This boy has guts.
Not afraid to tell people of his orientation.
But being killed so young; makes me sad.
No one should have to go through this.

That is horrible! First of all, I'd like to say that I admire him for coming out with his sexuality like he did, seeing as some people are not comfortable with that sort of thing. And now I see why. I haven't met one person [in real life] that's homophobic. I know some gay guys that go to my school and yet they never get harassed or teased by their sexuality.
But what happened to Larry is seriously cruel. He was already living in a home for the abused, and then some kid goes and shoots him. Nice going, buddy. -sigh- Rest In Piece, Lawrence King.

That's sick! I mean I don't agree with that lifestyle either, but there's no reason to be homophobic, and there sure as hell is no reason to kill them or harass them. If he was a nice kid, then treat him like you would anyone else. Their sexual preference does not change the type of person they are on the inside. I feel bad for the kid, having to die for being proud of who he is, and because some people are ignorant as hell.

Looking past the homophobia, how the hell did the kid's killer get his hands on a gun? Irresponsible parents share some fault in this, methinks.

That sickens me. I mean, you don't just shoot someone for being gay and saying they like you. God, just nicely tell them you don't have that sexual prefrence. You don't have be so vile and cruel. That poor boy. I hope the homophobe goes to jail. He deserves it. Homophobia is so stupid. XP TO THAT NASTY THING.

like everyone else, i have to say this
this is so wrong.
just because someone has a different sexual preference, they shouldn't be persecuted for it. Racism and sexism are taken very seriously, but when it comes to homophobia it is often ignored and tolerated. This is very unfair. I don't mean to be offnsiv at all, but if somone had been shot in a case of racism, then it would be a much bigger deal. Homophobia is completely wrong and although people say we live in a prejudice free society, homophobia is far too common and no one in a country with a decent democracy like UK or USA should have to hide who they are because they would be persecuted an dput in danger. There, rant over. Larry King, rest in peace, and you will be remembered a a hero for standing up for what you believe in and being proud of who you are. It is people like you who will help our countries get over and realise how wrong homophobia is, i really look up to you for what you did, i hope you're happy. x

That's so wrong. It's so wrong that homosexuals have to live in fear. They cannot express who they really are. You see girls talking about boys in the hall or visa-versa. Yet, it's so weird to see a guy talking about another guy or a girl talking about another girl.

And then, when there is a courageous person out there that is not afraid to say it, he ends up getting shot in the head. This society we live in is so sick. Can't we except who we are. But that's asking too much....after all we are only humans and we'll never be able to tolerate different things.

Rest in Peace Larry, it's not fair that life had to be so short for you just because you were brave.

Wow, that's just sad. You should be able to express how you feel towards other people and not have things like that happen. Homophobia should just end already because I see no point in it. Sure they hate gays and lesbians but it really shouldn't be that big of a deal.
My friends and I are doing a Day of Silence but I'm pretty sure we don't have school that day which sucks. We could have showed people out there that there are people who are gay, bi, lesbian, and transgender but don't let it show or just don't tell. You should feel good the way you are. I really think he shouldn't have been killed for the reason that it was.

If you live in a town where Gay or lesbian relationships are especially shunned then it says realisticly that you should hide your preferrence. Even though it is your right to be that preferrence some towns and people hate it with a passion and you might even find organizations dedicated to the hate of homosexuality.

Im not saying it was the little boys fault, but when you wear jewlerry and high heeled boots to school in a community [school] that there is a heavy hatred in the air, obviously something is going to happen. Its like poking the beehive with a stick until it reacts.

My school is having a day of silence for gay and lesbian rights as well as the right to be different.
But you know what's messed up? (besides the fact that someone was killed because of their sexual preference) 7th graders can't sign up to join the day of silence. Hmph.

This just shows how prejudice our society still is, even though we've made considerable advances.
I did read a newspaper article about this and even though the guy did seem to push it, no matter what he did, it does not justify his murder.

This solves nothing. The boy who shot him is terribly misled. I understand opinions, but that's just sick and literally brings tears to my eyes. I'm proud of him for being who he was. I wish there were more people who could just not care what others thought so much. I just wish that people could accept it and get over it. That was utterly horrific.

so sad, truly, i too would like to give that boy a piece of my mind, a rather large and painfully charged one, but... oh my...

I'm glad he was open, I am. They had NO right in the world to tease him for it, and I must sa that he was a rather daring boy... be boots part, and that's great for liking who he is. But killing him...

Why has this world dived into a pol of unreasonable anger and killing? Why can't people be more open minded... and have a more peaceful resolve? Shooting us all isn't going to make us stop.

We're not going A N Y W H E R E...
Why not just deal?
