A Painful Life

Kimura's POV

We left Sakura with Team Asuma. They don't look that tough but I think they'll survive… if something's gonna happen. Hmm, Yumi… That must have been one hell of a kick. It's weird, how I didn't get affected at all by that bite. And what's weirder is… it looks different than Yumi's. I do remember when I first saw it and Yumi told me about it. Yeah, she kept it secret even from Sara… Wonder what does it do… Does it cause trouble, does it kill people? What use is it? Probably not a tattoo or something! Our whole hunt was silent… it was just me thinking. She didn't open a single conversation.

"Yumi…" I blurted.

"Yeah, Kimura?" She said.

"I just want you to know that we're strong… No matter what happens! And it isn't your fault that Orochimaru caused this trouble", I continued.

"It just burns me to remember what happened… Am I that weak? Am I that vulnerable?" She looked down.

"No, of course you're not! Sometimes things happen and they're out of hand. It doesn't mean you're weak", I said.

"Wow, you really know how to make me feel better, Kimura!" She said.

As we were walking, we ran into Anko. She was sitting down on her knees.

"Anko!" Yumi rushed towards her.

"Did you see him?" Anko said.

"Yeah… we did", I said.

"I have to go tell the hokage. The Chunin Exams must stop!" She said.

"What!" Yumi and I said in unison.

"You girls go proceed until I report to the hokage", she said.

We nodded and continued our hunt. Suddenly, Yumi pulled me into the bushes.

"Ouch, what was that for?"

"Shh. Someone's out there", she whispered.

I looked and saw a team of three. A girl with purple hair and two boys. Yumi gasped and stood up.

"Shii! Shii!" She ran out of the bushes.
Shii? Oh! That must be the girl Yumi told me about. I walked towards them as well and stood a few feet back.

"Yumi?" Shii asked.

"Where have you been? It's been awhile since I last saw you… I didn't even see you during the Chunin Exams", said Yumi.

"Well, I don't need a VIP entry. Besides, what's it to you?" She glared.

"Nothing, why do you think I care? Pfft, I couldn't care less", Yumi glared back.

"Oh yeah… I bet you're just here for our scrolls, aren't you?" Shii asked.

"I believe that you wouldn't want your boyfriend to lose, would you?" Yumi said.

"Who're you calling boyfriend?!" She yelled.

"Don't play dumb with me! You're acting all tough! Just like Sasuke!" Yumi yelled too.

"Guys! Stop it!" I said trying to back Yumi away from Shii. A boy from Shii's team held her back as well.

"This isn't the time for girl fights", he said.

The other boy exhaled loudly. "Ugh, when's it gonna end?"

"BTW, I forgot to introduce you… This is Kimura Uchiha", said Yumi.

"Uchiha?" Shii widened her eyes.

"Sasuke's twin sister", continued Yumi.

"Right then", said Shii as she calmed down. "I challenge you both, to a fight… Two on two", she continued.

"Deal… What's the catch?"

"You get to take our scrolls; the one you need to pass this test", said Shii.

"I'm not participating in this junk… you kids have your fun", said the other guy.

"So the great Lukashi Izan is backing out? Right…"

As Shii continued to talk, I noticed the boy with the red headband. He was gorgeous… suddenly, my fantasy was ruined by Shii's words…

"Me versus Yumi and Kimura versus Len… Len Satori", she said.

"Do we really need to fight? I mean, couldn't we just talk this over?" I said. I didn't wanna fight Len. This will be a bad start for a relationship… WHAT AM I SAYING!!!

"Don't tell me you'll chicken out, Uchiha girl?" Shii teased us.

"Kimura! What are you doing? We're not backing out, we'll win this thing and get the scrolls we need", Yumi told me.

Yumi and Shii started fighting. I hesitantly started fighting Len. I can't do it… I just can't!

"I can't do it! I'm sorry Yumi… I just… I'm…"

"Too scared to fight… I knew it", Shii said. A kunai flashed from her hand, aiming at me.

Yumi's POV

I saw Shii throwing a kunai at Kimura. I ran quickly to block it, so I pushed Kimura and blocked Shii's kunai with mine.

"I am so sorry Kimura", I said.

"Don't apologize to me, apologize to my butt", she said.

"Watch where you're aiming, Shikinosu!" I yelled.

"Whatever, you're just a waste of a good battle", said Shii.

"What did you say?" I glared at her.

Len walked to Kimura and helped her up.

"Are you okay?" He said.

I rolled my eyes for Mr. nice and handsome.

"Don't waste your time with this chick, Len", said Lukashi guy.

Len laughed abit then took Kimura aside. I narrowed my eyes for this weird behaviour… Whatever, I don't care anyway.

Afterwards

"I cannot believe I didn't get a scroll! Shii is such a jerk! She thinks she's all tough! Blagh! I can take her out anytime!" I nagged.

"Ummm, Yumi? There's something I need to tell you", said Kimura.

Kimura's POV

"Umm, Yumi? There's something I need to tell you", I said.

Flashback

"Kimura… here", Len said.

"OMG, you're giving me your scroll?" I said.

"No, we already have our scrolls… This is an extra one I've been keeping but don't tell anybody. You deserve it more than I do", he said.

"Aww, thank you so much", I said.

End of Flashback

"Sweet dumplings, he gave you a scroll?" Yumi said.

"Yeah, he's so sweet!" I batted my eyelashes.

"Yeah… he sure is…" She got lost in her thoughts.

As we continued our journey to find a scroll for Yumi, she kept nagging about Shii. Suddenly, we found a scroll on the ground. It was a heaven scroll.

"Kimura, look! A heaven scroll! Just what I need for losing ours in the first place", she went over to pick it up.

"Wait!" I threw a rock towards it. Suddenly, a net surrounded the rock and the scroll poofed.

"What the?"

"So, you were able to discover our trap, huh?" A voice sounded. "Just when we wanted abit of fun. The circle is now complete".

We looked around to see that we were back to where Sakura and Team Asuma is. Wow, that's one complicated forest.

"What do you want from us?" I growled.

"Kimura, I know these guys… They're the ones who kidnapped me in chapter 6-7. The exact chapters I got my cursemark in!" Yumi said.

"Oh, I wasn't there yet, right?" I said.

"Yumi! Kimura!" Sakura said. I noticed that her hair was cut and she looked beat.

"What happened?" Yumi asked.

"These guys are from the Sound village. Lee and Ino's team tried to stop them…" She explained.

"So, we got here at the right time. You're not taking me twice, not anymore!" Yumi charged at them.

"Yumi!!!"
