i think its sick and disgusting, but i guess its their choice.

it does bother me however that he's 25 and she's 19 . . .. it makes me wonder if she's only going with the leash thing because she's insecure that he'll leave her . . . .the situation is all too typical. . . . but its always been a metaphorical leash until now

I think it's really their choice what they want to do with a dog leash [oh gosh, that sounded kinky. ahaha]. But, I also see the bus driver's point of view, and I wouldn't exactly consider it discrimination. I mean, them and their dog leash aren't doing any harm.

I see both points here. I mean, yes, do what you want with a dog leash, but at least be expecting something like this to happen, because other people do care about safety.

    So, uh, yeah :)

If they want to do that then it's their right but it's to much like ownership to me. In another article she says that she leads a very laid back and easy life and he does everything for her. They both even admit that she is a pet.

If they want to do it then it's their choice but I find it degrading for her and I certainly couldn't stand being tied to someone and being treated like that.

Personally, if someone wants to be led around with a dog chain. that's up to them. but, i see the drivers point too.

What if the bus tipped for whatever reason, she could choke or it could be caught on a railing and she could die. Safety is an issue, some drivers are idiots with their driving. At least he showed that he cared

i do find this mildly hillarious, they should be left alone, if in their relationship she wants to be walked around on a leesh so be it, its not hurting anyone. And its not really influenceing children as it is one couple out of billions in the world. I hardly think if a child sits near them on the bus that one time they will then grow up to think its the norm. They may instead grow up to be a little bit more open minded. If people want to do that its fine, people do much weirder stuff behind closed doors. I completely understand the safety issue, but that assuming that is the real reason they weren't allowed on the bus, realistically it probably was discrimination. But sadly i think couples that choose to do this publically will have to come to accept some forms of discrimination, as although in a perfect world it wouldnt happen, in ours it would as the couple are a rare odd minority.

For fucks sake, as a woman I find that practice offensive. What kind of example does their sick and twisted relationship give to children? The leash is a sign of OWNERSHIP, regardless of they may say in defence. Both seem to be attention seekers in the most lewd and depraved form. The display of chauvinism in its lowest form should not have to be accepted by the public who have thankfully evolved and have every right to be offended.

well the safety risk thing makes sense. enough said. If the bus falls over or breaks and the couple are thrown from each other and he's still holding on, thats a choking hazard for the women. its not rocket science. Its not discrimination. People always think discrimination because they are use to it and look for it.

I don't think that had anything to do with the busdriver. Obviously they know it is a safety risk, i mean come on! a leash on her neck! so the bus driver simply used "safety" as a cover up for discrimination.

    That's just rude, and inconsiderate.
Safety reasons? What, was the metal on the leash causing a magnetic reaction to the bus, and harming people?

Just because someone is different, they get treated like dirt.
It was an act of discrimination. There is no other way that nimrod bus driver could spin it.

I think them having a leash is really cute, actually.
I'd totally do that with my fiance.

Really sucks to be them, though. It's all stereotypes and labels these days.

    Damn bus driver.

This story here is missing a few tidbits of information. Such as the treatment that the man recieved even weeks after the first incident by the same bus driver, when he wasn't even with his fiance, and the key fact that they always unhooked the leash and took it off before even boarding the bus, which just makes the behavior of the driver that much more horrid.

I first heard about this over on LJ, and many of the opinions seemed to be that the couple are 'freaks' or whatnot. I'm willing to bet that if they dressed in more 'normal' clothes, like jeans and t-shirts, and still happened to use the leash, they wouldn't be branded as such quite so often. It's clothing, people. Get over it. :(
