The Beach House

Monopoly and Cookies.

“Mom?!” I called setting down the groceries, two hours, two full hours of food shopping with Joseph freakin’ Jonas, not the highest moment in my life.

“Not here!” Dylan called back from the game room, I nodded and began to put the groceries away, “What are you doing?” I glared as Joe grabbed an egg container from the brown paper bag,

“Helping, what does it look like?” Joe mumbled grabbing some milk, “That’s so not like you.” I said slowly pulling cereal out from the bag, “Well I hope you know I’m not like this all the time, just to you” Joe smirked.

I scoffed, “Yea whatever rock star, I’m done with mine.” I said folding the bag and placing it neatly on the wooden table top, I sighed as I enter the game room and fell onto the comfy white couch closing my eyes,

“Jamie?”

“Mhhm”

“Ja-mie?!”

“Ugh!”

“Jamie Anne Jad-“

“What?!” I screamed sitting up right. “Can you play monopoly with me and Frankie?” I sighed looking at his smiling face, “no.” I said flatly leaning back into the sofa, “Nick and Kevin went out with dad and Paul, and moms out and-“ I sighed stopping his sob story,

“Why don’t you ask Joseph?” I replied rolling my eyes, “that’s a good idea; he can be on your team!” Frankie and Dylan began cheering while setting up the board.

I wasn’t going to win this.

I huffed and pushed aside my pride as I stomped up the stairs, “Joseph?!” I yelled through the door not bothering to knock, a minute or so later sleeping beauty appeared rubbing his eyes,

“You and me are forced to play monopoly with Frankie and troll, be down in two minutes” he nodded and yawned and then shut the door, in my face. I ignored it and returned downstairs.

“Can we stop now?!” I whined, we where two hours into the game, two hours out of four hours into the stupid monopoly game, “nope!” Joe smirked rolling the die and moving the top hat, “Ugh!” Joe sighed.

I smirked and chuckled to myself, “Jail, right where you belong!” Frankie giggled and I smirked, “Your turn princess,” Joe smiled, well not a real smile more like a deceitful smile.

“Six! Two hundred dollars please!” I grinned happily as Dylan handed over the big bucks, “I’m over this, who wants cookies?” and like that all three boys hands shot up into the air,

“Great!” I smirked getting up from my now throbbing knees and heading into the kitchen, I took out the ingredients and was about to cut open the cookie mix when hot breath began to tingle on my neck,

“Don’t hurt your self Jade.” I could almost see his smirk, “And since when have you cared?” I asked ignoring the tingling sensation and turning around. “Just don’t want to see your per-tee little self get hurt.”

I rolled my eyes, “wipe that smirk off Jonas,” He shrugged and took a seat at the table rattling his fingers against the wood. “This is a cool house,” he mumbled scanning the room,

“I know” I said mixing the batter and placing it onto a cookie sheet. “Call me when it’s done, I don’t want you to burn yourself Jonas.” He glared and I smirked taking off the oven mitts and slinking out the back door,

“It’s beautiful out here.” A soft voice came, I felt my heart drop as the peace was suddenly disrupted, I felt the sand crunch next to me, “It’s my favorite place,” I replied not even bothering to look at how it was,

“I can see why, so peace full very scenic.” He observed. “Are the cookies done yet?” I asked facing him, he shook his head ‘no’ and continued to stare out across the water.

“You know Jade your not as bad as I expected,” I snorted and face him, “Expected?” I asked raising an eyebrow, he simply nodded and continued to stare, “Well hanging out with you is only painful for a few seconds I suppose.”

And at that moment I saw a true smile, the real Joe Jonas, “Do you smell that?!” I asked standing up alarmed. Joe looked confused for a few moments, “The cookies!!”
