Forest Fairy

Werewolf on Steroids

"Hey mom," Haley greeted, as she walked into the kitchen.

"Hey sweetie," Katie grinned, giving her daughter a hug.

"Whoa ma," she laughed, hugging her back, wondering why her mom was so happy. "What's up? Got a hot date?"

"Nope, just happy to see my daughter. I can't be happy to see you?"

"Sure, but this a bit excessive if you ask me," she let out a giggle. She looked around the kitchen to find her favorite dinner on the stove. Meatball orzo stew. Along with the sweet smell of blueberry pie, that Dean Winchester would drool over.

"I have some awesome news," Katie stirred the stew and bit on her bottom lip.

Haley noticed the nervous biting, making her anxious, "What is it?"

"I'm sticking with the night shifts at work and," she paused, not knowing how to say the next part. "And you will be spending this summer with your dad."

"Excuse me." Haley could have sworn she heard her mother wrong. Actually she knew she heard her wrong. "Yeah right, mom."

"I'm serious, monkey."

Glaring at her mother, she gave no other comment as she turned around and walked out the front door. She could not believe her mom was sending her off to her father's for the summer. Sure, it was just a hour away, but Haley never wanted to see her father since he cheated on her mother. That and she hated her stepmother. She never turned around and she ignored her mother's call of her name. She ran. Ran all the way to the animal clinic, where she was to meet Derek and Isaac to talk to McCall. He told Derek the other night that they will go with his plan on saving Jackson and said his boss had a plan to help. How a vet had a plan to help us in the supernatural world was beyond Haley's thoughts.

"Hey," Isaac greeted his girlfriend with a kiss.

"Let's stay focus," Derek's gruff voice broke their kiss and he knocked on the locked clinic door.

They watched as Scott came into view and opened the door with a slight sneer, "What are they doing here?"

"I need them," Derek gave in a simple reply, as the trio made their way into the clinic.

"I don't trust them," Scott glared at the couple.

"Yeah, well, he doesn't trust you either," Isaac answered him in third person, pulling his girlfriend closer to him.

"Neither does she," Haley decided to use third person too, while she glared at the teen wolf.

"You know what?" Derek growled, annoyed. "And Derek really doesn't care. Now where's the vet? Is he gonna help us or not?"

"That depends," a voice sounded before them, turning the fours attention to the vet. "Your friend, Jackson. Are we planning to kill him or save him?"

Scott responded with, "Save him." At the same time Derek spoke, "Kill him."

"To be fair," Haley's voice caught everyone's attention. "He's not really our friend."

Scott glared at the alpha, repeating, "Save him." Derek rolled his eyes, but nodded. The teen wolf turned towards his boss, saying once again, "Save him."

Isaac smirked down at his girlfriend and they followed the vet into the other room. An examination room that had a metal table in the middle of it. Haley stood in between Isaac and Scott, while Derek stood on the other side of his beta. Deaton brought out a rack of glass bottles with different symbols on the lids, making not only Isaac curious, but Haley as well. Isaac reached out with the hand that was once around her shoulders, but she was quick to catch the beta's wrist with her fingers. He glanced up at her brown orbs, who shook her head.

"Watch what you touch," Derek sighed, giving Haley a nod, thanking her.

"So," Isaac began, leaning over the table with his elbows pressed on it and his chin in his hand. "What are you? Some kind of witch?"

"No," Deaton smiled at the young beta. "I'm a veterinarian. Unfortunately, I don't see anything here that's going to be an effective defense against a paralytic toxin."

"We're open to suggestions," Derek sighed, hoping he could help because he was tired of seeing people dying.

"What about an effective offense?" Isaac offered, looking up at the vet.

Haley snorted, drawing the attention towards her, "Saw an effective offense, didn't work."

Derek nodded to her statement, "We already tried. I nearly took its head off and Argent emptied an entire clip into it. The thing just gets back up."

Dragon raised an eyebrow in thought, "Has is shown any weakness?"

"Only one," Haley looked at Derek, silently asking if she could continue.

"It can't swim," he finished for her.

"Does that go for Jackson as well?" Deaton asked.

"No," Scott shook his head. "He's the captain of the swim team."

"Essentially, you are trying to catch two people," Deaton turned around to look for something, before he picked up the coin and turned back around. "A puppet and a puppeteer. One killed the husband, but the other had to take care of the wife. Do we know why?"

The four thought about it, but Scott was the one to answer first. "I don't think Jackson could do it. His mother died pregnant too and she was maybe murdered. I think he couldn't let the same thing happen to someone else."

"How do you know it's not part of the rules?" Isaac inquired. "The kanima kills murderers. If Jackson kills the wife, then the baby dies too."

Scott glanced at the tall werewolf, "Does that mean your father was a murderer?"

Isaac sighed, "Wouldn't surprise me if he was." Haley replied at the same time as him with, "He pretty much was."

Haley noticed Isaac looking at her, but she bit her lip. Why she said that was beyond her, but it was true. Mr. Lahey was basically a murderer in her eyes because of what he would do to Isaac. So many times could he could have killed the curly haired boy next to her and the mere thought of it scared her. He noticed her lip biting and took a hold of her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze.

"Hold on," Deaton's voice drew their attention to him. "The book says they're bonded, right? What if the fear of water isn't coming from Jackson, but from the person controlling him? What if something that affects the kanima also affects its master?"

"Meaning what?" Isaac questioned, as everyone watched Deaton lift up a bottle.

"Meaning we can catch them," Scott eyes light up when he saw the bottle. "Both of them."

They had a plan now, but they needed a place on where to do it. Something all of them decided to step away and see where Jackson was doing the following weekend. Deaton watched as the alpha left first, with his beta following close behind him. The young girl caught his eye as soon as he saw her. This was the girl Scott had been telling him about since they had their talk about him knowing the supernatural.

"Haley," his voice caused the girl to stop and turn back towards him. "You don't know what you are, do you?"

Her heartbeat rose, catching Isaac's attention, but she waved him on much to his dismay. He wanted to be there for her. To keep her safe, but she wanted him to continue on without her. She turned her gaze back towards the vet. She gave him a question instead of an answer, "Do you know what I am?"

"I believe you might be haltija."

That night she found out what she was and she didn't wait for Deaton to give her any information about it. She went straight home to find her mother's car gone, much to her pleasure and started her research on what the hell a haltija was. She found out the haltija were mythological creatures that came from Finland.

"So," Isaac eyes scanned the screen over her shoulder. "You're like an elf? No wonder why you're so short."

Haley turned towards her smirking and chuckling boyfriend with a glare, before a warning gust of wind hit him. "Shut up."

"It also says there that they are creatures that guards, helps, or protects something or someone," Isaac continued to read.

So Derek had been right. She was there to protect Isaac. But why just Isaac? Why not the whole pack? Then her thoughts drifted to yesterday afternoon when she felt the pain. The pain that was sent to her from Erica. Maybe it wasn't just Isaac she was drawn to. Maybe she was drawn to the Hale pack because her powers started showing up when Derek made the decision to give Isaac the bite. Then more thoughts hit her. Memories from the start of last semester. She would sometimes find herself in places where McCall and Stilinski were. Like the school the night that the attacks happened. She never knew why she found her way there that night, but she had gotten to the outskirts of the woods when the police were outside with the teens.

"I think I'm here to protect the supernatural of Beacon Hills," Haley sighed, turning towards her boyfriend, who gave her a worried look.

Stiles typed away on his laptop, gaining more and more information from different websites, while paper after paper fell to the floor from his printer. He felt as if he needed to do this for her. Figure out what she was and what she could do. Even so much as texting Allison to look at the bestiary for information of the one name he kept coming across during his research. Hell, he wanted to know what she was because it was eating him alive. They already had one unknown supernatural creature roaming around on a killing spree. Though they kind of understood the kanima now, they still had another unknown creature running around. He wanted to make sure she wasn't going to start going on her own killing spree anytime soon.

"Here," Stiles slide the two, three inch binders across the table as Haley stopped mid-bite of her salad.

Her eyes found his and she set down her fork, "What are these, Stilinski?"

"Everything I could find on what you are," he sighed, taking a seat across from her.

She blinked at the large binders and pulled one towards her. Sure, she did her own research last night, but she did not find as much information as he seemed to. She knew he took several Adderall before doing this. Flipping to the front page of the binder, she read the same thing she read last night, but as she continued to read, she discovered more and more about her different powers. She glanced up at the buzz cut boy in front of her.

"Where's your pack?" He asked, taking noticed of her sitting by herself.

"Not here. Getting ready for tonight. Deaton called me a haltija last night," Haley continued to flip through the binder. "So I went home and did my own research, but didn't find as much as you, Stiles. Thank you. You're a research genius."

Stiles cheeks blushed a light pink, "T-thanks. But this explains so much about the wind. I think you might be a forest haltija."

"Yes, that would explain the wind," she nodded her head reading about that certain power.

"I also found out other powers you might posses," Stiles took the other binder and opened it up to a certain page. Finding it, he pointed out the different powers. "So the wind, I found out that it is almost as if you are flying, but it's more of a defense thing, where a gust of wind can knock out your opponent. Then you, you can heal people by a simple touch, also found out that some haltija can heal by giving people food."

"Food?" Haley giggled, raising an eyebrow.

"Not sure," he chuckled, shrugging his shoulders. "I found this one interesting, that you might be able to make yourself invisible to humans, but it's more like them not understanding what they have seen. Your senses are out of this world enhanced. I'm talking about being able to see at night with ease, hearing better than dogs, strong taste, interpret emotions by a simple touch, and you can smell better than a bloodhound."

"So basically a werewolf on steroids?" Haley grinned.

"Exactly!" Stiles laughed, pointing at the girl before him. "You also have super agility, to the point you can dodge any attack and never get hit. Quick question, can you talk to animals?"

"Uh," she quirked an eyebrow, unsure. There was that time with Isaac and the coyote in the woods, but she doesn't feel comfortable telling that event to Stiles quite yet.

"Doesn't matter," he waved her apprehensiveness off and continued. "But there is a chance you could communicate to animals and understand their emotions. You could also summon an animal to your protection if needed. Oh!" Stiles eyes light up reading the next power. "You can heal like werewolves and it might be better than that because you can regenerate if your limbs get cut off."

Haley blinked at the spastic boy as he grinned at her, taking in all the information he gave her very quickly. "So if you were to cut off my finger right now, it'll grow back?"

"Uh, hopefully," he gulped, hoping she wasn't asking to test it out right now.

"I'm a fucking 'roid werewolf half time lord like creature," she sighed, running her hand through her hair.

"What?" Stiles questioned, not understanding what a time lord was and what it had to do with her being an elf.

"Nothing," she shook her head, before standing up. "Thank you again, Stiles. I appreciate this."

"No problem," he smiled at the elf, sighing with relief at finally knowing what she was and knew she wouldn't be going a killing spree. At least not anytime soon.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Music pumped through the whole building. Lights of different colors flashed around the room, as black lights lined the roof creating a luminance feel. Haley glanced around the room, trying to find the one person they were here for. Isaac leaned against the pillar next to his girlfriend, looking around for Jackson. Erica found herself in the middle of the dance floor, dancing with a random boy while keeping an eye out for the blonde jock. They have been there for a while and was waiting for Scott's plan to take action, especially since Isaac has found the teen in question and kept a good eye on him. What they did not expect was Scott to come out of nowhere, eyeing Isaac.
"Why me?" Isaac asked, after McCall finished telling him he would have to give the shot to Jackson. He handed over the injection gun.
"Because I got to make sure that Argent doesn't completely ruin the plain," he sighed, noticing the nervous looks from the couple. "Okay, look, you better do it intravenously which means in the vein. When you find him, you pull back on this plunger right here. In the neck probably is going to be the easiest. So you find a vein, you jam it in there and pull back on the trigger. Be careful."
Isaac rolled his eyes, "Oh, I doubt it'll even slightly hurt him."
"No," Scott shook his head, eyeing the couple. "I mean you two. I don't want you guys to get hurt."
Glancing at each other, the couple nodded their heads in understanding. Scott ran off, leaving to two find Jackson out on the dance floor. Taking his hand, Haley made her way towards the blonde boy in the middle. She tapped his shoulder and grinned at him when he turned around. Isaac's heartbeat rose as he watched his girlfriend placed a hand lazily on Jackson's shoulder. He knew he had to keep himself in control, but he smirked at the blonde as Haley turned back around to him and did the same to him. Haley found the beat of the music and took turns grinning between her boyfriend and the jock.
She felt Jackson's hands on her hips as she faced Isaac, who held a smirk on his face. She placed on hand on Isaac's shoulder, while her other hand went behind her and wrapped around Jackson's neck. Haley then changed positions. One arm wrapped around Isaac's neck behind her and her other around Jackson's before her. She held Jackson's gaze as she felt Isaac take the injection gun out of his pocket as Jackson placed his head in the crook of Haley's neck. Before he could inject Jackson, something changed.
"He belongs to me," Jackson's voice sounded off as he said this against the brunette's neck.
Jackson pulled Haley away from Isaac and dug his claws into the tall werewolf's side, making him lose his balance and he soon found himself on the floor. Haley didn't get very far because Jackson let her go after passing a few people. Looking behind her, she took in Isaac's form on the ground struggling to get the injection gun. She sighed, walked up to the where the gun laid and walked briskly towards the retreating form of the arrogant jock. With her speed, she got behind him quickly and shoved the needle into the boy's neck. Isaac was beside her in no time and caught Jackson before he could fall to the floor.
"Good one," he chuckled, grinning at his girlfriend.
"Come on," she smiled with a wink, before grabbing the blonde female werewolf.
The trio made their way into an empty room off to the side of the dance floor. Isaac dropped the unconscious Jackson on a random chair in the room. Erica sighed with relief seeing him out cold. Haley grinned at what she was able to do. Isaac, well Isaac stood there watching the boy in front of him. He had a feeling that it was too easy. Way too easy and that something was bound to go wrong anytime soon. All three turned towards the door preparing to fight whoever was about to walk through it.
"Uh, no, no, no!" Stiles' voice made the trio relax some as they watched him come through the door. "Just me, it's just me. Don't freak." He turned toward the boy in the chair after he knew that he wouldn't be attacked. "He okay?"
"Well," Isaac started, while walking over towards the chair. "Let's find out." His claws came out and he went to slash at the boy, only for his attack to be stopped. Haley could hear his hand being crushed over the music clearly and watched him fall back with his hand in his other. "Oh god!"
Stiles eyes were wide along with the girl's beside him, "Okay. No one does anything like that again, Okay?"
"Oh," Isaac groaned in pain as Haley came over and placed her hand on his. "I thought the ketamine was supposed to put him out." He flexed his hand once it was healed by his girlfriend's touch.
"Yeah, well," Stiles ran his hand over his head, watching Jackson carefully. "Apparently this is all we're going to get. So let's just hope whoever's controlling him just decided to show up tonight."
"I'm here," Jackson's voice sounded off as he drew all four's attention.
"Fuck," Haley stared as Jackson's eyes opened.
"I'm right here with you," Jackson's eyes glanced towards them.
"Jackson, is that you?" Stiles inquired.
"Us. We're all here."
"Who the fuck is us?" Haley glared at the jock in front of her, not liking what she saw.
She received no answer, which made her sigh and glance at Stiles. Stiles nodded his head and continued to question him, "Are you the one killing people?"
"We are the ones killing murderers."
"So all the people you've killed so far-," Stiles got cut off before he could say it.
"Deserved it," Jackson's demonic voice growled.
"See, we got a little rule book that says you only go after murderers."
"Anything can break if enough pressure's applied."
Stiles glanced at the other three before continuing, "Alright. So people you're killing are all murderers then?"
"All. Each. Every one." This made Haley quirk her eyebrow, not understanding at all.
"Well, who did they murder?" Stiles shared looks again, confused as the other three.
"Me."
All of their eyes sudden at that answer, "Wait, what? What do you mean?"
"They murdered me," Jackson's glared moved as did his head. "They murdered me." He then stood up.
"Oh shit," Haley muttered, backing away and grabbing onto Isaac's hand.
Stiles also backed up, eyes wide. "Okay, Alright. More ketamine. The man needs ketamine. Come on."
Isaac picked up the bottle, not taking his eyes off Jackson, and not removing his hand from Haley's. "We don't have any more."
Stiles glanced at the empty bottle in disbelief, "You used the whole bottle?" The movement in front of him made his attention move back, only to find Jackson moving towards them slowly. "Um, okay, out, everybody out."
Jackson started to get scalely, making Isaac's eyes widen and he began to push everyone towards the door, "Go, go, go, go!"
They all leaned against the door and looked around as Stiles made a point to say, "Okay, find something to move in front of the door."
Right after the words left his mouth, the kanima came crashing through the wall. All four of them gasped and watched it run away into the crowd.
"Well, so much for finding something to block the door," Haley murmured, making the other three glare at her.
They took off after the kanima to see if they could find it. They separated in hopes of finding him quicker, but they never did and came back together at the entrance of the club. Stiles was the one to burst open the door and run out. Haley felt it as soon as she exited the club. The unknown force. A force she has only felt once. Inside the animal clinic. Isaac felt it too and he crouched down and looked at the black dust lined in front of the door.
"Hey, um, so we kind of lost Jackson, but it's," Stiles franticly started to say to Derek, but he turned around to find Isaac crouched. "Oh my god. It's working. Oh this is. I did something!"
The lower bass sound outside made it easier for Haley to hear her surroundings better and what she heard terrified her. A heartbeat so slow, whoever it belonged to she knew they were near death. She knew who the heartbeat belonged to. Scott McCall. She also picked up on the conversation happening between the older female she didn't know and the teen wolf. Her eyes shot up to her alpha.
"Derek," her worried laced voice caught the alpha's attention.
Before she could tell him what she heard, they both heard the howl of Scott. "Scott," Derek looked towards the building.
Stiles heard the alpha say his best friend name, which made him confused, "What?"
Derek looked at the teen human before him, "Break it."
"What?" Stiles looked at him confused and shook his head. "No way."
"Scott's dying!" Derek's heart rate rose slightly.
"Okay, what?" He became alarmed. "How do you know that?"
"Oh my god, Stiles, I just know! Break it!"
Haley watched Stiles bend down, not wanting to break it, "Stiles! Break it, dammit!"
Sighing, he broke the line, breaking the invisible force stopping any supernatural being from coming or going. Haley grabbed Isaac's hand and dragged him away from the club. She wanted to get away from listening to his heartbeat. She didn't want to hear the young werewolf take his last breath. Erica was closely behind her two friends, wanting to find Boyd after not noticing him outside with her alpha. Haley heard it all and she finally was able to breath once she heard her alpha save the teen wolf and heard his heartbeat increase slightly. At least once person that night was able to be saved.
