This is something that shouldn't even have to be questioned. God loves his children. Was then ever a little side note that said the exceptions?

Very nice. I am a Christian myself. And I have a brother who is gay. He has a boyfriend. But just because he's gay doesn't mean I'm gonna say, "Hey, you going to hell" or "God hates you." Heck no! I wouldn't say that to any gay person or lesbian!!!!! God still loves gays and lesbians... it's just not right, you know? But... I hate it when Christian say that. To me, their not true Christians.

Beautifully written article, I completely agree.

It is very hypocritical of some christians to say that god loves "everyone" as long as "everyone" doesn't include those who aren't heterosexuals.

I know that not all christians think this way, but it's sad that so many do. They're just the hypocrites, choosing who their god loves and doesn't love.

If there actually is a god, I don't think he'd let his people decide who he loves and doesn't love.

    Everyone deserves to be loved.

also I agree with skittlemeister (sorry if i spelled it wrong)
it is hypocritical for a christian to say they believe in god and yet
they're so narrow minded to whats going on in life.
my aunt is like this and she annoys me so much.
when i used to go to church everyone, even the pastor would look at me like i was an alien because i wore black chained all over pants, fish net gloves, an MCR t-shirt,heavy eyeliner, and black nail polish. it didn't help when i held my girlfriends hand. One day when i was being baptized, the preist whipered in my ear and said i was going to hell because god didn't love me!
people piss me off so much!

As far as the religon part, I'm going to say yes I am a Lutheran, and yes, I'm okay with gay legal marrige (though the ceremony part's another story).
    And here's why:
I, for one remembers when the Bible says, "Hate the sin, love the sinner." Why can't anyone else?

What makes me laugh is the fact that these so called "Christians" are judging people when their God said that he will be the judge, not them. It's a bit hypocritical if you ask me.

    I totally agree with this!
    Beautiful article! :D
I HATE when I hear people say that they are Christian, and they hate gay people, or that God hates gays! If people say that, they are not a true Christian! God hates NO ONE!
If America is a "free country" why can't gay people get married? It's so stupid!
I think people should be able to do what they want as long as they're not hurting anyone else.
And taditional family my ass! I don't think I know one person that has a "traditional family"

    Oh, I love this article.
I completely agree with everything. The governments and the people are getting so caught up in same-gender marriages and saying it's immoral and crap. What about murder? Suicide? Underaged mothers? That's immoral and it's going virtually unnoticed. Marraige is a basic right that everyone should have no matter what, just like you said. And like what you said about adoption! Sure, it's satisfying to have children bearing your traits and DNA, but there are kids out there who need parents and if some child has 2 dads or 2 mums, wouldn't that cause them to grow up and be less likely to have prejudice against other homosexuals? The future generations could, like, evolve into a more accepting kind of people. It could work, you know.

I entirely agree with you. People came to the Americas for freedom of religion, and its a Protestant country. Yet, we have dumbass people saying that homosexuals are going to go to Hell. Whenever I hear stuff like this, I instantaneuosly ask myself: WHY? As far as I knew 'God' loves everybody and anybody, even if they have commited 'Sins.' Also, Catholics are against abortion, yet these people hate another group of people who are guarranteed to never have an abortion! I see no reason why Catholics and Christians should hate homosexuals.

    I completly agree!
America is the worlds only superpower (for now) and it honestly sickens me that they're so far behind on things.
Everyone assumes people in Britain are stuck up and uptight about things, yet we've legalised civil unions (marriage basically but with nicer terming)
I hate religion, I honestly do. I don't mind people saying they're religious, I personally don't understand it, but I let them. But when they bring in religion into an argument that does not require it, it sickens me.
I was under the illusion that law and religion were two seperate things in America, and that they could not get involved?
So for gay marriages to be banned because of 'religious beliefs', is ridiculous.
No offense to Americans over all, but America really needs to step upto the plate and catch up with the times

You really made some good points in this article. It was very well written.

Everyone should have equal rights. No matter their sexual orientation. I'm always hearing that God hates them, they're going to hell and even they disgrace God. Some people even say it's not natural to like the same gender.
What I'm wondering is what makes straight couples more better than gay couples? Why do they deserve to get married while gay couples can't?
My mom always tells me it doesn't matter what gender you're with, as long as you're treating each other right and are in love you.

I agree with you that gays should have the right I mean even if they took the rite away they would still go to like Las Vegas to go to get married in a drive thru church. And that's just sad.
And I know some of those children in the orphanege could care less if they had two mommies or two daddies they just want someone to love them and cherish and take care of them...then just having two parents that are man and women.

I loved the article, hands down. You made some really great points.

Everyone has the same rights, no matter your race, religion, sex, etc. I really hate how everything has to change when two people of the same sex want to get married. Straight couples have are allowed, aren't they? Homosexuals have goals and families, so why not be allowed to marry?
