The A7X Mafia

Valeria’s POV
I was not happy about having to go and see Don; I mean I’ve hated the man for most of my life because he is an ignorant ass hole.
I got in my car after bidding everyone a good bye and sped off towards HQ where he told me to be.
After about 20 minutes I drove the car around the large circular drive and parked right in front of the doors. Getting out I locked the car and walked up the stairs and through the main entrance.
Passing by all of the rooms, some of which mafia men were having meetings in or were just sat around but most of them turned their heads to watch me as I walked past their doors on my way to Don DiAngelo’s office.
Arriving at the door I took the handles and flung both doors wide open and walked into the room asking
“What is the big deal?” I said into the room but stopped dead at the sight before my eyes.
In front of me was my mother sat in a chair next to Don, both in front of the fire place which he has in his office. Madre stood up and gave me a small smile
“hello darling” tears filled my eyes, I was able to be a bit emotional this time, the ball wasn’t the best time
“Madre” I choked out and she quickly walked towards me and wrapped her arms around my trembling frame. I was taller than her so I had to bend slightly to put my head on her shoulder and cry, I could feel her shaking as she cried as well.
After a few minutes of the cry fest I straightened and rubbed my eyes getting rid of the tears. I smiled at Madre before turning to Don
“is this why you brought me here?” I asked and he shook his head. I went to ask more but Madre placed a hand on my arm making me look at her and she spoke
“Figlia please sit down and let him explain” I stared at her a moment before silently walking and taking a seat in the chair furthest from him, my back straight as I perched on the edge of the chair.
Don sighed
“you don’t have to be so wound up Valeria” I scowled
“just say what you have to Don, I have a wedding to help plan” Madre smiled and clapped excitedly
“oh I’m so happy she’s getting married and that Zacky is a nice man, he is good for her no?” I nodded with a smile in her direction
“yeah they are so much in love and I’m happy for them” Madre smiled
“yes, that Matt’s is a fine one as well” I raised a brow
“Mamma we aren’t getting married any time soon so hold off on that and focus on Arianna” Madre huffed half heartedly and gave me a wink. I laughed and Don coughed bringing my attention back to him.
Something was off, I could tell because Don was looking slightly nervous and anxious, ringing his hands and tapping his foot. He finally looked up at me and said
“I’m sorry Valeria” I looked at him confused
“what are you talking about?” I asked and he let out a shaky breath
“I’m talking about the situation with your father, I’m sorry I didn’t know what was going on in your house, it’s my job as the leader to know everything that is going on but I didn’t and a family suffered because of it” I stared blankly at him, the words not quite settling in
“you’re sorry?” I asked and he nodded and I felt the years of anger come to the surface “you’re sorry?! Oh yeah it’s easy to say that now isn’t it when everything is over and done with!” Don sighed
“I know it’s not going to change anything that happened Valeria but I don’t have a time machine to go back and change it so all I can say now is sorry” I glared at him and I was about to shout again but Madre spoke up
“why do you hate him so?” I turned to her and said
“Momma he saw the evidence of what dad was doing to you but he did nothing, who in the world could believe that you are clumsy and heck did he think I went out and killed for nothing!” Madre glared at me and said calmly but with anger evident
“Valeria Bella Lodovico, you were brought up better and you know more than others that people don’t always see the obvious, it is not Don’s fault that your father god rest his soul was a bad man, your father was just born that way” my eyes widened at her onslaught and her raised voice, she never raised her voice when I was growing up because she was always trying to make up for the fact that Padre always was.
“Mamma-”
“don’t you Mamma me Valeria, Don has tried so hard to help me and since finding out about your Padre he has tried so hard to make for it with me and he even offered to help me with everything so I wouldn’t have to move out or anything” I spare a glance over at on who is looking at the floor kind of dejectedly. I sigh and cut in on Madre
“Momma you know I love you and everything but I just don’t understand how he couldn’t see it I mean he saw both of you on a regular basis and he knew Padre, knew what he was like, it’s not hard to figure out”
Don looked up from the floor and straight at me
“I don’t have any excuses but I can only give you facts, your father was a superb actor and was very adept at hiding his emotions and thoughts” he took a deep breath “he was like a best friend to me in some ways and well it’s not right to love a friends wife so I tried not to get involved, to stay away so I didn’t wreak their lives” my mouth was wide open as was Madre’s but she recovered quickly
“you love me?” she asked dazedly and Don nodded while still looking at the floor.
I watched as Madre got up from her seat and went to her knees in front of Don, pushing his chin up so he was looking her in the eyes.
“Tell me” Madre asked softly and Don looked into her eyes and said
“I love you, I have since I first met you but you were to marry Alessandro and I couldn’t do anything plus at the time you looked so happy I couldn’t and wouldn’t do anything to make you sad” I watched as Madre cupped the side of his face with the hand that was on his chin
“Don I was happy yes, even when he was treating me badly because I had a place for him in my heart but there was always you there in the fore front, I had wished so many times that it was you I would be marrying, you who would father my children but it never happened and I gave up hoping” I could see Don’s face changing through the whole speech until it had transformed to complete happiness and then he was taking my mothers face in his hands and he was kissing her with out any restraint and I could see her responding fully.
It was awkward to say the least sitting there with my Madre snogging someone, pus they are old, eww. I kind of fiddled with my hands until it got a little weird and I coughed lightly making them break apart at the realisation that I was still there.
Madre turned to face me and smiled sheepishly
“well umm, that was err-” I laughed and said
“mamma you’re acting like Ari the first time you caught her” Madre laughed and blushed
“well that was a rather eventful night” I grinned and Mamma sobered
“you know what this means don’t you Valeria?” I raised a brow
“yes Mamma and you know that I’m still not terribly sure about it” Mamma just gave me her stern look and I held up my hands in surrender and looked at Don asking
“are you going to look after her?”
“Yes” he replied
“Are you going to hurt her?”
“I wouldn’t dream of it” he said looking into Mamma’s eyes and she smiled at him
“are you going to try and spoil me?” Mamma’s head snapped to me and she gasped
“Valeria?!” I laughed and Don grinned
“if I have to” I shook my head
“no it’s not necessary I just wish you two the best now I have to go and get ready for work” I stood and Mamma frowned
“you’re still working at that club” I nodded
“yes and one of my last is coming to the club and I have to kill him soon then there is only one left and I can officially leave after killing him” Mamma nodded looking unsure but gave me a hug and Don gave me a smile and a hand shake before I turned and left feeling better and happier about life.
I arrived back at home and got out of the car and made my way through the house and to Matt’s room where I knew he would be as everyone was hiding from Ari.
I knocked on the door and heard a muffled
“who is it?” and I grinned saying
“it’s Val” the door flew open and I was quickly pulled inside and the door closed behind me before I was pressed against it and Matt’s lips landed hard on mine and we got into a quick heated kiss.
He pulled back and I gasped
“wow I should really leave you alone more often” Matt shook his head and whimpered
“no don’t please ever leave me with your sister again! She’s a dictator and she’s mental, I barricaded the door earlier and she tried to get in with a hammer” I looked at the door thoughtfully
“you know I was wondering about those dents” Matt groaned and buried his head in my shoulder
“never again will there be a wedding if she and Zacky divorce she can stay by herself” I laughed
“aww poor baby” he grunted and pulled me towards the bed making me lie down and he laid next to me with his head resting on my stomach as he hugged my hips
“so what happened with Don?” I chuckled
“he said he was sorry and then he declared his love for my mother” Matt raised his head and looked at me in shock
“what?” I nodded
“yeah I was shocked myself and Momma even said she loved him back so I guess they are together now” Matt nodded in ascent though he was still slightly shocked like I was
“well did you forgive him?” he asked and I sighed
“yes I did” Matt nodded
“that’s good honey”
We didn’t talk for a while and I was starting to drift off when I looked at the clock. It was 6 o’clock
“shit!” I said as I jumped up making Matt’s head bounce onto the bed
“hey! What’s the rush?” he asked and I replied
“I have to get to the club” Matt growled and I turned to him, he was sat up and glared at me
“you’re going to the club? After what keeps happening there” I sighed
“we talked about this Matt” he frowned and looked away, his posture saying he still didn’t like it” I slumped slightly before walking over to him and sitting next to him
“I have to do this Matt, he is one of my last as soon as he’s gone I only have one left ok” he still wasn’t happy and I wasn’t going to deal with this now
“fine Matt, what ever I’m going and I’ll see you later” I then stalked out of his room and down stairs to my car, peeling out of the drive and heading towards the club.
