I'm 30 pounds overweight, but I am perfectly happy AND healthy. I also know many many people who are overweight who love their lives just the way they are. So, why is it that overweight people HAVE to be put into the category of ''depressed'' or ''suicidal''? The only overweight person I've ever met who was unhappy had an eating disorder, but not because of their weight.

I agree with pretty much everything that's said, both with the author and the two previous comments. However, it is not wrong for the author to say that people who are overweight tend to be angry at themselves, not confident, and suicidal. I know plenty of people who think they're overweight (some of them definitely are) and it affects them HUGELY.They try not to show it, but I know a girl who wouldn't get into a bathing suit to save her life because she's so afraid of what people will think. Yes, it's true, some people who are "overweight" are completely fine with it, power to them, but it's the people who aren't that we need to help. It's for them that we need to stop pointless discrimination. And we need to get all of the focus off those models and magazines! Here's to banning air brushing

What's with the fat hate? "A final note is my observation that the overweight tend to be depressed, suicidal, angry, self-loathing, and under the overall dominance of the ego-brain"? Really? Barf.
