The whole beginning about writers block being a myth was wonderful inspiration for me. Not too long ago I told a friend of mine that writers block is just a poor excuse for having an unstable plot and/ or not having it pieced out well. However, that is my opinion, and I think other factors can contribute to that. But, what you said about failure is right. Sometimes when I write, I'm too consumed with making it perfect. But there is no such thing as perfection and sometimes not over thinking it will give you the greatness that you want. Besides, you can always go back and change things or do it again.

I know from experience that just putting the pen to the paper will let the words flow a lot better than thinking about it before writing. I mean, I tell the art students that were in my class all the time (because they come to me because I'm an exceptional artist) to put the pencil/brush/marker/chalk to the paper. They say "How should I start?" and I say, "Just put the pencil to the paper" They think I'm crazy and no help until they do it.

I'm just happy that in this tutorial, you helped me remember my own damn advice. I'm going to start writing now... yeah.

I liked the 'just before you sleep' one. Very true, although sometimes even dreams may help. Often times, I'm thinking about a plot when I can't sleep, and it just won't come. And then I dream the perfect one. Perhaps we should give our sub-conscious more space to work.

Great article. I emailed it to my Creative Writing professor from last term and he liked it. He said he was going to share it with his students now. (:

Lol, I actually do most if not all of these. I also, if I'm having the problem of putting the picture in my head to paper the way I want, just write down whatever it is in my head in the most simplistic terms, then the next day, rewrite!

The title kind of reminded me of a saying, "Calories don't exist if you don't count them."
    Anyways, GREAT tutorial!

Something else that can help with Writer's Block is outlining your stories. If you know what's going to happen and you like it then you'll be able to write faster. Amanda Hocking wrote a novel called Hollowland in 6 days by using this.

I think that when I can't write out what I'm seeing as a scene in my head, I just get frustrated and give up. I don't know if that's necessarily writer's block, but it always feels like it is. Sorry

I try a lot of those tips and sadly my writer's block is coming back. My last block lasted about half a year until I finished my book that I plan to publish. But, with the start of this new story...I'm only 8 chapters in and I such bad block o_o...
