my friend got suspended for wearing flip flops to school.

they said it was a distraction to the education process when she walked in the halls, and its against policy if its a distraction to the education process

*shifty eyes* everyone in favour of the idea that schools have too much power say aye..(or whatever it is sp wise)

ARE YOU SERIOUS!?
Lighten up, school systems! The sad thing is that the people get away with these frivolous punishments! This kid's future could be affected for buying SKITTLES!
SKITTLES!
I call for a petition for CT to have his title back. OVER CANDY!? Wow. This just tells you how truly jacked up the educational system in America truly is.

That's so stupid. They're kids. They eat candy. Just because he bought it? That's just...stupid.

It's one thing to get in trouble for eating candy but buying it? Sheesh. That is strict and wronggg. In my [crappy-ass, number-one-on-the-list-in-certain-kind-of-in-school-crimes] school, we get away with everything. Which is...bad. But, still, suspenion is stupid, especially if he's already a good student. I agree about lunch detention. I got that once...it was surprisingly fun.

Redicilous!
That doesn't deserve punishment at all, no less suspension.
So the kid is like "Hey, I'll give you my skittle for a buck!" and two kids get suspensed?!
If the school really want to punish them they could do a "lunch detention" like they have in my school district, where you spend you lunch period in the detention room but it doesn't count toward your permanent record.

the school system really needs to lighten up on the candy thing
its not like they can possibly stop kids from eating candy.
