    Nice article...
    And yeah, I like the main point;
    That we need the 'ugly' to throw the beautiful into relief.

    The world itself is beautiful. The human race are the ugly ones- creating buildings everywhere, destroying forests, swamps, and everything you can think of.

    I agree with One_Liners...
    I don't walk around my neighborhood...
    it's a place called Watts....
    there's people you can't trust...
    my mom never lets me go out...and Watts is kind of trashy...
    only when we're in the car, and we only go down compton to either the freeway or huntington park, which is awesome...=)

    Nature itself is beautiful. It's the people that make the world ugly.

    Nature isn't ugly. Nature's beautiful inside and out.
    But, it's people that other people are talking about when they say that.
    Most people are only out for themselves it seems to most.

    The issue here is that, people arn't saying the world is ugly... it's the people in it.

    very deep. Can't have one without the other though, if everything was (what we conceive to be) beautiful, then in fact it'd all be ordinary.
    And whats to say death is ugly?
