Those kids who write about their depression are sometimes looking for help, a little bit of encouragement. If you have nothing nice to say, you probably shouldn't say anything. Someone has probably told you that before. If not, I'm telling you now.

I get what you mean, people need to be more respectful about others opinions and stuff, having meaningful journals etc... Just it's already been said, people don't really care for those details lol...

people seem more interetsted in the fact that i dont like fan fiction, ather than what the journal is actually about.

I agree with skank I do have something to say that's different from the "if you don't like it don't read it" thing, I don't feel people should just hate Fan Fics, instead hate the fact that they misproperly tag their story that gets annoying as fuck... ^_^

Aww, no. Don't be discouraged. I know what it's like, I had a story problem similar to this awhile back, so I know how you feel.
You shouldn't be afraid to voice your opinion.

    Yeah, lol.
I'm thinking of deleting this and writing a new, more direct one, since no one seems to understand.
This pretty much is discouraging me from writing any more journals..

LOL Okay, no problem, as I said, I'm paranoid ^_^
Maybe next time you should put in bold in your journal post about how it's about people's feelings, because people tend to read journal posts and sometimes they have such a good argument (or in some cases, think that they do) and write it down in a comment before contemplating what the post is actually about. I know it's a burden to write the extra time what the journal is actually about, but it will help to avoid people missing the point or misinturpurting what you have to say.

Were you directing that comment at me??
LOL because if so, that's what I was talking about when I said "pity' journals, which are the kind I write, which are basically about how I'm feeling...Which is depressing.
If not, then sorry, I'm just paranoid.

    Oh goodness.
It seems that no one is understanding this journal.
I know journals are meant to be commented on, which is what I was trying to say.
When I wrote that not everything needs a response, I meant journals that are about how someone is feeling, and not a discussion starter.

Yeah, I'm one of those people who write pity jornals *Hides face*
I don't allow comments on them, because I know that I will more than likely get trashed. But...It's a journal, and not everyone's life is good. So that's the reason why I do it, and because I know that I am going to get bad comments, I disable them.

That is why I agree with what you say about not everything needing a response. If one posts an entry like that, let them. They (we) don't need some 15 coments on how we need to get happy or whatever.

Gah, now I am thinking too much... I wrote a long drawn out comment on a simple idea...Oh well.

    :)

Which is why I did not write my journal about hating fanfiction.
I agree 100% with what you said, I guess it didn't come across in this journal though. I, too, enjoy debating and causing people to disagree/agree.

    I agree with skank.

Journals ARE infact, meant to be replied to. Or there wouldn't be that nifty little box at the bottom...

If people just post their opinions and everyone either agrees or ignores it, it's boring.

I like discussion. I like debate. And sometimes, I just enjoy being a sarcastic bitch. :)

Generally, I don't see the point in people posting journals that they know are going to cause a lot of backlash. It's rather attention seeking/stupid. Unless of course, the author of said journal is witty and can make the journal amusing and not a repeat of what everyone else who doesn't like "such and such" has already said. The Guitar Man/Dancing Caveman/porn being good examples of people who can do that.

If you post a journal on a public site you've got to expect people to reply and possibly challenge what you've said. After all, there's no fun when everyone just "getting along".

People are always going to be somewhat predictable. But then "I hate fanfiction" is a predictable journal that's already been done 4532525 times.

But you see, what I was trying to say was that those journals are so.. expected. Honestly, I don't know what I was trying to accomplish my writing this. But thanks for commenting, seeing as no one else did.

It mildly amuses me that you state a dislike of retaliation, as such, journals, yet this is one.

You hold good points I suppose.

But sometimes people feel the need to rant. And if they can't do it in real life for whatever reason, online is better.

Less chance of the person (if it is a person they're writing about) reading it or what not.

's just what people do. Psychological.
(Oh yes, I've been paying attention at school...XD)
