Love as Bitter as It Ever Was

2 Hours

1 Hour, 59 Minutes, 15 Seconds.

1 Hour, 59 Minutes, 25 Seconds.

1 Hour, 59 Minutes, 30 Seconds.

Where the hell is she?

She has 30 Seconds, or else I’m going to find her.

I had been constantly pacing since she left.

Back and Fourth, Back and Fourth.

I think I was driving everyone mad.

But why hadn’t we heard anything?

Why hadn’t she got back?

2 Hours.

That was it.

I stopped pacing, and span around, running for everyone else.

I burst through the tree line, where all the other people were sat.

“We go now and find her.”

They all mumbled, but stood up, and followed.

Already I was running, jumping across the ground.

The smell of werewolves was getting stronger, the burning from the flames getting heavier in the air.

I could smell her now, her scent mixed with werewolf.

“Sir! We can’t just run in there, we will be slaughtered.”

I stopped, only metres from their camp.

He was right.

I sighed, hanging my head slightly.

“Ok, we sneak in, and find out where she’s got to. Tailor, you go around the edge, and see if maybe she is still hiding. The rest of us, will check out the camp.”

Tailor nodded and ran off, and I began melting into the bushes, creeping along the ground.

There was a tent, a wolf stood outside of it, guarding it.

I could smell her, her scent strong here.

I crept up to the side of the tent, I couldn’t see through it.

I slowly walked to the edge of the tent, the guard hadn’t seen me.

Suddenly a howl echoed from somewhere across the camp.

The guard’s head pricked up, and for a moment, I thought maybe he had seen me.

But, thankfully he turned and ran off in the direction of the howl.

I could sense all of my men, around me, each on edge.

I slowly began to walk around the front of the tent, but the door area burst open, I wolf stood there, his head staring off into the direction of the howl.

As he burst through the tent, all I caught was a massive lungful of Kailli scented air.

And he, stank of her.

That Wolf.

He disappeared back inside the tent, and I made my way to the door.

He was sat next to her, holding her hand, while stroking her forehead with his other hand.

Anger fuelled inside me.

How dare he.

She lay, unconscious on the bed.

Her pale skin, looked caked in sweat, her eyes shut tightly.

What had happened to her?

She looked….weak.

I put one step inside of the tent, a low hiss escaping my throat.

His head snapped up, his eyes wide open in surprise, but narrowing as he took in my appearance.

Immediately he was in a protective stance at the foot of the bed, growling at me.

He had been in human form, but his Auburn hair now coated his body, as he transformed into a wolf.

I was about to attack him, to rip him to shreds.

When a low moan escaped those perfect lips of hers, and she groaned in pain.

I heard the bed move, and she gasped, as she saw what was happening.

The wolf adjusted himself so that he was blocking off my view of her.

Suddenly a thought hit me.

He thought I was going to hurt her?!
