Matt’s POV
I woke up to my alarm playing ‘Hey Carrie-Anne’ by the Hollies and quickly shut it off with a groan. I rolled over and threw the covers off of me then got out and headed for the shower.
When I got out I wrapped a towel around myself then went in search of clothes, I got a black muscle T, jeans, socks and boxers then headed back to the bathroom and got dressed. I then brushed my teeth and washed my face, I towel dried my hair then ran a hand through it and walked back out putting the towel in the hamper as I went. I then walked out of the room and over to Valeria’s.

Valeria’s POV
I woke up to banging on the door, I groaned and rolled over, listening to what was happening.
“Valeria, open the god damn door will you!? You need to get up! UP NOW!” I got out of bed with a groan and headed for the door while patting my hair down.
I unhooked the chair and twisted the handle then opened it up to be nearly punched in the face by Matt’s hand
“god damn Matt, you trying to wake the whole neighbourhood?” he mock glared “nope just you sugar now that your up we have to go get your stuff” I scratched my head in thought,
“umm ok, but isn’t Brain coming and didn’t you say I could meet the others before we go?” Matt grinned
“well then, those lazy gits aren’t up yet so when you cover yourself up with ya jeans so you don’t give Johnny a heart attack thinking it’s his birthday then we can get going.” I rolled my eyes but went back in the room and put on my jeans and shoes anyway while Matt stood at the door watching me
“perv” I mocked at him
“tease” he mocked back. I laughed then headed out the door, Matt closing it after me.
He led me down the hallway and we stopped outside a door
“there’s someone in here that I know would love to help us wake everyone up, he is Jimmy’s kid and has to be the most hyperactive kid I have met”
“oh I don’t know, I bet you were a hyperactive kid yourself” I said and nudged him in the side, he grinned and put a finger to his lips then slowly opened the door only to be tackled by a small boy who knocked him back a few paces
“woah there Danny, how come you’re awake?” he asked the boy once he was stable again. The boy grinned at him
“I heard yellin’ so I waited and then jumped on you when you got here” I laughed at the kid
“ahh sorry little man, Matt was waking me up ‘cause I sleep like a log” the kid looked at me and giggled he then stage whispered to Matt
“she’s hot!” I laughed again along with Matt,
“ya dad teach ya that Danny?” Matt asked him and he nodded. Matt put him on the ground and Danny walked over to me.
When he reached me he stuck out his hand
“my name’s Danny, what’s yours beautiful?” I stifled a laugh and replied
“anything you want it to be baby” and gave him a little wink. He giggled and replied “no silly I want your real name” I faked getting serious
“ok then my name is Valeria Diva Lodovico of the Italian Lodovico’s and your full name please?” he grinned and said
“my name is Daniel Lee Sullivan of the umm Californian Sullivan’s” I grinned at him “so you’re a surfer boy at heart then Danny?” he nodded
“might have to take you to the beach sometimes, show you my moves” Matt piped up then
“alright stop flirting you two, we have people to wake up” Danny turned with a huff “do you mind? I was about to get some then” I laughed at him and ruffled his hair “call me in 20 years mate, we’ll talk then” he sighed and replied
“no point, you’ll be old and icky then” I gasped
“eww no way, I’m Italian, don’t you know Italians don’t wrinkle anything?” I then looked at Matt
“where to first Capitano Sanders?” he put on a thinking face then said
“Brian will be the hardest so we go Brian, Jimmy, Zacky then Johnny” I nodded and so did Danny then we set off like special agents down the hallway with Danny doing a cool theme tune for us. I looked at Matt and we grinned at Danny’s actions then we set off again behind him.
Danny stopped at a door and motioned for us to be quiet then slowly opened the door, once it was fully open we snuck into the room then surrounded the bed with Matt and I on the sides and Danny at the bottom. Matt held a hand flat then made two fingers imitate jumping on the bed, Danny and I nodded and then Matt counted down fingers from 3 to 1 and then we all jumped onto the bed and started bouncing up and down. As we jumped we got in unison and eventually we had Brian bouncing in the air at about our stomach level. He had woken up and was now yelling as we jumped and bounced him about.
All of a sudden there was this horrible cracking sound and then the bed collapsed taking us down with it. We all fell down on the broken bed with Danny landing on top of all of us in a heap.
A rush of footsteps came down the hall and 3 people burst through the door, one wielding a mop, another with a broom and the last with a duster. I burst out laughing at what they were carrying; they stood in the doorway in shock. When I finished I got out
“oh my god what are gonna do, clean us to death?!” Then I started giggling again with Matt, Danny and Brian joining in. The guys at the door looked at what they were carrying and threw it to the floor; they waited for us to calm down then gave us expectant looks. I got out of the heap of bodies and walked over to them and reached out a hand
“hi there, wow this is not the way I thought I would meet you though it is way better than we had planned earlier, umm my name is Valeria and I’m your new house mate” I shook hands with each of them and they told me their names.
Johnny asked
“so which one of those meat heads you here with then?” I looked back at Matt and Brian and grinned then faced Johnny
“Danny, he’s my little boy toy” I then winked at him and said
“nah, I’m here because I was given the old join or die thing which I was quite happy to do until my mother was mentioned and so here I am” Jimmy grinned
“you one of us?”
“err what do you do?”
“I’m an undercover”
“really what club?”
“how’d you know it was a club?”
“it’s the mafia, of course it’s a club, that new one down X-rated Boulevard right?” “how did you know?”
“been there a couple of times, you look familiar, you friends with anyone there?” “nope”
“good, I didn’t kill any of ya friends then”
“err I don’t think so”
“good” I grinned at him then turned to Matt
“can we go get my stuff now?” Matt scrambled off the bed and stood by me
“sure get your bag and we’ll head out”.
Brian shouted at us from the bed as we left the door
“hey fuckers what am I supposed to do about this bed?”
“get a new one” I replied and he glared at me
“what? It’s hardly our fault the wood was worn out, though that’s not your fault either ‘cause I know you don’t get enough to do that to it, must have been the previous- woah!” I jumped out the door as a pillow was thrown at me I peaked back in
“I was only telling the truth!” he made to get up and chase me so I screamed and ran down the corridor after Matt.
I caught up to Matt and jumped on his back
“Tally hoe Silver! Giddy up!” Matt laughed and walked down the stairs with me on his back and then out the front door. He walked straight past my car and around the side of the house
“err Matt, my car’s back there”
“I know, we’re taking a truck ‘cause I bet all your stuff can’t fit in that little car of yours” I squeezed his sides with my knees and he faked dropping me which made me yelp. I smacked him on the shoulder as we reached the truck and he dropped me to the floor.
“get in the car dolcezza and lets get going” I smiled at him
“you been taught Italian then?” he nodded as he got in the truck
“yes Ma’am, went to Catholic school me and was taught Italian, Latin, German and French” I smiled
“impressive though while learning all those languages you seem to have failed in grammar?” he laughed and said
“one time I could get any sleep was in grammar” we laughed and set off to my flat.

We pulled up outside my place and killed the engine
“you ready for my mess of a place?” he grinned
“can’t be any worse than Johnny’s room” I grinned at him and got out of the car. I walked up to the building and pressed the buzzer to flat 3, it crackled a bit then a voice came through
“who is it ‘cause if it’s my sister then she can fuck off as she didn’t call me last night” I groaned
“shit I forgot” I said to Matt, I pointed an accusing finger at him
“your fault, you distracted me” he gave me an incredulous look then leaned his back against the wall next to me. I pressed the com’s button again
“sorry Arianna, I got…caught up last night, can you let me in so I can explain it away from the prying ears of number 1 who have their com tuned in now?” I heard a laugh from the other end and then the buzzer signalling that the door was open. I rushed through and up the stairs to flat 3 then through the door which was ajar for me with Matt behind me.
I walked in to see Arianna sat on the sofa in front of the TV in her jammies.
“err Ari? You might want to put on some clothes” she just stared at the TV
“yeah? Why?”
*because we have a guest” Ari turned to see what I was talking about then yelped and pulled a blanket over herself while Matt and I stifled laughter.
“you could have told me you were bringing home a guy, I would have dressed better” “sorry sis but we haven’t got any time, we are packing up and leaving” Ari shot up, “why are we leaving? Did they find us out and are after us?” I sighed and looked at her
“Ari meet Matt, mafia heavy” Ari gasped
“oh my god! But you’re still alive? Oh tesoro did they give you a choice?” I nodded and replied
“I was gonna choose death to save you until Padre mention Madre and I thought of what it would do to her and I couldn’t do it so I am now working for the familia like I said I wouldn’t. Sorry Matt” he shrugged
“it’s ok, I don’t mind”
Ari turned to him and smiled apologetically
“sorry Matt, we just don’t have much love for the familia and well it’s nothing personal”
“like I said, don’t worry, now Valeria is there anything I can help you with?”
“err yeah in the cupboard in my room there are some bags and cases, can you get them out for me please?”
“yeah sure, which is your room?”
“the one that has a rose painted on the door” he nodded and then set off down the hallway. Once we heard a door shut Ari raced over to me and enveloped me in a hug “oh sorella, how could this happen to you?” I shrugged in her arms
“apparently I went after the wrong guy, they found out this time and tailed me, still killed him though so it’s ok” I let out a little laugh then as did Arianna
“that’s the sister I know, now where do we have to go?” she asked me as I stepped away from her
“we are going to that place on Richmond Hill Drive, that really nice place that as kids we always said we wanted to live there”
“oh yeah, that place is nice”
“haha yeah and we are sharing with 5 guys, a wife and girlfriend and a cute kid called Danny”
“aww one’s got a kid? That’s nice, where are they from anyway, they don’t look Italian?”
“they aren’t, they are from California, must be good to get in with the familia”
“yeah, anyway, I had better get to packing then and hey he’s hot!” I laughed
“trust you and yes he is” I then walked down to my room.

Matt’s POV
I walked down the hallway to find the door with a rose on it and I found it 3 doors down.
ok a rose in a puddle of blood, nice I thought to myself and opened the door. Inside I saw a room with clothes strewn everywhere and it seemed very…Valeria. I looked at the neat bed and desk but chaotic floor. I opened her wardrobe as I passed and saw it separated into sections but inside those sections it was completely randomly flung in. I then saw the cupboard and opened it up to see lots of duffle bags and other things, I got them all out and set them on her bed and waited for her to come in the room. I sat on the bed and looked at the picture on the desk across from me, it was of Valeria as a child, you could easily tell with that face, she looked to be with her mother and sister but where was her father?
“hey you ready to get packing then?” I heard from the door and I looked up to see Valeria stood there looking at me grinning, I grinned right back
“only if I get the panty draw?” she laughed and shook her head
“I don’t think so mister, pack all of the crap from my floor, I’ll do the clothes”
“aww shucks” I replied and grinned cheekily at her before beginning my task.
About an hour later we had everything in her room all packed up into bags along with her sisters. They took all they needed from the other rooms like magazines, toiletries, pictures etc and packed them up as well and then we were set to head back to the house.
“hey Matt! You gonna grab that bag for me?” Valeria asked me nodding to the one by the door. I smiled at her and picked it up before heading out the door after her and down the stairs. We loaded everything into the truck and then I went to get into the car but when I opened the door I saw the girls heading back to the flat
“err girls? The car is this way? There is nothing left up there for you to take” Valeria turned around and grinned at me
“oh believe me, there is” I raised an eyebrow as she turned and walked into the building, I decided to catch up with them and see what they were talking about.
I reached the flat door and didn’t see them in the living room so I walked through the corridor and found them in Arianna’s room, sat on the floor with a hammer
“and what do you need a hammer for?”
“to get the floor boards up! Duh” Arianna replied and then watched as Valeria took the nails out of the floor and lifted up the boards. I watched as she put them aside and reached in under the floor. After a moment of rustling she pulled up a suitcase and set it by Arianna then she dove back under. Arianna opened up the case and I watched as she revealed a load of money inside
“damn! What’s all that money for and where did you get it from?” Arianna grinned at me
“well it’s money we saved and gained interest on, its actually all the money from our accounts so the Familia couldn’t track our spending as you can’t track cash. It’s also form some jobs Valeria did and some that I stole”
“you steal?” she grinned proudly
“I am a master fraudster, pick pocket, thief; you name it, I can steal it* Valeria grinned up at her from her place rooting under the boards before returning to doing so.
“ah ha!”
“you got it?” Arianna asked
“yep, it’s still here, do you think you could hand me your penknife, I need to get it loose” Arianna pulled a penknife from her pocket and handed it to Valeria who grabbed it and used it to do something under the boards. A minute later it was free and she pulled it up out of the hole, when it was in light I could see it was a large brown envelope
“and that would be?” I asked them
“this is insurance and that is all you need to know Matt” Valeria answered, I glared at her
“are we on the same team now or what?”
“Matt this isn’t about the Familia, it’s about my Familia so you don’t need to know ok now lets go get the stuff from the bathroom and then we can head out” she then got up and brushed past me as she went to the bathroom, Arianna just shrugged at me and then followed after her. I sighed and then followed them, I got to the bathroom in time for Valeria to slam the hammer into some tiles, breaking them and when she had I saw that she had made a hole in the wall at some point and stashed some weapons in there, some nice guns were there too. She grabbed them and handed some to Arianna and I to carry.

Valeria’s POV
We finally got into the car and on our way back to the mansion; it took ages to get everything sorted. The ride back wasn’t any better though as it was completely quiet “you got any good music Matt?” I asked him, he pulled open the glove compartment, still with his eyes on the road and pulled out a CD case. I took it from him and flipped through the music, I chose a CD and showed it to Arianna for her approval and when she nodded I stuck it in the CD player, out flowed the sweet sound of Velvet Revolver. Arianna and I started singing and dancing in our seats while Matt slowly got a smile on his face at our antics. By the time we got home Matt was joining in with the singing and having a good time, the bad tension gone.
We got all of our stuff out and took it up to my room; when we dumped our stuff there Matt turned to Arianna
“you need to pick a room so go down the hall and pick one, just make sure it’s not occupied” Arianna nodded and set off down the hall to look for a room. I turned to my room and started opening up bags; half way through Matt coughed and I turned “umm what’s the matter?” Matt grinned and then jumped on my bed facing me and pouted
“I’m bored” I raised an eyebrow
“then go help Brian find a new bed, this time a sturdy one” he thought a moment
“ok, I will then but just to let you know, at 9 we are heading out to the club to check in with some things, you are coming with so be ready and dress for a club would you” I gaped at him
“you want me to dress like I normally would for that club?” he nodded so I just shrugged
“ok, what ever, 9 got it, go now” he waved at me then walked out the door as I got back to my un packing.
