I have to "speed-run" my way through the Gym Leader Castle on Pokemon Stadium (N64) just 'cause I can't save it. Can't say I find it too fun, but it is challenging!

Cool article as well, but I think the beginning of your conclusion is so obvious and irrelevant you don't need it, and could change it for the better ("Though speedrunning isn’t something that will change a world or even alter it noticeably").
