So it's a new album but not really. I also heard that they won't be releasing a CD form of Conventional Weapons and that it'll only be available online. :(
I'm excited for Conventional Weapons but also for the next few years when they release a (I guess an actual) new album. Either way, it's new music and I can't wait!
Good article but it's well known within the industry that Bob left due to repetitive strain in his wrist, and that's why he's gone onto live mixing. :)
I, at first was not a fan of DD to be honest. I left the MCR fanbase, only listening to a few songs off of DD every now and then.... 2 years later, after my bf/love of my life/first fuck/baby's father and I broke up, I turned to DD and that CD (plus my son) are the ONLY reasons why I am alive.
I cannot wait to hear Con. Weap. And when I meet Frank again, or any member of MCR, I'm going to have a heartfelt letter to read them as a thank you.
I as well was not a fan of Danger Days. I gave it a chance and really only liked Na Na Na, and Sing a bit. Aside from that I think I was just too out of the loop I hadn't really followed them for a while so I had absolutely no idea what the hell the whole Killjoy concept was, and still don't to be honest. I'm not really interested in role playing that sort of character, so DD is not for me. However that doesn't mean I'm opposed to the new album. I was actually disappointed that they scrapped it in the first place, I was very curious what was on it, so it's kind of cool they're allowing us to actually hear the songs.
@ Ginger Princess. Gerard supposively said on stage that they'd break up after they released "The World is Ugly", which is one of the songs to be released for download. But, Gerard says a lot on stage.
I don't think I could be more excited about this; so far, I've loved everything that MCR has come out with. I think that everything they do is brilliant, so I don't understand fans that were/are opposed to/disappointed by Danger Days because it's "not MCR". A band doesn't always want to stick with the exact same style of music, and so I think Danger Days was their way of moving on and growing as musicians. Of course, their stuff before Dangers Days is just as beautiful. So I think that whether it's more like Danger Days or more like The Black Parade, or Three Cheers, or I Brought You My Bullets - it'll be wonderful.
I just hope it doesn't sound like Danger Days. I want to be excited for this, and I am--sort of. But I'm scared it's going to sound like Danger Days and I'm going to be disappointed all over again.
This seems so cool, but... who the hell has a record player to play these? I'm not sure my folks' still have theirs and It doesn't seem like an easy to access thing for many people in our generation. But, hell... it's all good. If I have to dig around ebay, I will. I love MCR and it will open my mind a bit more to what has gone on. :)
I just have a feeling it's going to bring back some old fan's who despised Danger Days and it'll keep the new one's. I can feel it's going to be amazing.
Can not wait for it all to be released! Since the last of it gets released the month after my birthday, (January baby here!), I will probably just ask for the full set as a late present. Lol.
