I say people need to learn how not to force there religon down other peoples throtes. So many wars and fights are over religones I think its something personal and she be kept to yourself Not out there for everyone to see. I think the world would be a much better place and there would be more peace if people kept there belifs to themselves.

Not at all worried.
Here's how I see it: If all the boring people who accomplished nothing and did nothing with their life but worshiped their imaginary friend go to heaven, I would rather hang out in hell with the cool people.

Thanks for this article! Although I do believe that easter was created before Jesus died and it's actually the holiday Lent that celebrates the event. :] And about wondering how God was created? No one knows. I know it's not a good answer but we'll find out when we die.

If we worshiped someone/something that we knew all the answers to then that person/thing wouldn't be worth worshiping. God is so almighty, our little minds just can't comprehend. I'm not going to push my religion on anyone and I respect everyone's decision. Thanks again for this article. Rock on!

P.S....just something I would like to point out....to the people that believe in the "big bang". How is it you believe in that and not God? No one has to answer that,I'm just making a point. I won't come back to this post either. :) That's all. Peace to everyone.

Apparently you all dont know WHO God is.

He is too mighty to have "been created" he has been here before time, and he will always be here.

Dont you wonder where you guys are going AFTER you die?
We have souls. and they either go to hell or heaven,

idk about YOU, but I am going to heaven!

Oh, and to ChelleChelle, you say part of believing in God is not wanting to go to hell. I call that fear. And that is not the basis of Christianity.

To ChelleChelle:
We didn't say he created it in seven days, ok? We said that you said he created it in seven days but in the article you said he created it in six. Ok?
Also most science textbooks are right. Science is usually right. I don't believe everything I see in a science text book but science is more logical then the bible is.

To cyanide-kisses:
You really need to learn about evolution a little more. I do have one question no one can answer, how was God created? He couldn't have just come out of thin air. Someone or something had had to create him.
Would you really rather belive a book that has no proof in it or science that is filled with tested proof? I'd go with the science book.
In all honesty, you should pay more attention in science class. Evolution is more than just evolving from monkeys and the big bang theory is more than just two thing colliding.

It's been proven that Jesus Christ was born in the fall, not on Christmas. Christmas is actually a vestige of a pagan holiday, Santa Clause is proof of that and the red costume he wears is something akin to a pagan ritual around the winter time.

God= false hope. People living in pain and poverty turn to 'God' to save them. God is hope. Nothing more.

Wow, I cannot believe you actually were saying the Big Bang is silly, along with evolution. Are you mad? They have actual evidence it could have happened and all you have is an ancient book made 2000 years ago by a bunch of drunks who rode donkeys around and married 15 year old girls. The Bible is a true example of how people aren't allowing us to grow as a society because there's always that one thing tying people down and telling them what to believe. Why can't people think for themselves instead of relying on a book? Live by your own moral beliefs, not someone else s.

God is not an instant ticket to gratification and forgiveness.

The problem with believing in God is that it is what you would call 'blind faith'. If something is without proof or evidence, then how can it be real?

Faith is a big part of Christianity and all religion as well, but it is simply a state of mind. It is not a basis of fact.

Oh, and cyanide-kisses please stop being ignorant.

The Big Bang theory is far more than "two random things meeting".

"and evolution is just silly, *sarcasm* oh yes did i tell you my uncl is a monkey?"

based on that statement, I'd say you have heard some serious misconceptions about evolution.

@Miss Ann throne

Some parts of science do support the Bible. to be honest, go ask your science teacher. There are parts of science that do rely on the Bible because theres no other way to explain it. Do you believe everything you science BOOK says? hmm??

I would rather spend a lifetime believing in God only to find out that he doesn't exist, than spend a lifetime disbelieving in God only to find out he does exist.

@cyanide-kisses: Well, not to come off as goddamned rude myself, but do you honestly believe everything just written in a goddam book and not things with actual evidence supporting them?

Science doesn't know everything, but it sure as hell knows more than religion.

And isn't God not man? All these things around me are man-made, not omnipotent-made. And besides, who created God?

Nicely written but not what I believe in. Of course there is proof of evolution and many things that point to the BIg Bang but then again, the Bible could have been written by a crazy person and gulible people began beleiving in a myth and these people planted 'evidence.' No, i do try to respect other religions though I am Athiest. Yes I do spell really bad but whatever.

i'm a proud proud Christian,
id be so lost with out god, hes my strength.
i believe Jesus came and died for us.
i believe god created the universe (in 6 days, on the 7th day he rested, we call it the sabbath, its a Sunday in Christianity)
i believe in the bible
and i believe in the power of the holy sprit.

the reason the article is written like "god is real" is because the person that wrote it truly believes it is the truth, just like saying "the sun IS shining today" they believe "god IS real"
just like me, i believe he is very very real.

but every one should remember that god it all forgiving, no matter what you have done in life, god will wash your sins away.

and there is a reason that most of out morals and laws could be first found in the bible.

haha @ Miss Anne Thorpe

do you really think you can consider it proof?

lol do you REALLY believe that "two random things met and suddenly went BOOM and there the earth and people and every living thing" (pretty much what it is) and was just suddenly there? our world is too complex to have been a random explosion, oh and btw just WHAT caused the big bang? and WHERE did those things come from hm? were they just always there? well SOMETHING HAD to have created them so you just tell me who.

and evolution is just silly, *sarcasm* oh yes did i tell you my uncl is a monkey?

sorry to come off as rude. but it is really just silly.

and look at every thing around you, your desk, computer, and clothes, EVERYTHING around us was made by someone, correct? so hence...shouldn't this world have been created by someone too?

It was written well, as in there were not many spelling or grammatical errors, but there were a few things that bugged me. In the first paragraph, you said that you respected other religions, then completely undermined that statement by presenting your beliefs as fact, when all they really are, are beliefs, just like every other religion that exists. As many have already said, there are countless other religions that believe that their deity created the Earth, the Heavens and so on.

Easter is derived from a Pagan holiday called Eostar, which is still practiced in the Wiccan and other Neo-pagan religions. So is Christmas, which is also known as "Yule". Many tales from the Bible were more or less stolen from ancient pre-Christian religions and legends, like Horus and Isis from Egyptian mythology. The image of the baby Horus and Isis influenced the Christian iconography of Madonna and Child.

It is possible and very much probable that there is life on other planets. We just haven't found it yet, since these planets are trillions of light years away.

This article really would have been better if the Christian religion had been presented in a more impartial matter; such as, if instead of saying "God is real, God did this, God watches you masturbate, etc.", it was presented as "This is what the Christian religion believes". I'm not saying you can't have bias and personal opinion in an article, but if the aim of the article is to inform people about the religion, then it really should have been, "this is what the religion believes", not "this is fact", because, I'm sorry, it's not, and it only serves to belittle the article and contradict yourself when you say you respect other belief systems. And it's not just Christianity. Most, if not all religions, have no scientific evidence or backing behind it. It is all pure belief.

As for me - I believe in Raptor Jesus. Followers of Raptor Jesus believe that he is the only true savior. When our lord rises again during The Velocirapture, heretics and worshipers of TyrannoSatan shall be cast underfoot and disemboweled by his holy talons.
