Yes, his real name is David Dick,
do you have a problem, shesgotstyle?
Because frankly, making fun of
others names isn't really all that nice,
just kind of shallow and ignorant.
Anyways, back to you WoT,
great article! I think the consultant idea
is really cool, and it lets us see
one topic from two different viewpoints.
I agree with both you, and David. Although
both points are similar, I could see
the important differentiations
between the two, and they were
both portrayed strongly and accurately
in my opinion. =]
Is his name really David Dick? Ok, sorry I'm trying to be serious.
Anyways hahah,
Freedom of speech is very important, as is freedom of expression. Freedom of expression gives us rights to express ours opinions in any way, as long as it doesn't present a clear and present danger. We have Texas vs. Johnson to thank for that. In T v. J, a group of people burned an American flag in protest of a Republican convention. They were arrested and sent to court, but appealed all the way to the Supreme court. The Supreme court ruled that what the people did was not against the Constitution, and they were just using their freedom of speech. T v. J set up a precedent for cases like that. Basically you can do whatever you want, offensive as it may be, as long as it does not present a clear and present danger.
For we, the American people, are the voice of reason in this wonderful country.
If only that were true, but few people are actually reasonable -in the US and outside of it. T_T
The freedom of speech is really the freedom to your own opinion. This means you can communicate it in a non-violent manner. It doesn't give you the right to say whatever you want without consequences. So, yeah, you can't say you're going to blow up a bomb somewhere and not have anyone do something about it.
Well I think that "we the people" can change what people think about free and break barriers. I'm not all that optomistic but I still think that Obama's showing us that. Expecialy us teens, we can speak freely, like we are now *shrug*
