The Flower That Blooms in the Darkness

I kicked open the door to the hideout. Several people looked up, but I was too exhausted to recognize anyone immediately.

"Who's that?" I heard Pein-sama ask.

"I'm Natsumi, you jerk." I said, walking over to the couch.

"Not you," He said impatiently, "Him."

He pointed to the boy.

"Move off the couch and I'll tell you."

He did so, and I set him down gently.

"Can someone get me some food and water?"

Sasori-chan had it ready before I was done talking.

"Natsumi-chan, what happened, un?" Dei-chan asked.

I gulped down the food and water, then began.

"All of those scientists are dead. I found him in a cage. I don't know who he is." I admitted the last part.

I'd told them everything except for the part where I saw my cage.

"Pein-sama, can he stay here? Please? I'm sure that he has nowhere else to go." I asked him.

He contemplated this, then sighed. "Yes, he can stay. But the conditions are the same. He leaves here unsupervised, he dies. Understood?"

"Hai."

I checked his pulse again.

Far worse than what it had been when we left there.

"Hell no!" I shouted. Everyone jumped. "I did not bring you here just so you could fucking die on me! Fuck no! Dammit!" I exploded.

I would have to use that jutsu, then.

I made some hand-signs, letting chakra swirl around me.

"Junsei Itonami no jutsu!" I shouted. (Pure Life Jutsu)

The chakra condensed into a cloud, and then solidified into a transparent layer around him. He floated over the couch.

I felt the enormous toll this took on my already weakened body.

But it was worth it.

That was the last thought I had before everything went dark.
