Whining is not emo, it is a factor that has been associated with is by teens who need something to fit into.
They actually do wear alot of black, not that it has anything to do with this.
I am not talking about them as people, I'm sure they are very happy. I'm peaking of their MUSIC, did you forget that's what they do?

But everyone is emotional, therefore in that respect everyone should be considered emo. But no kids are just singling out people. they're.not.emo
and so what if they sing about emotions. It helps when you're depressed, because its uplifting to you when you are that way. No matter what anyone says the band saves lives, and are not emo

Yeah, but they don't like being associated with it. Because it means there fans will get beaten up more often and its harder for an 'emo' band to book gigs. They don't always wear black and they never whine so they shouldn't even fit into emo in the first place

She shouldn't be blamed for anything. Even if she was screaming GO KISS GIRLS AND CARRY KNIVES, it would not be her fault if people did it. Parents should teach their children to be reponsible and not be influeced by the media.
Off topic: Mcr IS pretty "emo". I mean, they sing about their emotions quite often, correct?

    didn't the daily mail?
emo doesn't mean anything besides teenagers who wear black and whine. the music genre is completely irrelevent... like goffs. what is a goff? it werzz blak and lyks marilyn manson...

    gosh.

emo is wonderfully overused and can describe anything. :-)
sort of like chav, but emos are less dangerous.

i've completely lost whatever point i half thought out originally. :-)

    No, no, no, no.
I'm tired of saying that they are not emo, Its something that both the fans and the band have tried to stop being associated with for such a long time now.

I don't think they have the best effect on people, subconciously.

    >_>
I think that MCR is relatively Emo, yes.

katy perry seems more popular among emo kids, anyway... because of that kissed a girl song, right?
so... emo kids don't shank. they whine. you can't blame mcr for suicide because emo kids are not known for their high suicide rates

teenagers aren't the most at risk for commiting suicide, anyway. we're just the most easily influenced :-)

the sun isn't much of a newspaper, anyway...
wouldn't we all rather see katy on page three, kissing a girl?

    Oh jeez.
That newspaper seems to take things out of proportion. Not to mention that they don't seem like they have faith for the youth. I mean, now we're all going to go out and start knifing people? :\
Meh... I recently just got 'One Of The Boys' too...

But, I agree with Jinxeh (Smiley) if Perry should be blamed for anything it should be for her glorification of faux-bisexuality.

But culinary involves knives, and no self-respecting Emo kid would cut with anything but. >_>

    I use 'self-respecing' very lightly.

Wow, that's really a stretch. Blaming a picture of Katy Perry for some kid getting killed. It's sad and all, but really.

Like you said, it happens with MCR all the time. A while back, there was an article about a girl who committed suicide and her parents and the town she lived in blamed MCR for it.

People need to start taking responsibility for themselves and their kids instead of searching for the next scapegoat.
