A Dream's Reality

Day 1 – Earth Control

After breakfast Elion had asked me to meet him in the royal gardens so we could start with our training. I felt kind of nervous about learning how to use my powers that I supposedly have. I have no idea where it will come from or how I will channel it. But I trust Naida.

I made it into the garden and stood there in awe. It was so beautiful. Beds and beds of flowers that are still budding lined up the whole area with only the walkways to separate them. In the middle was a large fountain with a statue of a beautiful woman pouring out water with benches surrounding it. In the back was a gazebo area covered in lights that I knew would shine beautifully once it became night time. That’s when I felt a hand on my shoulder.

“Beautiful, huh?” It was Elion’s smooth voice. I looked at him but he was staring at the garden. “Nothing like back home though.” Elion spoke in a whisper, almost sounding sad. He quickly turned to me with a smile.

“I’d like to see your home soon then.” I smiled back and we just stood there for a few moments. It wasn't awkward, just comfortable.

“Well, darlin’ I’ll take you there all you want once you’re ready.” Elion grinned and I just nodded.

“Thank you Prince Elion. So, what are we going to do today?” I felt curious as to what Elion would be teaching me.

“Well, first we must take off our shoes and make sure we are standing in the dirt. The best way to become one with earth is to be touching it without any kind of blocking.” I was surprised at his words, not expecting a prince to want to walk around barefoot in the dirt. Guess I shouldn’t assume. I did as I was told and took off my shoes, leaving my bare toes to dig into the ground. The dirt was cool to the touch despite the warm weather.

“We aren’t going to start with actual manipulation or control, first you must form a connection with the earth.” Elion spoke seriously which took me by surprise. He usually sounds seductive or goofy. So he can be serious when he needs to be… “Celeste, place your hand flat on the ground.” Elion grasps my hand and places it on the ground for me. My face heated up at his touch but he just gave me a charming smile.

“A-alright. What do I do now?”

“Now just close your eyes and concentrate on your hand, Celeste. I need you to think of it as you putting your energy into the dirt.” Elion gently places his hand on the dirt as well. “When you can connect with the earth, it’ll look something like this.” All of a sudden the earth beneath his tanned hand starts shifting and breaking. My eyes widened in surprise and awe. Woah. “Impressed that easily? I can do much more darlin’.” Elion chuckled at my reaction.

“Ah, it’s just. I’ve never seen anyone do this before.” I felt bashful for being so impressed, but it really was so exciting.

“Ah I’m just teasing Celeste. I know this is all new to you.” Elion said softly with a knowing smile. “Now you try.”

I tried to follow Elion’s lead, but it proved kind of difficult. I tried to not get too frustrated since it is my very first time trying to do anything of this sort. I have to keep trying! Elion saw my look of new found determination and grinned. I tried again and this time I felt movement under my palm. My face broke out into a smile and I jumped up in excitement.

“Prince Elion! Did you see that?! I did it!!” I couldn’t contain my excitement as I jumped up and down.

“Wow, I wish that was your reaction when you saw me darlin’.” Elion laughed and I blushed in embarrassment. “You did good, Celeste.” He patted my hair gently and looked at me with a kindness in his icy blue eyes. I felt my blush increase at his compliment and gaze. “We can stop for today; it’s almost lunch time anyway.” I nodded at Elion before turning around.

As we met the entrance of the gardens Elion stopped in front of me and handed me a bloomed pink rose. It was so pretty. But how? All the flowers were buds! “For you, a pink rose symbolizing admiration darlin’.” Elion said confidently, while gently placing the rose behind my ear. A blush crept up my cheeks. Before I could thank him, Elion gestures behind me to the gardens. All the flowers were in full bloom.

“What? How? It’s so beautiful.” I gazed in awe at the bloomed flowers. Without thinking I hugged Elion. “Thank you! For the flower and for the beautiful sight!” I spoke excitedly and for once Elion seemed awkward. But that quickly went away as Elion smirked confidently.

“Well, that was nothing my queen. Anything to make you happy.” I realized what I did and stepped back, embarrassed.

“T-thanks Prince Elion.” Elion just chuckled as we headed back towards the dining hall to eat lunch with everyone else.

That was my first day, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope the next first sessions with the others will go over well too. Even though I only accomplished a very small feat, it made me feel so much better about this whole power ordeal. I still have a long way to go…

Elion’s POV:

I was excited to be training with Celeste today. I already knew what I wanted her to start with and hope that it goes well. It’s a bland exercise but is crucial in earth control. I know that she will do well. I told her to meet me in the Palace Gardens, so there I waited anxiously.

She didn’t even notice me as she walked into the gardens, looking around in awe. I smiled at her reaction. So simple. I walked up behind her and rested my hand on her shoulder to get her attention. I felt a tinge of nostalgia as I brought up my home but that completely went away when Celeste said she wants to see it. I felt happy at her words.

It was time to start her lesson and I immediately went into serious mode. Even a guy like me can get serious sometimes. Contrary to my demeanor, I care deeply for the earth and nature alike. Even though it wasn’t necessary at all, I placed her hand on the dirt as an excuse to touch her. Her skin was so soft. She blushed at the touch and I couldn’t help but grin cockily. Score.

Then I showed her what to do and she was so impressed. At first I was shocked, it’s something so easy and simple and I’ve never had someone react like that. But then I decided to tease her a bit. I watched as she tried and tried again before she suddenly had a look of intense determination. I tried hard not to laugh at her expression and just grinned. Cute. So pure. It’s true, this girl here is so simple-minded. I didn’t mind it.

Once she was able to get the tiniest bit of movement in the dirt she jumped up in a rush. Woah. Clearly she couldn’t believe she was able to do it. She jumped up and down and I couldn’t help but laugh at Celeste. Really, so simple. At first I teased her, making her blush. But then I had to compliment her on being able to get some movement on her first day. Really amazing. I patted her head, which made her blush even more. Score again. I grinned. It was easy to make Celeste blush

On our way out of the gardens I decided I wanted to give her a flower. I thought hard about which one, wanting it to have a nice meaning. When I saw a bed of pink roses I knew that would be perfect. Admiration. She looked shocked when I handed her the flower, since all the flowers had been buds. She blushed again. It was a good thing that I made all the flowers bloom and showed her, because her reaction was priceless.

Her face looked serene as she gazed at the flowers and I couldn’t help but stare. That’s when she surprised me with a hug. I was in complete shock. Most hugs I get from girls (aside from mother) are seductive or flirty. But Celeste’s hug was just pure joy and excitement. I don’t even think she realized it. I felt embarrassed for a moment and blushed. Oh man, so uncool. I hope Celeste doesn’t notice. I quickly gave my usual confident smirk and she jumped away in surprise, her face completely red.

I just chuckled at her embarrassment and began walking back to the dining hall. Although, I didn’t really want our time to be over. Celeste intrigued me, and I wanted to know more about her. I can tell the time spent here will prove very interesting with her, Naida, and the rest of the princes. I smiled to myself. Her smile is contagious.
