Plain text is good because you can organize things like a filing cabinet. For example, I'm writing a story called Welcome to My Life, right? Well, what I can do is ake a folder for it and then WITHIN it I can make another folder for characters, then another for plot ideas. Basically, you can create a never ending cycle of folders if you really wanted to. It's perfect if you have multiple story ideas that you come up with and can work on each one all in that one app.

That's why Plain text is a really cool app for writers. That's actually my favorite app, even though I don't use it much. Writer Lists is also my favorite because it helps you come up with names or characters, even last names. You can even come up with character traits for your characters, what they wear and also what kind of story your writing. Such as if you were writing man against society or man against villian... stuff like that. It's really neat.

It took a lot of time and searching to actually find them. Some I had to buy with itunes cards. I think Plain text you have to buy only but if you are like me and create lots of multiple stories, than I recommend it. Same with Writer Lists.

Daedalus lets you organize stories, kind of like writing a novels. You can have multiple pages too. I like it much better because it's organizable.

Oh thank you so much! I just downloaded A Novel Idea and am so excited to get started with it. I tend to do a lot of writing on my iPhone so I'm stoked.

Haha, yes, I can relate to you since I'm on mobile all the time. I'll be on the lappie if I need to update the chapter I'm working on, coz updating by mobile is a pain in the ass. The horror!

I got an iPad mini over the holiday and I've been doing all my writing on there. I'm hardly on my computer anymore, so I know what you mean.

You're such a lifesaver, Emmaleigh! I'm one of those peculiar people who does their writing on their iPhone (I've never written a story on a word doc) and I've been doing it on the notepad section for nearly a year now. This is just genius, although I might be opting for the free apps :p

Pages is also a great app that lays out very similar to a Word document. It's a little more expensive, at $10.99 I believe, but the interface is so sleek that it's worth it. It's for the iPad as well.

The best one for me I've found that is free is Textilus. It can be used with Word documents so it can be transferred to a computer. It has almost everything Word can and you have have three stories/Documents on the free version. I love it.

I tried DraftPad and A Novel Idea but Textilus is much easier for me. It lets me write, find and replace, use special characters and can be sent around very easily. Plus they update often so there is hardly any bugs.

I can nae a whole bunch of others that have helped me, if that's okay. XD I have used ones called: Writer Lists (it gives you a whole bunch of things like male names, female names, last names whatever), Daedalus and Plain Text. These are the ones that I use. I also use Writing Tools. ^^ But I do thank you for this since I am a happy iPad user. :3

Thanks for this! I use DraftPad and it's good, but it's old and there's no option for more than one story, so I haven't been using it lately. I'll definitely be checking these ones out! :)
