It sounds like he's not over his ex. I think it would be best if you just wait a while before you try to pursue a relationship with him. If he's still thinking about his ex so much and you two hook up, you'll probably end up getting hurt and it'll be much harder to keep your relationship (as friends) in tact.

If you wait it out, make sure he really is over Megan, then you two will have better chance of being in a good relationship. And even if you break up later, you'll have a better chance of staying friends.

So, I think it's all about patience and waiting for the right time. I hope things work out for you.

I would love to help you out but I can't read your entry. If you could separate your sentences with periods and separate some paragraphs that would help me out bunches. I'm getting a headache just looking at that huge blurb of words.

Well, I'm not an expert on relationships, But i would say maybe when he gets back talk to him and tell him how your feeling.
A little bit of advice though (And this is from personal experience.) It's okay to give him a little time to figure things out, But just don't wait too long.. I waited years for a guy, Only to have him find another girl and leave me heart-broken, I'm just saying, It shouldn't take forever for him to sort things out.. So just don't spend a long time waiting like i did, It's a bad thing to do to yourself.

I'm sure things will work out for you though, Not every situation like that has a bad ending and i'm sure this one won't ( :
