For anyone who's doing this, or taking part - Thank you. I live in a country that is a recipient for the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child and I've seen the looks on the faces of the children who receive the special shoe boxes - priceless. It might be just a little spare change and what not but the difference it makes to the children's lives, especially where I'm from, is magnificent. Thank you from Fiji :)

We did this in school, I think it's an amazing and selfless concept to help those who can't help themselves just by donating things we would take for granted.

They're not really a humanitarian organisation, they're a Christian one. I actually have major problems with them because they can be very harassing if you're in the mall or whatever and they're trying to get you to help them. I've told them straight up that I only support secular toy drives (which I do, every year) and they got all bitchy. The reason I only support secular is that Samaritan's Purse will spread their faith around and I can't support that.

We used to do this all of the time when were in school, they still do it to this day. Ireland, by the way, not the UK or the US. I always loved it, there was nothing better than organizing my shoe box and packing it off.

I always hated though how they interfered with the boxes and shared them out >.<
