The Dial Tone

Elizabeth opened her eyes. 'Where am I?', she thought as she took in my unfamiliar surroundings. She was lying in a bed with silky smooth sheets. She sat up trying to peer through the darkness as a pain shot through the back of her head. Then she remembered she had been hit over the head when she opened the door. She then heard footsteps coming close towards the room she was in. Without thinking she lied down and pretended to be sleeping.
