

“Ok, but we’re walking there”

I laughed along with Andy.

“Did you hear that Andy, he wants us to walk there” I said as we walked inside.

Josh rolled his eyes but followed us.

“Mom, we’re going out for icecream!”

My mom laughed and looked and Josh.

“Joshua, no need to frown”

“We have a diet”

“You have a diet, you just make Andrew follow it. I personally don’t see why you need a diet. I cook healthy enough as it is. Emma can tell you from experience that the food I made never hurt her stomach”

“It didn’t” I said.

“I’m always hungry”

“Cause you’re growing. Joshua, stop making Andy starve” I said.

Josh smiled and rolled his eyes.

“Ok, we can go for ice cream”

I nodded and my mom smiled.

“Take my car”

“Can I drive?”

“No” I said in unison with Josh.

Andy frowned but followed Josh and I out.

“Bring me back some!”

I nodded at my mom and tossed Josh the keys.

“I’m too tired to drive” I told him.

“Your car is smooth to drive”

I nodded.

“When are you taking it to Nashville?”

I shrugged and we got into the car.

“I don’t know if I will” I said.

“Well you still got two years”

I nodded at him.

“That I do” I said.

“Are you seeing a boy?”

I looked at Andy and smiled.

“I can’t tell you that. You might cry” I said.

Andy was incredibly protective and I felt that was funny because he was my youngest brother. Josh didn’t care as long as I was happy.

“Yea, don’t tell me. So mom got us playoff tickets. We have an extra seat, so you can come babysit”

I nodded and smiled. They were under 18 so they need a person there watching them.

“That’d be fun, how are the Kings doing?” I asked.

“They’re playing the Blackhawks. The Series is 2-1”

“Who’s leading the series?” I asked.

“Kings, but for sure it’s going to game 7”

I nodded at them and smiled.

“Should be fun” I said.

They nodded and I picked my hair up.

“Just curious though, is there a guy?”

I looked at Josh and shrugged.

“Maybe” I said.

He raised an eyebrow.

“Yes or no?”

I grinned at him.

“Maybe” I said again making him shake his head.

“Just don’t go dating the enemy”

“Who’s the enemy?” I asked.

“Any person who roots for the team that’s not the Kings”

I laughed and nodded.

“I’ll try not to” I told them.

“That’s all we ask for”

Oh this was going to go bad. If my relationship with Filip blossomed he would certainly have to kiss ass to my brothers.
