Easter was the day Christ rose again.
So, yeah, it actually is Christian.
But a lot of celebrations custom with Easter come from a different religion (I can't remember which, but possibly the pagan one you speak of).
The celebrations associated with Easter you're calling pagan are basically celebrating spring and birth along with the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
It's not a pagan holiday, silly pants. =P
Besides the bible tells us in Luke 22 to observe Jesus' death, not his resurrection. What is more important? HIs death and sacrifice, or the fact that God raised him back up? I say his death.
