Interesting. I've bought a rainbow-studded belt but seldom use it, the leather-like material seems to wear out too easy where it bends.
I'd never thought there was a history to studded belts before this decade..
i have a couple studded belts.
and some are like pushed in, and you have little flaps to fold, and unfold to take them out and rearrange or whatever, and its a pain in the ass when im putting one on. and the back fucking jabs into my hand, hurts like a bitch.
This is really random but during WWII they'd put studded collars on Doberman Pinschers and Shepards so if an enemy tried to grab the dog by the collar they'd puncture their hand. :D It hurts when you DO grab them, though. We got one for my Doberman and, well... let's just say I forgot about it. :D
age turns studded belts into weapons of pain, a had a studded belt for 4 years the same one and the back metal flaps that hold the stud in place came out and scratched me XO but, interesting article lol.
I don't think it was an article, but it was descriptive. I think it would be more of an article or essay if you dug deeper into the history of studded belts... But very good!
I never understand why people suddenly avoid things because they become "mainstream". EVERYTHING is mainstream if you buy from a store, imo. Unless you're making you're own clothes, you're going to own something that at least 50 other people have...
I'm personally rather dislike studded belts, but a lot of my friend have them (that's what happens when you hang out with the one true Indie Kid in the whole of North London...)
I personally prefer any belt with an interesting, elaborate buckle or waist belts.
But hey, each to their own, and that's really interesting about the generals. That made me want one just that little bit more, I could go round with rolls of machine gun ammo and a studded belt. That'd be the life...
I used to be fascinated with them, but I never got one, for some reason. Now I'm all crazy for like feminine belts that are worn on the middle of the body and shizzle... haha I would have hit myself over the head for saying that like 2 years ago.
