Lucy’s POV- Christmas 2014
I took a bite of my tamale and followed Uncle Nick into the living room. He turned around and he laughed.
“I feel like you came for the food”
I smiled.
“It was an incentive” I told him.
He laughed and glanced up.
“Good morning sunshines” I said earning a groan from the twins who were walking down the stairs.
Nate mad a face at me as he rubbed his eyes.
“How are you so awake?”
Uncle Nick turned to me and chuckled.
“Luce has probably had about 5 cups of coffee”
I rolled my eyes.
“I’ve had 2 thank you very much” I told him.
Nate made his way over and I frowned as he tried to steal my tamale.
“Get your own” I said making him frown.
“You’re so stingy with your food”
Uncle Nick smiled.
“Share with your food Lucy, you shared with your boyfriend”
“You’re never going to let that go arent you?” I asked.
He smiled and shook his head.
“Never”
“He’s not my boyfriend” I told Uncle Nick.
He just smiled and nodded.
“Yet”
Nate frowned.
“You shared food with a guy, but not your own cousin?”
I rolled my eyes as he hugged me.
“So, what does he do?”
He pulled away and took my food. As he bit it he hummed and raised an eyebrow.
“I’ll tell you later, I promise” I told him.
He nodded and I followed him into the kitchen.
“Morning mom”
Aunt Mel turned and smiled at Nate who was almost done with my tamale.
“What are we having for breakfast?”
The doorbell rung and I made my way over to the door. I opened the door and smiled at Mike.
“They’re coming”
I nodded and let him step inside. He looked extremely pissed. I smiled at Jared, and his daughter who were making their way over.
“Good morning, Merry Christmas” I told them.
Jared smiled at me and hugged me. Jenny offered me a smile as I let go of her dad to hug her.
“Merry Christmas, how mad was Mike?”
“Extremly, could your wife not make it again?” I asked him as I squeezed Jenny.
He nodded and I let out a puff of air.
“I see, come on inside” I said.
They walked inside and I closed the door. I made my way into the dining room where Mike was setting up. He glanced up and hummed.
“I really need to stop expecting her to change”
I nodded.
“Where’s Bobbi?” I asked.
He chuckled.
“I’ve got no clue, she didn’t sleep at the house”
I nodded and squeezed his arm.
“Sit in between Nate and I” I told him.
He nodded and smiled.
“Merry Christmas”
He pulled me into a hug and kissed my cheek.
“Merry Christmas Mike” I said patting his butt.
I pulled away and he nodded.
“I’m going to go clean up”
I nodded and continued setting up the table. I heard Uncle Nick call my name and I made my way into the office. I smiled at Jared who was sitting down across from Uncle Nick.
“Mel told me last night you have a plus one for the New Years Eve Party?”
I nodded and he raised an eyebrow.
“It’s Mattias” I told him.
He hummed a bit surprised.
“I thought he wasn’t your boyfriend?”
I smiled.
“No, but it looked like he was going to ask the other night. Filip interupted us though” I said.
He nodded and looked at Jared.
“It looks like Lucy may have a boyfriend”
Jared smiled and looked at me.
“Finally”
I rolled my eyes.
“Does he work with you?”
Uncle Nick laughed.
“I would never let a loser there date my niece”
I smiled and shook my head.
“No, but you will meet him next week” I told Jared who nodded.
“Did you talk with Michael?”
I nodded.
“He’ll get over it, he kind of always has to” I said.
He nodded slowly and Uncle Nick raised an eyebrow.
“She went to work”
Uncle Nick just shook his head.
“Mel is head of Ortho but you don’t see her at the hospital right now”
Jared just shrugged.
“I’d rather her not be here though. Her and Michael have been arguing the whole time”
I let out a deep breath.
“I’m going to leave because I don’t want to hear this. I’ll get pissed off and say something and you two will get mad at me” I said.
Uncle Nick chuckled.
“I’ll give you guys a shout when the food is ready” I said.
They nodded and I left. I bumped into Lando, the family Husky and I grinned.
“Hi boy” I said.
He wagged his tail and I scratched his head. He followed me into the living room where Aunt Mel was.
“Did you set up the plates?”
I nodded.
“Alright, let us take the food out then”
I followed her and smiled at Maia who was rubbing her face.
“Morning” I said.
“How are you not hungover?”
I smiled at her.
“I told you to eat and drink water” I said following her into the kitchen.
She shook her head and I grabbed the diningware. Usually Christmas involved Alex’s family, but they had gone to San Jose to visit her instead of her coming down. Mike was always at their house or at this house because the relationship he had with his mom was not the best. Bobbi just didn’t care so she stayed out of it, but Mike actually confronted his mom.
“Can we open our gifts?”
Aunt Mel smiled and shook her head.
“No, until we finish our food”
I smiled and turned to Aunt Mel.
“Did you find the videos?” I asked her.
She smiled and nodded.
“Yes, I left them on your desk”
I nodded and she went to call Uncle Nick and Jared.
“Mom was telling me that you’re bringing a plus one?”
I looked at Maia and smiled.
“Yes” I said.
Mike chuckled and I looked at him. He was looking down at his phone.
“What does he do for a living?”
I looked at Maia.
“I’ll tell you about it later” I told her.
She nodded and smiled.
“Guess what?”
“What?” I asked.
“I met Tyler Toffoli”
I smiled.
“Really?” I asked.
She nodded.
“Yes, and he was so nice. It was after one of their practices”
I nodded.
“Who took you?” I asked as I began putting food on my plate.
“Daisy’s parents, they really want Quick to sign their jersey so they can frame it. Jenny came with us too”
I nodded and smiled at Jenny, Mike’s stepsister.
“It took them forever to get the 2012 jersey signed” I said.
Maia nodded
“Yea, but they’re on this though. Mom is letting me go to a game after New Years and she actually asked me if you could take Nate and I to the tip a king thing”
“That’s cool, who are they playing?” I asked knowing whom the Kings were playing.
I looked up and smiled at Mike who shook his head.
“The Nashville Predators actually, I hope I can get a picture with atleast one of them. But can you go with us? Mike said he’s going but Nate and I are not 18 so we need someone else.”
I nodded slowly and smiled.
“I’ll get back to you on that, but most likely ill go with you” I told her.
She smiled.
“When do you go back to Nashville again?”
“A week after New Years. My boss gave me a whole week off, so I might as well take advantage of it” I said making her nod.
“Cool, it’s nice having one of you around. The house is really quiet without you and Angie”
I let out a laugh and nodded.
“Do you miss LA?”
“Of course I miss it, I was raised here. I’m going to take advantage of the sun though” I said getting a laugh from everyone.
I admit I missed LA, but Nashville was being nothing but good to me.
I took a bite of my tamale and followed Uncle Nick into the living room. He turned around and he laughed.

It is week 2 (my school is on the quarter system) and i already have exams this week. one tomorrow (I have an exam every week for this class). It's my last quarter so i might as well enjoy it.
