Argh. Everyone I know is constantly going on about "abusive messages" and "intolerable rudeness." Yeah, right. I'm sorry, but it was so funny. I read the transcript for it, and it was absolutely hilarious. I think that Brand is just a silly boy who said the right thing at the wrong time, because it turns out that, yes, he did sleep with Sachs's granddaughter. Who, by the way, is a dancer in a troupe called "The Satanic Sluts." Classy.

To be honest, I don't know where the Jonathan Ross doesn't cross the line bit came from.
Obviously he's not as bad as Russell [who I actually think is pretty funny although slightly over-rated] but he did once ask David Cameron if he wanked off to Maggie Thatcher...

I personally find Brand's material really funny and unique. Most of the, anyway. But forcing him to do all of this and pressuring him into resigning won't prevent him from doing it in future. Didn't he say something like: 'Controversy is good... unless you don't want anything to change in the world'?

But he's been offered a job at a radio station over here..
Hope he takes it.

I'm so irritated over this.
it's a joke, it was funny. It's all over the news, I don't think it's a big deal.
His granddaughter's in that burlesque group right? Satanic Sluts?

I prank call people all the time.

What's the difference between your mother and a sick Malord?
One's a sick duck I can't remember the rest but your mother's a whore

@The Write Words?: Just because someone doesn't think it's a big deal or finds what he did funny doesn't mean they're "immature" or that they don't know what they're talking about.

Thing is Russel's like a child that needs to be told when to stop and the bbc failed to do that, not only that but Johnaton ross encouraged him. I'm not saying what they did was right, but someone higher than them obviously looked at what they were going to do and thought it was funny and said go for it, so it's as much thier fault as Brand or Ross.

"Doll Face" and "Down Straight Up" ... i couln't have put it better myself.

I would expect nothing more from immature kids to say "loosen up" or "russell brand is hilairious". Hearing something like that about your own family, on a national radio programme is hardly "hilairious". The things they said were insulting, and no i don't hate Russell Brand or Jonathan Ross and I think it's good they've apologised. But please, "he's a legend" or "who cares" is a typical remark from someone who doesn't know what they're talking about.

They've been suspended by the BBC. Which is pretty stupid since the BBC allowed it to be aired.

The media has blown this all out of proportion and is attempting to avoid talking about, in my opinion, more serious news - such as the economy.
Even Andrew Sach's has said that they are entertainers, and it is there job to entertain.
OK, so it wasn't right, and they admit that.
So aren't they paying enough for that silly mistake?

If anybody is to blame, its the person at the BBC who allowed it to be aired. It was not live, it was pre-recorded.

The BBC must be crapping themselves. Russell [Whom I adore btw] is supposed to be on Never Mind The Buzzcocks on Thursday. Given it's pre-recorded they'll be combing through it like nothing on earth. If they even let him be a guest and not axe him. It would just be stupid if they did axe him as I doubt they'd do that to Jonathan [whom, for the record, is a presenter and not even a comedian, or funny] on his show.

I don't know why the media are so up in arms about it. All I've heard from the person who the prank calls were to, was that he was deeply upset by it or something. I don't know if he made an official complaint. Everyone else did it for him!

It was the BBC's fault for airing it anyway. No, Russell and Jonathan shouldn't have done it in the first place but BBC should have had the sense that it would upset people. It's not the first time EITHER Russell or Jonathan have upset people with what they have said, they should have seen it coming.

Jonathan will appologise on his show and Russell will appologise on buzzcocks [if he's allowed on] what else can they do? It's done and they can't take it back people will get over it eventually

Sorry. I just read through the other comments.

Brand claimed to have slept with the guys granddaughter. If someone rang up my granddad claiming that...all hell would break loose. That's downright insulting. He has every right to be offended and to expect a public apology.
Just because he's 'Russell Brand' does not mean he's exempt from good manners. Jeez.

I've never found Russell Brand particularly funny. Don't hate me, it's just my opinion.
He has a tendency to take things too far sometimes. Maybe what he said about the other persons granddaughter really offended the guy or something?

Does anyone know what the prank calls were about?

Russell is one funny person. I love him.

I don't really think this is a big deal. He does this for a living. People know what he is like. They really should get over his stunts already. It's who he is. Shouldn't they expect it by now?

Hmmm yeah, 'cause a couple of comedians making prank calls are what're wrong with the world. Not the vicious muggings and knife crime. People need to get over this; they know they did wrong, they crossed the line, they apologised. Everybody screws up, I wouldn't really say it's newspaper worthy. ¬_¬

I remember prank calling when I was in 7th grade.

Hahahaha that shit was funny...

But yeah, everyone needs to get over this. I don't care what they said or did or whatever. It was meant to be a joke and it should've stayed that way.
