I know mascara commonly is black, even though there are a few other colours. Just not thinking this is what you meant?
Red lipstick, that can be pretty good looking. I'm considering using that for the next article on the subject, when I get to it. Most likely a nice metallic bloody red.
Since I don't know what's available where you, or anyone else live, you'd just have to make the choice on exact details, to make it your looks. Even if I'm not mourning everyone who doesn't choose this particular look, I may still rejoyce in knowing people enjoy the article, and, or the looks.
A few small adjustments doesn't change anything, it's just making it your looks.

As in I see no reason I shouldn't wear black, glittery smokey eye make up and bright red lipstick to go shopping.

    Thanks.
Guess I figured I you can't make one, that will fit on every face, and thus, I never tried to.
On the other face, I can, and plan to make other articles on the subject. Maybe the next is more what you'd consider wearing?
Dark, as in 'darker colours', or as in 'darker mood', or?

You did what you set out to acheive - it's an interesting, clearly explained article. The only reason I don't plan to try it myself is because I like my make up much, much darker.

That would be an entirely different look? I think this would be best addressed by the once making the make-up. I may have a few ideas on how to correct it, but until I can create my own brand, this will remain my ideas, sadly.
Just like I don't know what brands are available where you live. I just tried to make an interesting article on a look I like, and how I'd see best to make it.
I'm not sure if this can look good on everyone. Some of the colours would have to be adapted for your skin, your eyes, as well as your personal preference. I made some allowance for this, as far as I managed, within the confines of the desired looks.
Maybe it would serve to state, that it isn't exactly an every day look, just like it isn't the special party look? Maybe it is more to make you feel special?

Not everyone likes the look/feel of gloss so another way to make lipstick last longer is to blot the first coat and reapply or to set it with translucent powder and reapply. Personally I do both.

My only advice with this is that if you have blue eyes or very pale green eyes, avoid the pink eye shadow at all costs, as it can make your eyes look puffy or like you've been crying~ :B
