The Trouble With Love Is...

Bill couldn’t concentrate on her, though he really wanted to.

He tried to listen as this beautiful girl talked about her family in Luxembourg, about how she visited them on holiday, but he just couldn’t pay attention.

Bill just wanted the food to come and to stuff his face and not have to worry about anything.

“Bill,” her soft voice pulled him away from his dismal thoughts.

“Ja?”

She looked worried. “Are you okay?” she took his hand from across the table and rubbed it gently. See, he still felt a tingle when she touched him too. What was going on?

He nodded.

“Bill, I’m worried about you,” she sighed, grabbing his other hand to. “Don’t look away, look at me.”

He forced himself to look into her big brown eyes. “I’m fine, I promise.”

Of course he wasn’t fine. He had to fight back tears every few minutes, his head was pounding and hurting like hell, and his stomach was churning so much he felt like he was going to throw up.

“I love you,” she said. “So I only want to help if something is wrong.”

“Nothing is wrong, I just have a little cold,” he lied, faking a bad cough. Well he’d be getting no kisses from her anyway tonight.

She smiled slightly and let go of his hands, believing his excuse.

She looked so beautiful, dressed in a cute green top and tight black pants. They really showed off her gorgeous figure. Her hair was in slight waves, which was how it naturally was. Bill liked it that way best.

This place was kinda fancy, he felt stupid walking in with clothes he’d wear on any normal day. But for once it was nice. No one followed him in.

It was really expensive here too, and there weren’t anyone their age there-mostly old people. But he wanted the best for Ina, because he loved her. At least he thought he did…

Their food came and Bill forced himself to eat, though he felt even sicker as he did. They talked idly about nothing in particular and Bill was feeling very uncomfortable. He couldn’t get Tom out of his mind, the way his lips felt with the metal of his piercing, his tongue roaming in his mouth.

That wasn’t right, that so wasn’t right.

A sudden thought came over him. Tom was his brother! What the hell had he kissed him for?!

His stomach let out a terrible lurch and he jumped from his chair and ran to the bathroom. He was glad he was alone in there and went into the big stall, proceeding to puke out the dinner he’d just eaten.

After he did that he was shaking and was crying without stop. And the only way he knew how to deal with any type of pain was to keep doing it, keep hurling. It was back again, ingrained in his mind. Because-to some extent-it did help him.

It just hurt him more than he knew, it was tearing his body apart yet again…

He stumbled out of the stall a good ten minutes later and went to the sink, splashing some water on his face and looking at himself in the mirror. He looked so pale. And he looked confused.

Bill kicked the metal garbage can in anger, hoping that would get rid of some feelings, and then decided to go out of the bathroom.

Ina was standing outside the door, a worried look on her face. “C’mon Bill, I’m gonna get you home.”

He nodded and took her hand. He was still shaking and could barely walk, but Ina helped him out of the restaurant after they paid and such.

Thank goodness there were no fangirls around, no one waiting outside of the restaurant for Bill to come out.

The two got into a cab and Ina handed him a pack of Tic-Tacs. “You need it hun, I’m sorry.”

He popped a few into his mouth and then snuggled up against Ina’s shoulder, still feeling so sick. He started to cry again, softly.

She kissed his forehead and held him, rubbing his back gently. Like Bill would do anything for her, she would do anything for him.

Bill looked out the window. It was starting to snow, ever so slightly.

“I’m sorry Ina,” he said softly.

“For what?” she looked at him.

“I wanted tonight to be special,” his face got red. “I want us to kiss…and stuff…”

Ina giggled. “We’ve got forever for that. Besides, things happen.”

Forever might have to be cut short… “Yeah but I got sick.”

“Again, things happen. It’s okay. I just want you to feel better.”

The snow was picking up and the cab stopped outside Bill’s house.

“I’ll see you tomorrow, okay?” Ina let him go and kissed his cheek gently.

He reddened. “Ja, tomorrow.”

She waved and he got out of the car, feeling a bit better than he had when he’d left the house. He let the snow fall against his mane of hair and then walked into the house, wondering if things would be so much different than before…
