I listened to Kill the DJ up really loud and listened to the bass - it is awesome :D New addiction for me too!

Aw really? I haven't dared to watch the explicit one yet. Was it really that horrible? :S But assuming it is bad, I agree with what you said. It's just not their style either (looking at past videos). I don't know why they did that.

I love the song "Kill the DJ." It's my new addiction. I liked the video, too.

The "Oh Love" video not so much. The explicit "Oh Love" video on Playboy made me very angry. It was sickening. Green Day are my childhood idols and the last thing I want to see is them hanging around with naked women who are my age. It was unpleasant.

    Anyway, nicely written.

I loved this new video. I'm more excited for Dos! because, from what I've heard in the one interview on GDA, it sounds way better than Uno!

The only song that isn't my favorite so far is "Oh Love".

The videos for the singles have been shit. I thought Sam Bayer was better than that. But, this song is so fucking cool and catchy, nonetheless.

They already suffered the "curse of the bad first single". I think with that in mind, they'll make something fucking massive and blow the top off Corporate America once again.

I also really like the FBHT vibe too. I also agree with the whole "old" and "new" thing - it's still Green Day, and they're still making music that is good.

I've been a Green Day since I was 7, so I've heard this kind of style from them before, there is songs that sound like this, just look through the Warning album with songs like Fashion Victim. Plus I think they have this vibe that's coming from there side project Foxboro Hot Tubs who's sound I adore. I actually liked Oh Love, the video was okay. The video for Kill The DJ reminds me of my local nightclub and reminds on how I honestly hate that whole scene. I honestly can't wait for this new era, But I also hate the expression of this "Old" and "New" Green Day. There is no such thing, Green Day are still Green Day, doing what they please and experimenting with their music. I honestly can't wait for the new albums to be released. Love the article by the way! :)

That's what I thought, but it's not a review of an album, nor the artist, and there was no "other" category, so I felt like this was better.

Idk, I love Green Day for more than 3 years now (not a long time I know but who cares) and I can't say that I love what they are doing now, it's so weird ~
I loved the video though haha.

I totally agree with you. I've been a fan of Green Day since I was still a kid, and I have to admit that I was a little put off by Oh Love, but I really liked Kill The DJ. It's different from their other songs, but it's good nonetheless. And my opinion about the video is the same as yours :)
I can't wait for the three albums to come out :D

I think this is better suited to the 'review' section rather than the article. Well written, nonetheless c':

I've grown up with Green Day and so this latest offering (in the song alone) kind of makes me sad. (I didn't mind "Oh Love" though.)
Still, if they're happy making music still, I'm happy for them. At least I've still got my old Green Day music. :) And they always put on a great show! So I'd definitely still go and see them.
Still holding out for their upcoming albums though - I hope the songs get better!

I agree entirely with your article. I love Green Day, but I don't think just because I'm a fan means I have to love every single video... The music is definitely different, which I expect since they've been playing music for so long and are bound to experiment, but the "Oh Love" music video was just... pointless. "Kill the DJ" is a fun, catchy song that definitely fits with the video. Can't wait for the trilogy.

I stayed with Green Day since I was in 9th grade, and each time I've listened to any of their albums I'm just amazed by their work and them still being able to stay popular. I love the concept of their trilogy albums, I can't wait for them to come. My favorite album will always be American Idiot, it's just a masterpiece, yet I do agree with some that at times they are off when it comes to music videos.

    Love the article Wink

I stayed with Green Day, when people were hateing on American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown, but these new songs are just off to me. No matter how bad my day was, I could listen to Green Day and I'd suddenly be okay. But these new songs are just...no. I've tried to like them, because Green Day will always be my #1 favorite band. BUT the new CD's...I dare say I may not even buy them. Green Day will always mean something to me, and I will deffend them against haters no matter what...but I've lost some respect for them. They are slowly becoming no better than what's on the radio. Songs about partying and stuff. I miss the old Green Day, not like Dookie but anything before Uno. :/

    P.S. Good article :)

I love Green Day but I think they just keep missing the target when it comes to their new music videos. I liked ‘Oh Love’ better than ‘Kill the D.J’ as songs. I disliked both of the songs videos, though. ‘Kill the D.J’ sounded a little judgmental for my liking also. I still love Green Day but I’m iffy about liking their new C.Ds. I don’t know just wanted to give my opinion. Love your article, by the way!
