This is cute, and kind of.. well.. hmm.. how should I say it... stupid?

Why stand under a tree? Heh. I would walk my ass home in the rain. I have no problem with it.
I would risk getting soaking wet over sitting under a tree during a lightning storm any day.
But that's just me.

To the person who keeps saying the guy wasn't knocked unconscious :
Every report I've read said he was. Common sense would suggest that being in the proximity of that level of current would do damage to your conscious state. Think all the kids climbing electricity poles and going into power stations in those talks you get in primary school. Mind they also say never shelter under trees in a thunderstorm, bt there you go.
I hear he's rather popular with the lass's mother. :') They are two very lucky kids.

Dude, that's luck.
And now she gets to brag about living. Or as a word-blocker. For instance, she says that she'll buy a lottery ticket. Her friend says that it's stupid and that her chances are winning are... And then she can break in, "Like surviving a lightning strike?"

I remember watching something on TV years ago about this girl getting struck by lightning. She lived, amazingly. They believe the reason she lived was because of her belly ring. Something about how the lightning struck her, redirected the current through the ring, and saved her life.

Both stories are just amazing.
