I totally agree. One of my really good friends is gay, and he's one of the nicest people I know. And one of the most fashionble. We have a uniform here, and somehow he manages to ALWAYS match and pull it off.

maybe this will help.
I'm sorry if this article seems confusing to you. Let me evaluate the purpose of this article and why i wrote it.
The purpose dear readers was to write a letter to a newspaper about why they should print a article about any type of discrimination. I choose homosexuality. I don't have to write the article. What you have just read is my letter to the newspaper manager. I am persuading him that e should print my real article. This is not the real article, this is a letter. I hope that helps you somehow. And even if it doesn't, i tried. Any further questions, let me know.

This will all blow over, just like every other big matter. One day people will look at someone who likes the same sex and think, "They are not a homosexual person, they are a person who just happens to be homosexual. " Maybe not in that fashion, but eventually everything will be fine till the next big ordeal. :1

I'm so sick of people writing about gay people and how badly they are treated. OK! We got it, gay people are just like straight people! So what? what's all this argument between gay people? I don't get it, why people make a big deal over this. People are not made to be in love with the same sex, but if they are, why fuss over it?

I honestly feel like homophobia will go away with time. Like, most of our generation doesn't have a problem with it, and once we're in power, things will get considerably better for them. Not to say that it isn't fair for them now, but still.

In a world where a pencil case is called a pencil case and a banana is called a banana. If we were to call a pencil case a holder, would it not seem abnormal? If we called a banana yellow, would you not think that was stupid? Our brains have been molded into thinking that a banana can only be called a banana and pencil case can only be a pencil case. It’s the same thing, just a different name.

...This analogy doesn't make sense at all. Also, as a member of the LGBT community, I'd like to register the fact that somehow I don't appreciate my sexual orientation being compared to a banana.

Can you feel your brain agreeing with me? It’s true, without thinking, the first thing that comes to your head when you think of a homosexual.
Pink. Pretty. Girly. Weird.

Er...no, actually. When I think of a homosexual I think of someone who is attracted to the same gender.

They have to deal with name calling, work discrimination and sexual discrimination altogether!

You know, I'm kind of sick of people acting like gay people are the only minority group who are being discriminated against in modern times. Racism, sexism, and general xenophobia are all alive and well, FYI.

...must we still carry on a heavy form of racism? Would you call it racism? I would, aren’t they both the same?

Um, no, I wouldn't, and no, they're not. Homosexuality is a sexual orientation. Not a race. Discrimination against people who are homosexual is called homophobia. Not racism. Before writing an article about something, please make sure to use the correct nomenclature.

I didn't like this article. It was disorganized, it didn't make sense, there was no clear thesis, and it was basically an all-around mess. Please proof-read next time.

I agree completey! People need to grow up and see that just cause you like the same sex doesnt mean your an outcast. I'm not Bi, Gay or a lesbian but I still respect their choices and believe that they should be treated equaliy

It would be nice to live in a world where everyone accepted one another. Unfortunately, I doubt I'll ever see that.

I like Sink of Exotica's comment.
They're right.
Being Gay, Lesbian, Bi doesn't mean people are weird or abnormal.
Im Bi, this means that I find both sexes attractive.
Im called weird, I take it as a compliment. Cuz I am. But thats not cuz im Bi.
Anywho, we are all the same.
Just cuz I like guys AND girls doesn't mean if you touch me your contaminated. Gosh.
Grow up.
People don't have cuties. And people who like the same sex don't have rabies... Well.. they might, but thats not what im talking about.
We're human.
Your human.
Maybe some of us think we aren't, but thats cuz they are them.
If you like the same sex, good for you.
If you don't, good for you.
If you like both, good for you.
If you are stupid and think that its sinful and nasty, thats your choice, stop trying to take over and make up our minds for us.

Love ya<3

I hope one day, in my lifetime, we live in a world where, I, or you or everyone else is accepted for the fact that we're not molded into being straight.

I'm bisexual. No, i can make up my mind. I just find women and men attractive.

What i dont get is, the minute your not looking exactly like the next person, then automatically your gay....wtf?

GAY IS NOT AN INSULT. ITS NOT A STEROTYPE.
BEING GAY IS KNOWING WHAT YOU WANT, AND BEING ATTRACTED TO WHAT YOU WANT.
ITS NOT A FASHION STATEMENT.

NOT ALL GAY MEN LIKE SHOPPING AND PINK.\
NOT ALL LESBIANS LIKE SPORTS AND HAVE SHORT HAIR.

People are diffrent, because we can be. What fun would it be if we were all "perfect primped straight people"

GROW UP, PEOPLE.

I agree, too. Very well written article. It's so stupid, the way people think that just because you are gay that it makes you different or subhuman. Everyone's the same, because we're all human beings and it shouldn't matter your race, culture, gender, sexuality or otherwise. People are too judgmental and need to learn that a homosexual person is exactly the same as everyone else.
