The Case of T.P. Wallace

Chapter Three

“Is that Neuro of yours coming any time soon?” Thad asks me as I walk into his room. “Because I have stuff to do.”

After watching the nurse set his food tray near his bed, I pick up his chart and check if anyone consulted him. Neuro still hasn’t check him. Chief Xiang hasn’t even made his round here. I pull a chair next to the guy and shake my head.

“I think it’s best if you stayed for the night for some observations.”

He nods and hesitantly agrees with me. After a minute of silence, Thad leans forward from his back resting against the bed frame and closely looks at me. He tilts his face closer my ear rather than my face itself, which makes me slightly fretful. His cold hand lands on my shoulder and pulls me an inch closer to his bed frame.

Thad whispers, “I’m not like the rest.”
