Our high school was closed because we have kids with the swine flu and then we have kids with flu symptoms. They have to clean it all. All three floors of it. It sucks. If we are out for a long time we have to make it up in the summer.

Erm, mexico is poor country and it doesn't have the same medication as the US does. It's tougher there and alot scarier because the hospitals aren't as prepared. So yes, it may be 'just' a flu to some but it's hell in countries that can't afford much.

I really hope it doesn't reach here in argentina, it would be so bothersome. -__-'

Breathless Tallie, it is deadly if people are dying from it.

The reason the virus is being shown as a big problem is that it is spreading fairly quickly, and there is no vaccine for it. It isn't like some vampire doctor is going to come and bite you, as this has been compared to the Spanish Influenza. In fact, it's such a big deal here in Texas that a whole school district is shut down until May 9th because of confirmed cases in school children. Yes, stay clean, but it is still possible to get sick.

It's just a flu that first only birds and pigs had. It is NOT deadly and you just need to take precations. Wash your hands and stay away from sick people. Cover your nose with your elbow when you sneeze and simple things like that.

I agree with Chadam. It's a flu, a creepy flu, but a flu nonetheless. In New York, more people are in the hospital because they THINK they have the flu rather than the actual number of people who have it. What's worse is that people who don't have it go to the hospital and get infected by people who actually have it. Also, worrying about it lowers your immune system. It's better off not to worry too much about.

    Wash you hands and relax

I think that they may be making a big deal out of it, but I also think that people shouldn't joke about it. People are dying.

It might not be as big deal as they make it, but I'm still scared of it, like I love to go to lots of concerts, and if we're gonna have to use those masks now, then they also would have to cancel all the concerts in my country, and I'm afraid that I'll get it,
'cause in my country all the medical is sold the first day it was in the tv, and they say there'll first be some ready again in a half year!

Their making way to big of a deal about this. Their saying it's the Black Plague all over again. The only reason it's bad in Mexico is because they don't have the medication we have. To us it's just like the normal flu.

People need to chill the fuck out. I'm not trying to be a bitch but seriously people. The one person in the US who has died WAS A BABY! Babies have weak immune systems, along with elderly people. Most of us will be fine!

Its all the media's fault for making it sound worse than it is. Besides, thousands of people die from the 'regular' flu every year.

As long as people wash their hands, eat healthy and try to stay away from friends and relatives who are sick, everybody will be fine.

Oh and FYI two people in Lowell MA (right near me) are infected. Their high schoolers and their just making them stay in isolation at home for 4 days. They'll be fine.

I can't help but be worried about catching this flu D:
It's so sad that people have died from this, especially the baby who died in Texas :[
The Scottish couple who got it don't live too far from me, and I have friends who live around their area, but they're in isolation in a hospital and they're recovering, so hopefully it will not spread.

Aparently there's two cases of swine flu at my local hospital in Airdrie. At the moment, I don't find it that worrying, because I'm not really affected, but it's all everyone seems to talk about now, and it's getting sort of annoying.

Any type of flu can kill.

    THANK YOU CHADAM.

I work at a hospital and everyone there has been downright flipping out about it. It's really starting to get annoying. If you maintain a healthy lifestyle and you're not already ill/really young/really old, you'll be just fine. Just wash your hands and cover your mouth. It's grade school stuff, kids.

    Nice article.

I understand that the Swine Flu is getting big, but I think the media is blowing it out of proportion. Making such a big deal about it.

I want to mention that it's just a flu... Every seasonal flu has death tolls of hundreds of thousands ever year, just in the US. This flu is no more deadly than any regular one, that I know. It's just because it's a new strain, and the fact the Mexico kept it on the DL for so long, that everyone is wigging out. If you have a flu, or even the swine flu, and you were strong and healthy before, you're gonna be FINE! xD

I just read about this the other day. So sad :[

I'm still freaking out because I read the symptoms. I highly doubt I have but there is that one part that thinks I do. :P
