Scribbles of a Broken Heart

Confession

“As time went by, Garrett and I became a lost closer. He became my best guy friend, but I liked him more than that. I wanted to be more than that.”

“And did you become more than that?”

“Not anytime soon, no. He dated a lot of girls.”

“Dated? As in casually?”

“Yes, but he did have a couple of girlfriends as well.”

“So you guys didn’t begin to be…” I assumed the pause was to find the right words, “intimately involved until recently.”

“What are you talking about?” I was slightly confused, “This is all in the first month of school.”

She gave me a quizzical look.

“He dated a lot and had two girlfriends before September ended.”

“My my, don’t you teens move on quickly.”

“It’s better than dwelling on false hope.”

She didn’t say anything, just kept writing in that damned notebook of hers.

“I broke up with Christine today,” said Garrett as he took the spot next to me on the bus.

“What happened?” I paused my iPod Video to hear the story.

“She was cheating on me,” he stated sadly.

“With who?”

“Some junior, I don’t remember his name.”

“I told you not to go out with that slut,” I reclaimed while shaking my head.

“Yeah, but she’s so hot!”

“Most definitely!” I agreed sarcastically.

“I guess that means a new subject…Oh! I heard that Hoyt Digger likes you.”

“From who?” It was rare to hear news of someone actually liking me.

“Tommy.”

“Big Tommy or Short Tommy.”

“The short one.”

“Oh.”

“So it’s probably true then, Short Tommy doesn’t lie.”

“Yeah,” I agreed, “probably.”

Honestly I didn’t really care. Hoyt Digger was a strange kid. I talk to him and we exchange ‘hello’s’ in the hallways, but he was the kind of person who thinks that anyone who bothers to acknowledge him was his friend; none actually felt the same way.

“Are you gonna say anything to him.”

“Nope.”

“Why not?”

“Because I don’t like him in that way.”

“Then who do you like ‘in that way’?” he imitated.

“No one,” I lied.

“Liar,” he accused.

“Am not,” I replied childishly.

“Whatever you say Constance, I’ll find out sooner or later.”
I mentally prayed that he would never find out, because what would he say if he knew it was him?

I let out a deep sigh as a dropped my backpack in the center of Garrett’s room.

“Is it Jack”

“No.”

“Is it Jason?”

“No.”

“Is it Mitchell?”

“No.”

“Is it Aaron?”

“Yes.”

“Really?!”

“No.”

“Is it-“

“Garrett! Shut up. You’ll never figure it out.”

“Ugh, why won’t you tell me?”

“Because it’s fun annoying you.”

“You know,” he started, “I could probably hook you guys up.”

“No, he wouldn’t want to go out with me,” I said sadly while setting myself down on his bed.

“Who wouldn’t want to go out with you?”

“A lot of guys.”

He scooted closer to me and enveloped me in a hug, he was so warm.

“Only a stupid person would not like you.”

“I guess you’re an idiot then.”

My eyes widened as I realized what I had just done Even though I didn’t directly say it, I
made an obvious implication.

His arms pulled away from me and I felt a little bit colder. His blue eyes looked straight into my green ones.

“Constance,” he groaned as stood up rigidly, “why did you have to say that?”

“You said you wanted to know who I liked.”

“I didn’t think it was me though!”

“Garrett,” regret immediately washed over me, “do you like me or not?”

“I…” he looked away, “I don’t know.”

“Oh,” my heart sunk, “okay.”

“I’m sor-“

“Don’t,” I commanded, “I’m just gonna go home.”

I grabbed my back pack and rushed out of there. However, the worst part of the day wasn’t that he half-rejected me, it was that he let me go; he didn’t try to stop me from leaving.

One of the chapters in this story isn't following the guidelines so it isn't begin shown on the story over view. I think I already fixed the problem with the story but (I'm new so) can someone tell me how to get mibba to know that and check it again so it'll be shown on the overview of the stories?
