Awesome article although might want to change the part about their hairstyles; Bill's mostly. Not hating, just giving good criticism. I actually bought the new album and loved it.

Also, people who go on about how "you aren't a TRUE fan if you start disliking them for their new sound! I like them no matter what!"

It's sort of like. You didn't like them for their music then? they've got you all hooked in and ready to lap up anything they serve.

the reason people dislike bands that become popular (my interpretation of it anyway) is that, sometimes, they sell out. That means changing their sound to appeal to the masses and missing the whole original purpose of their music.

Considering tokio hotel is changing their sound, it appears that they are trying to get more fans, knowing that their old fans will probably stick/don't matter.

I don't listen to tokio hotel, but after reading this article it makes perfect sense why fans are upset with their new look sound and success.
Likewise I was sort of upset when modest mouse became famous and became all pop.

Oh god. I hate it when people start hating a band because "they're different" or "they're popular". Grow the fuck up. Seriously, there is nothing wrong with a band becomming popular. It's just like if you have a job and you got a promotion. I don't think people are gonna be like "oh I'm not gonna hired him! He's popular!"
If you like the music, that's all that matters.

It also really annoys me when people get pissed when the singer changes his look. Who cares? It's not effecting their music! If Bill wants corn rows, he can have 'em! if Tom wants dreads, he can have him! If Geard Way wants bright red hair, he can have it! (sorry going off topic there lol) The point is, it's their bodies, they should be able to do what they want with it without people bitching at them.

Shut the fuck up haters!

Nice article by the way :)

The only opinion I have on Tokio Hotel is that Bill is a fag. How can you have sex, or want to have sex, with a guy who is prettier than a woman, without being considered lesbian? I just... don't get it.

I believe it is their body, and they can look however they wan to look. Usually, if someone from a small town in Germany got as big as they did, they must be good. I think they should be allowed to expand their range in their music styles. If you dont like the "new" Tokio Hotel, then listen to the "old" one. Not something to make a massive fuss over.

I agree with AudenCliche.

The music is not to bad, but it is not something I would listen to unless I had to listen to it.

"that's how teenage girls are these days." First of all, I'm a teenage girl and I'm not like that! It's about the music :D I like their new stuff and the older stuff. I also think it's really lame that people stop liking a band because of their success. People like that are just too fake and should stop trying so hard to be non-conformist. If they were ever a true fan they would support them ^ - ^

One boy thinks he's a girl and he other thinks he gangster. . .
I find that mildly disturbing.

The music isn't too bad.

I do like TH, though I haven't listened to them in a long while (I've been mostly listening to japanese rock, metal and some pop) But this whole change in music.. Well, it took me a while to get used to Automatic (I thought it was a bit too similar to some of LM.C's songs, but that's just me I guess) But I like it.. As for looks.. Who the heck cares? Only wannabe's care for looks.. Yes, a lot of the Jrock band/artist I listen to I find cute, or just plain out hot, but that's not why I listen to them.. Come on! -_-''

I liked them either way. I really don't like the way Bill hair looks, but I can deal with that. Tom might be delusional and thinking he's Justin TImberlake, and I could care less. I haven't heard any of their new CD yet, so I can't make my decision.

I LOVED their old hair and thought their music could improve (though I loved that too), and now that their hair is different, and in my opinion, their music better, it's good for them not to conform to "their look" and being brave enough to shake it up a bit.

I admit, I'm not a big fan of the haircuts, but... I don't hate them for that. I'm not that impressed with the newer music having more techno in them, but it's not all that bad. I still listen to them and am still a fan.
